Up almost 1% pre market. That shit wouldn't go below 300 even if Austin would get hit by a huge asteroid.

MJFields 2025-08-22 10:18

I knew a guy whose restaurant was failing. They had a fire too! Wild.

JonnyBravoII 2025-08-22 10:21

Collapsing sales, FSD lying is starting to bite him, Cyber Truck a disaster, elimination of the EV tax credit along with Trump's open hostility to anything electric. Stock is still worth $1 trillion. I will admit that when people would say that the market is fixed and manipulated, I'd just roll my eyes. No longer. There is something going on here that is propping up that stock price for no good reason. The fact that the board gave him tens of billions of dollars in compensation is even worse. I have to believe it's massive market manipulation because no other scenario makes sense. When Tesla is worth hundreds of billions more than the other nine top 10 car builders, something is wrong.

Trick_Judgment2639 2025-08-22 10:41

Nothing means anything anymore, they destroyed reality itself

Bryanh100 2025-08-22 10:49

Agreed. What are they better at? Robotics? They spun that off.

luv2block 2025-08-22 10:51

There's probably a dozen possibilities and all of them would fall into the "tin foil" hat category, but one of them is almost surely to be correct. What's going on with Tesla, is also going on with crypto, and very likely going on with AI as well.

Dommccabe 2025-08-22 10:51

The share price isnt connected to reality... I'm convinced there must be all sorts of fraud going on propping the value up because based on their sales and their failure in providing FSD, robo taxis and everything else the con man promised... Where is their roadster? Semi that beats diesel?? Etc etc....

PresidentSpanky 2025-08-22 11:10

isn’t that a good thing, assuming that they are insured. gives them another excuse for bad numbers

FrogmanKouki 2025-08-22 11:14

Not even better than other car makers. Hyundai bought Boston Dynamics... So they trail other automakers

Furion86 2025-08-22 11:15

Half way through next year more time would have elapsed between the Semi/Roadster 2 unveiling and today, than with the original Model S unveil in 2009.

Buddycat350 2025-08-22 11:42

> it's massive market manipulation because no other scenario makes sense. It's probably sprinkled with significant accounting frauds imo.

Purplebuzz 2025-08-22 11:45

Has he sorted out the drug use and being a Nazi and a terrible father or is this on top of all that?

bindermichi 2025-08-22 11:47

A fire… after collapsing sales … and financial distress… coincidence or insurance fraud?

JamesLahey08 2025-08-22 11:59

Retail investor keep it up a lot I'm sure. Unmarried men who watch bro Rogan and swear that they need to eat more red meat.

Zari_Vanguard1992 2025-08-22 12:01

He'll never sort out the drug use nor being a non-existent father Reminder: Elon is the same dude to use a poor kid as a human shield because he "values his own life"

TradingTennish 2025-08-22 12:14

Insurance fraud?

No_Safety_6803 2025-08-22 12:25

Why wouldn’t musk be doing everything possible, legal or not, to keep the stock price up?

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-08-22 12:30

I came here to say this... 😃 You know it's getting bad at any company when the idea of insurance fraud is even a thought that crosses your mind.

noobgiraffe 2025-08-22 12:50

AI is still kind of a wildcard. There's argument to be made that when it all shakes out it will have similar impact as the internet. It might not happen but at this point if someone tells me they believe it I don't see them as nutjobs. Tesla on the other hand is on the downward trend. They have been breaking promises like there is no tomorrow. Their sales are dropping for a second year. Everyone hates musk. There is 100% something funny going on with their stock. You now have multiple companies who have taxi services with no person in the car. Tesla is not one of them yet internet is flooded with opinions how they will ervolutionize the market. Even analysts whos whole job should be to analyze the company give price targets of 500$. There is just no way they look into the details and come out with this conclusion. There is definetly some other motivation for this.

