Fools will believe. Only 5 months till nothing! Pending approvals. That is his out or failsafe

muskratboy 2025-07-27 18:22

At least half the country is close enough to an airport that they can fly to Austin, right?

PreparationBig7130 2025-07-27 18:24

When you look at the population data for the US you probably can cover half the population with targeting 4-5 major cities. Assuming of course you cover the whole city and its burbs rather than a relatively small cock and balls outline. Edit. Just looked it up. 39 metro areas.

Wolfgang_MacMurphy 2025-07-27 18:28

By end of the year? What year? 2045?

Maximum-Objective-39 2025-07-27 18:32

While I loathe Trump, if he wanted to destroy Musk, fast tracking his approval in all those cities and then complaining incessantly that none of Musks promises work and that everything of value in his companies was created by smarter people, would be the surest to destroy him. Crush Elon between the Right Wing Trumpist Cult and the Left Wing he betrayed. But I suspect Trump still thinks he needs Elon for something.

My guess, let end owners run their own taxi service with supervised FSD, owners doing the supervision.

KnucklesMcGee 2025-07-27 18:35

If there's one thing you can say about Musk, it's that he has no compunction about committing to the big lie.

trapercreek 2025-07-27 18:35

He’s in a contest w Trump to see whose lies can garner the most media attention & how many in the herd of boths’ cults might actually believe them.

Xenikovia 2025-07-27 18:35

Exactly what President Jared from Subway would say if he was running a public company.

Radarhog1976 2025-07-27 18:39

Bold face Lie!

Advanced-Purchase-58 2025-07-27 18:39

No, Trump just can’t think two moves ahead.

Doctor__Proctor 2025-07-27 18:39

While the US has dense urban areas, as your edit attests to, it's still a big country. 39 Metro areas? What is that, getting down into Cleveland territory in terms of metros? And he's going to do that in 5 months somehow...what a fucking joke.

[deleted] 2025-07-27 18:39

Well, if you cannot sell your shit cars....

Eringobraugh2021 2025-07-27 18:40

The fuck it will.

Maximum-Objective-39 2025-07-27 18:41

That's possible too.

Radarhog1976 2025-07-27 18:42

Trump/Musk lie every time they speak. Pathological! How’s the SF approval doing?

ansyhrrian 2025-07-27 18:44

Cover it with accidents, maybe.

AggressiveMail5183 2025-07-27 18:45

I think when he uses the word "cover" he means he is predicting cars will run over half of the US population by year-end.

noobgiraffe 2025-07-27 18:46

Article says that's 47 of the biggest cities. That's just around 2.5 cities a week. In their entirety. Easy.

Harotsa 2025-07-27 18:46

Also, metro areas are much larger than cities. The Boston Metro area stretches into Rhode Island for example

k-mcm 2025-07-27 18:48

There's no way half the population of the US will fit underneath Tesla's Robotaxis.

eschewthefat 2025-07-27 18:50

I was just doing the same. A little less than 150 counties spanning less than 5% of the area of the United States would cover it.

FeezingCold 2025-07-27 18:50

I was always advised to set expectations lower then exceed them - seems to be the opposite for Elon.

ManfredTheCat 2025-07-27 18:52

Amazing how many people can get away with just non-stop lying these days

KnucklesMcGee 2025-07-27 18:52

I suspect they'll apply for taxi licenses and call it good.

eschewthefat 2025-07-27 18:53

Elon uses sexagenary zodiac cycles. We’re still on schedule for the unmanned cross country trip that started in 2012

eschewthefat 2025-07-27 18:54

Yeah but their jacket is silver

Mars8 2025-07-27 18:56

We have like 4 months left in the year, this dude still on drugs lol.

eschewthefat 2025-07-27 18:56

Project 2025, page 690 describes the new 3/50’s compromise

Mars8 2025-07-27 18:57

He’s barely in 1 metro. Has a fleet of like 30 cars lol.

[deleted] 2025-07-27 18:57

Watch the stock take off on Monday... These freaking idiots.

[deleted] 2025-07-27 18:58

huh thought it was brown-nose.

RosieDear 2025-07-27 18:59

He's not even in a small percentage of one metro and not driverless and it is not working. Such a joke. The fact that many cannot see it destroys any hope I have in basic common sense.

y4udothistome 2025-07-27 18:59

Yeah ok time she will tell

PerfectPercentage69 2025-07-27 19:00

Dzayyy 2025-07-27 19:01

He didn't mention which universe/reality he's referring to. It's a YOU problem you assumed it to be this universe, ok?

AliveList8495 2025-07-27 19:01

Cover in blood?

Life_Personality_862 2025-07-27 19:05

He could send one of those cars and employees to 40 cities, rides available only by special invitation, in good daytime weather...presto, half population covered. Checkmate bears.

And he will drill a tunnel straight to Mars for the hyperloop.

SnooOwls5756 2025-07-27 19:11

If by "cover" he means: "sitting derelict on the side of the road everywhere" mabe?

EdOfTheMountain 2025-07-27 19:13

Man, Elon should become a republican politician! /s

dumpitdog 2025-07-27 19:13

[deleted] 2025-07-27 19:15

I wonder what Tesla will pay taxi drivers to drive “RoboTaxis”. Think it’ll be hourly? Per ride?

Shinnyo 2025-07-27 19:16

I feel like he's trying to see how far he can lie. And somehow he found out there was no limits.

LVegasGuy 2025-07-27 19:16

Those 12 robotaxis are going to be very busy.

y4udothistome 2025-07-27 19:19

I agree! At least so far. I think he’s running out of room as far as kicking the can is coming to the end of the road

And when he says „US-population“ he means straight, white billionaires and their straight, white kids. So this time it’s actually plausible.

