Sweet, have a pump on TSLA stock following that bad news

daveo18 2025-08-07 03:03

*sad koala noises*

[deleted] 2025-08-07 03:51

it was up three percent yesterday for no reason whatsoever.

ShotBandicoot7 2025-08-07 04:15

No no, big reason: CEO posted some FSD Update promise withe 10x more parameters looking good. That was sure worth 30b$ in valuation pump!

BYD has been growing pretty fast here. See them everywhere now. And only see the one ugly ass Model Y refresh around.

ufoninja 2025-08-07 05:35

Are you me? Exactly the same experience, also starting to see loads of BYD sharks

Youngnathan2011 2025-08-07 05:37

I mean if you're in Liverpool, maybe 😂 But yeah, I'm seeing a bunch of Sharks too honestly. Not too surprised about it either

Lopsided_Quarter_931 2025-08-07 06:53

Zeekr has just released the 7X for a lower drive away price compared to the Tesla Model Y. That's gonna steal some sales being the much better car.

paulm1927 2025-08-07 11:25

And the xpeng g6, so many better options.

potatodrinker 2025-08-07 12:06

Seeing more Sealion 6s than 7s in my area, Sydney south. I guess people still like having a 60L fuel tank in case of range anxiety. Charging stations that aren't major hotels or Tesla are hit and miss. Some are offline or vandalised, or need you to BYO your Type2 plugs

New_Half_6055 2025-08-07 16:11

Zeekr? Xpeng? Are these Amazon storefront names? 😂

Puzzleheaded_Help328 2025-08-07 17:38

Nah it’s more expensive once you click through (at least in QLD, haven’t checked other states). For some reason Zeekrs delivery cost is astronomical, as well as their stamp-duty and registration costs. Hoping it’s an error. Base Zeekr drive away: $64,379 Base Tesla Y drive away: $62,783

[deleted] 2025-08-07 22:43

When are we getting these in the states?

ufoninja 2025-08-07 22:46

Australia no longer has an auto industry to protect and a bunch of trade agreements so we are getting a lot of choice right now.

Lopsided_Quarter_931 2025-08-08 01:41

I've seen someone post a table for WA and Tesla was $65,700 and Zeekr $64,400. Even at identical rpcies it;s hard to get over the fact how much more premium the Zeekr feels. seanmonaghan1968 2025-08-08 11:27

Zeekr is owned by Geely and is heavily influenced by the volvo team, similar to polestar

OllieeePan 2025-08-08 13:29

The 7x should really hit the Model Y sales in Australia once it starts delivery in October. You get actual stalks, instrument cluster, a very advanced AR HUD, some real buttons, sun shades, massaging seats, insane fast charging and etc which you don't get in the Model Y. The real downside is the efficiency, but that will be offset by the large 100kwh battery.

Lopsided_Quarter_931 2025-08-08 13:48

Yeah, it ticks all the boxes except efficiency.

Livinincrazytown 2025-08-09 10:31

Those sharks are awesome I want one

[deleted] 2025-08-09 21:09

No no, there was a reason. The reason is that sales are down in several countries, which is normally a bad thing for a company, but when it happens for Tesla its a sure sign of future success.

Suspicious-Ad8576 2025-08-10 14:10

Kinda weird the glee here considering 60% - 90% of Chinese ground water is undrinkable due to pollution but... sure... uhmmm... go ByD and Chinese manufacturing?

[deleted] 2025-09-15 09:54

Offshoring baby...