Automatic_Soil9814 2025-08-22 12:51

At this point, I don’t know which to believe less: A headline saying the most recent Tesla mistake is making the stock go down.  Or A headline saying Trump’s latest assault on our rights is making his approval ratings dip.

noobgiraffe 2025-08-22 12:54

Boston dynamics just released demo that completely destroys anything Tesla has shown with optimus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYwekersccY Real time, with a person actively trying to sabotage it. It adapts. It balances and it's end ot end NN that people always claim only tesla does. Barely any discussion about this. Optimus dances with prerecorded animation on a flat ground? Internet goes wild.

paulstanners 2025-08-22 13:11

My thought exactly when I saw this article.

Electrifying2017 2025-08-22 13:17

Has he been seen with that kid recently? I’d be surprised if he wasn’t sidelined yet.

ComicsEtAl 2025-08-22 13:41

Shouldn’t a burning Tesla factory increase the share price?

Waste_Curve994 2025-08-22 14:25

It’s up 4% this morning. It makes no sense. I know this is a house of cards but don’t understand why it’s going on for so long.

HickAzn 2025-08-22 14:28

The board giving him billions makes sense in a twisted way. Tesla stock is on steroids thanks to fElons bullshit. If you’re a shareholder, do you want the grift to end and have it crashing back to reality? Continue the grift for as long as possible while you exit your position. Then fly off to a tax haven without an extradition treaty with the US and spend your loot snorting cocaine off a hookers ass crack. That’s my tin foil theory. About Dan Ives and other analysts: I actually don’t know. Their long term credibility is on the line, so what’s their game?

cahrg 2025-08-22 14:31

Insurance will pay money that can be used to train sex robots, bullish!

Dadd_io 2025-08-22 14:45

An argument can also be made that AI is a giant fraud which has summarizing information as its only truly reliable feature, and even then it summarizes inaccurate data in with the rest.

[deleted] 2025-08-22 14:46

It is being propped up by the dream that serfs living on a the digital plantation will be compelled to subscribe to an autonomous driving service to survive- that means groceries, doctors, soccer practice, everything. The average car lasts 17 years and the average vehicle on road is 12. Even the shady guy with 4 local dealers selling $8k corollas with the check engine light and putting a gas lock on a car note with an 18% APR isnt a part of the ruling class. All the power and control flows through just a few hands- not because we are healthier, living in more robust homes and happier- but because they will control the means of production and even simply living that would be unimaginable. The idea of private vehicle ownership as a geofenced, easily brickable luxury with its own set of subscription services- combined with poor people paying 2k a year for robo cab rides- rather than the mechanic- is the trillion dollar scheme The serfs were never intended to get horses for as long as they have. And once autonomous driving works, the drumbeat of moral panic about humans being unfit to pilot cars will be deafening. The added bonus of rolling surveillance vehicles festooned with cameras patrolling the road will be a special bonus on top. Our digital overlords obviously see hardship and pain as our future lot, or they wouldn’t be using their mouthpieces to convince women to leave to the workforce to relieve some of the pressure and upheaval from millions of jobs destroyed. Dont worry- those under 30 without even the wherewithal to rent a robotaxi can ride on electric scooters and ebikes- but don’t expect a moral panic about all the injuries associated with an ableist and ageist mode of transport turning a profit while buses and trains are defunded and closed.

RightInThePeyronie 2025-08-22 14:55

Whatever massive entity or deep pocket that has been manipulating the stock price. They've been buying bad news for months and now they're desperately trying to create an upward breakout from the current consolidation. It's crazy to watch.

PaleInTexas 2025-08-22 15:03

Slips? Its going straight up.. nothing stops this scam stock.

Chemical_Refuse_1030 2025-08-22 15:07

Is this some alternate reality? Their stocks are 5% up today.

Opting_out_again 2025-08-22 15:20

I think this is a big part. As far as valuation...Tesla is basically a meme stock . It is known that Musk has been in direct contact with Putin who has control of the biggest and most effective propaganda operation on earth. We also know that the Russians have paid content creators to spread their lies. I am sure that others are still being paid to spread all kinds of misinformation on all kinds of subjects. It's the most effective advertising imaginable. Elon and Tesla would be nowhere without the internet. The guy seems to spend most of his time posting BS on social media because it is at the heart of his "success". This is not a conspiracy theory. There are plenty of facts to back this up.

