Ignoring Musk going all Hitler, the US was able to 'encourage' companies to lock our China from their markets to some degree by ensuring they would be fair and open in trade restrictions. Well Trump pretty much disregarded and any carrot the US had to offer. If the US wants some one sided trade agreements, countries such as Australia (and Canada and Mexico and Europe) are basically just going to say fuck you and let the open market rule. Tesla you can now compete directly with China in most markets around the world. Good luck with that. And Americans. You can be stuck with a single choice lower grade car at a high price.

Aussie Te$las come from China anyway, lol

To be sure. But they are still expensive and the profits go back to the US.

The profits are only on paper. It's a nightmare to get money out of China.

It is not hard to get profits out of China when the sales are in countries outside of China. They do not have anyway to access that money. You could be correct if all your sales and profits and money is in China. Then they control a bit what can leave the country.
