The Merit System. Edit: Gonna add this teaser… > “Yet, instead of offering encouragement, Murray’s supervisor… counseled him that Murray should be informing all new Black security personnel that the use of the ‘N-word’ was simply engrained [sic] in the culture at Tesla and, so, Murray should only be bringing aboard that are willing to accept and acquiesce to the prevalence of that word in the workplace.”

*'Those who reported the issues were fired over bogus charges or forced to resign... “Healthy profits have always been more important to the Company than a healthy working environment,” the complaint alleges.* *“For Tesla, more bodies on the manufacturing line meant more vehicles flying out the factory door – no matter how unclean the hands were that were assembling those cars.”* Gotta get those green credits no matter the means.

Fish rots from the South African incel.

RatamacueRatamacue 2025-08-09 01:57

WTF? If they accept the N-word as being part of Tesla culture, what else do they explain that way? Next, someone will say Nazi salutes are just part of saluting the American flag.

LokeCanada 2025-08-09 02:08

A company takes its lead from it’s leader.

Many-Shelter4175 2025-08-09 02:43

At the Grünheide plant in Germany, Tesla tried to force me to work after a surgery, while still bleeding and on a sick note. They generally have a policy of assholery at the workplace. You can take any bet there is worse stuff going on at the factories then just people saying n\*\*\*\*r.

RocketLabBeatsSpaceX 2025-08-09 03:22

Yeah, this all checks out with the nazi salute I saw…

zippopopamus 2025-08-09 05:16

Its true coz u saw it at the whitehouse

Brave_Quantity_5261 2025-08-09 06:32

Which “N” word? The German one or the African American one?

Brave_Quantity_5261 2025-08-09 06:33

Company culture is always top-down, never bottom-up. Despite what corporate tells you.

Low-Possibility-7060 2025-08-09 08:10

I’ve read about those home visits to check whether people are really sick-insane. Are you still working there?

Far_Addition1210 2025-08-09 10:11

That's just Elmos time in the Whitehouse.

[No caps on either compensatory or punitive damages in California](https://1800lionlaw.com/damage-caps-by-state-personal-injury-med-mal/). Good luck finding a jury in California who'll not be tempted to set a new record with this one! The number of people in that state who wouldn't be totally disgusted by all this is vanishingly small. They were probably all working in that factory so ineligible to sit on the jury in any case!

doalwa 2025-08-09 10:53

Tbh, working for Tesla sounds like a grand old time!

brintoul 2025-08-09 15:22

I think you’re mistaken. His heart was going out to people!

Powerful_Fruit_9276 2025-08-09 15:25

These have to be some awesome stories

belinck 2025-08-09 16:36

I mean, the boss grew up as the son of a mine owner in South Africa. Are we surprised?

No-Fox-1400 2025-08-09 17:17

Having worked in that plant, it is terrible. The place is terrible, it's the shell of an old GM factory with huge areas left undeveloped. It's a ghost town and its getting ghostier so of course only the whitest of white will work there

meshreplacer 2025-08-09 18:41

Tesla as a company and its employees is a reflection of the CEO himself. None of this is surprising one bit. Also no wonder why QC is shit as well.

[deleted] 2025-08-09 18:50

Interesting to hear your experiences! Tesla isn't utilizing the entire floor space? That seems curious as they needed to expand to tents for production.

No-Fox-1400 2025-08-09 20:34

Rhe bought the old Nummi plant so they have been like a parasite since the beginning. The floor space is not tailored to their production line but instead the old Gm line

In a podcast interview, Errol Musk, Elon's father, says he supported the party against apartheid in South Africa. He claims it was actually Elon's maternal grandparents who were big Nazi supporters (Technocracy) starting in Canada. After Elon's maternal grandfather was jailed and the party was banned during WWII, they moved to South Africa where they aligned with apartheid and the Nationalist party, likened to Nazism. Errol later became estranged from Elon and his mother, while Elon refers to his father as a terrible person. When researching the Technocracy party in Canada and the Nationalist party of South Africa, all pieces of Elon's ideology for racism, labor and government fall into place. If anyone wants to know where annexing Canada, buying Greenland, and invading Mexico and Panama came from, start there. The Nazi salute was not just an affectation. EDIT: The Technocratic movement was not the same as the Nazi party, but demonstrated views that were sympathetic to Nazi Germany and wore similar uniforms. Musk's grandfather was also a member of the Social Credit Party known for anti-semitism and conspiracy theories.