SolutionWarm6576 2025-08-22 15:39

Bullish. Up 15 USD today. 🧐

Xollector 2025-08-22 15:50

TGIF ! With Powell it’s perfect time to squeeze those 0 DTE calls by dem bois

longebane 2025-08-22 15:56

The whales with a lot of money in Tesla aren’t fooled by your serf dream; that’s only peddled at the stock bros

bikesnotbombs 2025-08-22 16:04

not just him.. also passive investors in the s&p, and im sure all the banks that have loaned him billions against the share value. also wouldnt be surprised if there were foreign actors involved too for some reason. plus its volatility that is unlike other stocks is a good vehicle for options trading. and the retail cult. idk, still doesnt make sense to me

DhOnky730 2025-08-22 16:10

now almost 5% during the market.

pluary 2025-08-22 16:21

Thanks for the link . That was very interesting.

KnucklesMcGee 2025-08-22 16:31

I wouldn't be surprised if he's using that kid as a blood donor in a few years.

ddesideria89 2025-08-22 17:22

Can we stop with "Tesla Stock Slips" headlines at least until it hits $100

OldNewbie616 2025-08-22 17:28

P:E to the moon. 🚀 🚀 💎 🙌

GlbdS 2025-08-22 17:54

I think you're missing the forest for the trees, AI is not jyst chatGPT, tons of hyperfocused applications do actually work extremely well, but not as a mass product

Pancheel 2025-08-22 18:47

It does! 338.67+18.56(+5.80%)

tarus_qwertyuiop 2025-08-22 18:52

lol get a reality check. Tesla stock has never been connected to reality since inception.

Due-University5222 2025-08-22 19:09

Great video. Thanks for sharing.

RocketLabBeatsSpaceX 2025-08-22 19:10

I just wish it would get removed from the SnP500. So many people are forced to buy it for this reason alone.

Crepuscular_Tex 2025-08-22 19:23

Don't worry. Elon will collect the insurance, then use crypto and a bot farm in India to buy the stock back so the value doesn't fall too much.

Crepuscular_Tex 2025-08-22 19:35

Welcome to Elon's true and only genius of scam artistry and cooking the books at a billionaire level. Remember when he scammed the Republican party and they thought he was making 2 trillion in cuts, but he just fired all parts of the government that interfered with his business interests or had investigations, then doubled down and cancelled competing contracts while fast tracking his own contracts. Oh, and pushing out competing rocket launches so he could blow up three of his own was pure artistry.

Odd-Adagio7080 2025-08-22 20:00

Yes. There are many, many, many things artificial intelligence will make more efficient. Medicine/biotech is a big one.

Affectionate-Fox-551 2025-08-22 20:24

It went back up today

Disastrous-Force 2025-08-22 20:39

Hyper focused AI tools are not going to generate huge revenues and by extension wouldn’t justify supersized stock values. The AI hype train is around general purpose AI becoming in time AGI, which for a successful developer could be a very lucrative. I suspect that in reality once one development group achieves this multiple others will follow closely and commoditise the arse out of the market.

GlbdS 2025-08-22 20:39

I don't disagree!

ionizing_chicanery 2025-08-22 21:07

Besides the Elon distortion field Optimus gets hyped because they are quite foolishly pushing (and failing at) full human-like hand articulation. Like with much of what Tesla does they get credit for promising things that other companies don't because they're not actually very good or workable ideas.

That-Whereas3367 2025-08-22 21:16

TSLA up 6% on the bad news.

That-Whereas3367 2025-08-22 21:20

It's just a meme stock day traded by Mom and Pop investors, There is no massive entity manipulating the price. The only significant shareholders are Elmo and a few huge index funds.

readit145 2025-08-22 21:30

I mean Boston dynamics came out with a better version of Optimus I think about 15 years ago at this point. Today their robots just 💩 on Tesla. They even made a video making fun of Tesla at one point. Edit to add: I also love how Boston dynamics bullies the fuck out of their robots and Teslas like “don’t even breath near this”

AsH83 2025-08-22 22:00

This did not age well at all 🤣

C_Dragons 2025-08-22 22:16

Remember, in the short run a popularity contest, in the long run a weighing machine.

AwesomeShikuwasa77 2025-08-22 22:20

No problem Cathie is gonna buy the dip.

Electronic-Ad1037 2025-08-22 23:23

Only thing that can save them is eternal government contracts that will come out of the ether in the next 3 years wich will happen

practicaloppossum 2025-08-22 23:35

In China they recently had an Olympics for humanoid robots. 280 teams, from 16 countries. None of them were Optimus robots. Elon is so far behind in robots that there's really no point in him even trying.

wraith_majestic 2025-08-23 02:32

Closed up $20, but we should have expected that really.

jaimi_wanders 2025-08-23 05:15

Yeah, about that… https://www.npr.org/2025/08/18/nx-s1-5501545/a-new-study-raises-concerns-about-whether-doctors-become-too-reliant-on-ai

aussiegreenie 2025-08-23 07:09

Except 95% of Al is failing. AI will be as important as the Web but not for years.

c_m_d 2025-08-23 08:10

I don’t think it’s fraud. I think the market is completely irrational and there’s been so much investment into the company that it’s become too big to fail. I’m not sure what else could justify the company’s current market cap. Empty promises aren’t worth anything but musk seems to be able to convince people in believing his pitch.

GhostofBreadDragons 2025-08-23 12:26

Easier answer on the analysis. Musk is leveraging almost all his stock in loans. The classic if you owe the bank 100,000 you have a problem if you owe the bank a billion the bank has a problem. It is in the interest to a multiple of these financial institutions to keep the price of Tesla up because they are in a fashion highly invested in them. It is highly telling that so many people in leadership positions at Tesla are selling their stock on a consistent basis. None of them want to be bag holders.

Significant_Post8359 2025-08-23 12:27

How about being in the SP500? A significant portion of the stock market is now owned by people saving for retirement in their 401k plans. That money flows in regardless of a company’s performance. Tesla gets 1.6% of that. I wish I could get billion dollar investments every year.

danielbot 2025-08-23 13:18

I would not be at all surprised if insurance fires start breaking out at Tesla's idle factories.

Alarming_Jacket3876 2025-08-23 13:42

5% company, 95% meme crypto is the only explanation that makes sense to me. Literally, the less you know the better. You just have to trust in the system and process that companies like this are how wealth is now stored. You know, at least until is isn't and you don't get the memo until too late.

Odd-Adagio7080 2025-08-23 22:50

Thanks for the info. Enlightening piece. I hadn’t even considered that. I was more thinking of something I read years ago about machine learning potentially being able to come up with new generations/combinations of antibiotics to combat strains that have evolved to the point of being (current) antibiotic resistant, which is only gong to get worse over time. Apparently pharmaceutical companies aren’t really working on new antibiotics because it’s too expensive for too little return on investment. But AI could go thru thousands of permutation models in a very short time to see what might work. Kind of point the researchers in the proper direction to battle MRSA, Lyme disease, etc.

Sharkwatcher314 2025-08-24 01:20

Don’t worry they will talk about some new whatever and the stock will rise 10%

microtherion 2025-08-24 07:48

Problem? Tesla is a software company now, not a car manufacturer, so Elon is playing 4D chess by torching the factory for the insurance money.

chrisjdel 2025-08-25 23:00

I think they're referring to things like the protein folding application and various others which can make it possible to design a drug to perform a specific task and the delivery mechanism that gets it where it needs to go in the body - whereas in the past we've tested one thing after another until we got something that worked. Truly revolutionary new treatments will become possible using specialized AI tools overseen by human researchers - as is the case for all genuinely productive uses of the technology at this point. For general tasks or working unsupervised AI is little more than a gimmick.