Yeah, think toyota and gm pulled out in 2008 or so, and sold the plant to them for a small spiff. Does tesla have different amounts of stamping, paint, weld, final assembly stations that don't fit or something? I've heard they painted everything red and gray to fit the aesthetic that elon likes.

No-Fox-1400 2025-08-09 22:39

Oh yeah. For the engineering room imagine dressed down desks or dressed up folding tables *as far as the eye can see*

__slamallama__ 2025-08-09 23:04

Well there's context clues in the quote

mrbuttsavage 2025-08-10 03:38

I don't know how much I trust Errol in general, but given Maye and Elon himself that side of the family definitely seems extremely rotten.

Dubiousjinn 2025-08-10 04:27

Bullish

jaimi_wanders 2025-08-10 06:25

Some of this was backed up by that biography of Musk that came a couple years ago—and some of the biography makes more sense in light of it, the Haldemans leaving Canada for South Africa after the War when Jim Crow America was RIGHT THERE…but if they were open fascists, that could have been a problem regardless.

jaimi_wanders 2025-08-10 06:27

This is part of a 2018 investigation on Tesla safety violations that I listened to at the time on the same US public radio the GOP is trying to kill https://revealnews.org/article/tesla-says-its-factory-is-safer-but-it-left-injuries-off-the-books/

jaimi_wanders 2025-08-10 06:28

I remember when the radio program on this aired on NPR in 2018 https://revealnews.org/article/tesla-says-its-factory-is-safer-but-it-left-injuries-off-the-books/

jaimi_wanders 2025-08-10 06:28

Is the thing about no safety markings because Lord X hates yellow true?

LimaCharlieWhiskey 2025-08-10 11:48

Is the town of Fremont CA bad with racism, or are people emboldened by company culture, or both? Sorry I don't know what's happening with Californians but thought they are more chilled.

bikesnotbombs 2025-08-10 15:34

\*salutes

christmascake 2025-08-11 06:51

I love posting this gif as a reply to people who claim that nonsense https://i.redd.it/0fzy63c0unee1.gif

BrainOnLoan 2025-08-12 07:34

Are you German? Because I don't think that would fly with German employees. I actually have a tough time imagining even German management demanding it in the first place. What's the percentage of US imports there to bring along the corporate culture?

Many-Shelter4175 2025-08-12 16:46

That certainly did fly with both the LAVG, the authority that is supposed to enforce safety standards in workplaces in Brandenburg, who refused further investigation and sanctions and the works councils of the union, who lied to LAVG in the first place. Even the police and prosecuters did not care when i tried to press charges for Tesla and the union lying and deleting files and told me they can't investigate. They would particularly straight out tell they will refuse to investigate on how "Manpower", the temp work agency they work with only pays "Urlaubs- und Weihnachtsgeld" to their workers upon request, while the mostly foreign temp workers do not know that it's even a thing. Since Manpower knows they have to pay and part of that money goes to taxes and social security, this actually constitutes social security and tax fraud and Tesla profits from that with cheaper prices for their service. Tesla is the biggest industrial employer in the region and certainly does pay high wages compared to what else exists here. Both the city and Brandenburg are still deindustrialized. What do you think they care? This all does certainly fly, but not because it's Tesla. This kind of behavior is normal for superiors and industrial employers in Berlin and Brandenburg. On that note, it's important to state that they all had good reason to be angry at me, though. When my supervisor tried forcing me to work while still bleeding, i retaliated against the whole company by forcing Tesla to pay two wrongfully terminated days of company vacation to hundreds of employes, costing them over half a million in additional wages and having to scramble the vacation days for them that late in the year. They went into panic and had to rework the functions of our digital time recording system, so it won't be possible anymore for supervisors to "refuse" sick days. And the union lied to LAVG, because they were angry at me for informing our colleagues that the union representatives simply refuse to read their collective aggreements and other sources, instead bullshitting the workers there about how they would all be set up into higher wage groups and whatnot. I also informed my colleagues about corrupt processes in IG-Metall, like the latest legalization of Bernd Osterlohs bribe at VW by the german parliament. These things did not sit very well with the union, but they shouldn't have started bullying me after i recruited so many members for them and helped so many workers out... Crazy story... I could go on for hours about this. Point being: I never had to lie or shit on anyone and i got very good reason to get angry at what they have done to me. It's all their fault!