ProdigalSheep 2025-07-27 19:34

Their only reason for speaking is to perpetuate untruths. To them, it is the sole purpose of speech.

HickAzn 2025-07-27 19:35

The real question: Is Dan Ives repeating this nonsense?

Moceannl 2025-07-27 19:37

The other Half is security watch?

Gambitzz 2025-07-27 19:40

lol. And the stock will go up too.

BlacksmithNZ 2025-07-27 19:48

That actually makes some sense; handful of private individuals running cars part time in every fully mapped areas would tick the box. Though if the owner is in the car, isn't that just a less popular Uber competitor? And owners competing with people running the cheapest possible solution optimized for ride share services. Tesla stockprice depends on services like FSD rideshare being wildly popular generating billions in profit. I can't see that happening quickly. Note sure about other competitors like Lyft, but Uber are already profitable, operate worldwide with number of well connected services like Uber Eats and if FSD becomes well proven then independent drivers/car lease companies focused on ride share, will just move into that space. How does that make billions for Tesla in the end?

ImpossibleShoulder29 2025-07-27 19:50

That's a lot of people to run over. /s

BlacksmithNZ 2025-07-27 19:54

Just last night, I saw an interview with a Trump supporter about why he thought Trump didn't release the Epstein files. The supporter said; *"Trump is a man of his word, and so I trust him to do the right thing"*. When you have people like that living in some alternative reality world, why not lie, as it clearly works in a society that no longer values the truth

neontetra1548 2025-07-27 19:57

People really need to start bursting out laughing in his face when he says shit like this.

Individual-Praline20 2025-07-27 19:57

If he says so 🤭😂🤣

[deleted] 2025-07-27 20:00

How is this not illegal market manipuIation?

VitaminPb 2025-07-27 20:00

I’m giggling uncontrollably about Musk being forced to put up or shut up by something like this. Well except for all the corpses and destruction.

VitaminPb 2025-07-27 20:01

Dressed in a white gimp suit and called Optimus.

VitaminPb 2025-07-27 20:02

They will be given a raffle ticket for the daily “Suck Musk” event.

GlitteringNinja5 2025-07-27 20:02

I feel like tesla is a social experiment on us

Smartimess 2025-07-27 20:03

He promised a million Robotaxis in one year six years ago. He is a well-known liar at this point.

nickg5 2025-07-27 20:03

He has to lie so he doesn’t lose literally everything

Barnowl-hoot 2025-07-27 20:03

Ew

henlochimken 2025-07-27 20:04

Trump just needs Elon to not spill the pedobeans he has on him

Barnowl-hoot 2025-07-27 20:04

The amount of environmental destruction to make that many cars….is horrendous

entinenmies 2025-07-27 20:04

I call BS.

VitaminPb 2025-07-27 20:04

I now believe it is compulsive lying. I’ve dealt with a compulsive liar but she would try to spin excuses so it was never her fault when she was called out. Musk is only called out online, never by the press or in person, so he can just ignore it or block the person.

VitaminPb 2025-07-27 20:05

I’m willing to bet they won’t apply for licenses. Just start illegally driving as taxis.

VitaminPb 2025-07-27 20:09

I just had an interesting thought. What if he claims Uber and Lyft drivers using Tesla vehicles are part of his HumoTaxi service even though he isn’t collecting revenue. Or he pushes and update requiring a subscription to support driving in one area for more than 3 hours a day?

FlipZip69 2025-07-27 20:11

And that will not be available but to a fraction of the population and likely only fanboys.

[deleted] 2025-07-27 20:27

Let’s see these things work in Minnesota in the winter.

[deleted] 2025-07-27 20:29

I think it’s plausible there is a mutually assured destruction scenario. Elon has the dirt on Trump, but it would also implicate himself. There’s no other plausible reason he was given the level of access he had after the election.

AbeLincoln30 2025-07-27 20:33

it's not drugs, it's a calculated strategy to generate free publicity. And look at it working

AbeLincoln30 2025-07-27 20:35

amazing that after all these years of Trump and Elon, so many people haven't figured out that these guys say outrageous things on purpose... and when you get outraged, they win

secretlyjudging 2025-07-27 20:38

That’s going to be millions of jobs? They’re gonna need a ton of safety people to sit in those cars

pigindablanket 2025-07-27 20:38

I mean when there is no accountability or repercussion, of course.

foo-bar-25 2025-07-27 20:42

So…an electric taxi.

LowRes 2025-07-27 20:46

Oh no, he knows that RFK Jr. is going to kill 340 million Americans by the end of the year

d0kt0rg0nz0 2025-07-27 20:47

Never will I ever even look inside of a tesla let alone get into one.

TAKANOGENJI 2025-07-27 20:48

jason12745 2025-07-27 20:49

Sure, geographically. It will still only serve 35 hand selected “customers”.

PalmHills 2025-07-27 20:54

He was donating tens of millions of dollars to Trump and other Republicans. I hate Trump but I think it sorta worked. People were focused on Doge, which took some of the heat off for immigration and other policies.

Here's your friendly reminder of the definition of a crime: Securities fraud, also known as stock fraud or investment fraud, is a serious white-collar crime that involves deceptive practices in the stock or commodities markets to induce investors to make decisions based on false information.

And those metro areas have ✨Metros✨ And also ✨Public Transit✨

They’re still in cahoots, I suspect. DOGE and spending cuts were all cover so Musk could terminate the investigations into him and his companies.

Cover, as in “over”?

No.

LVegasGuy 2025-07-27 22:29

That is an eventual fantasy of Elon's but no way it's happening this year.

FlappySocks 2025-07-27 22:32

Maybe he is being optimistic, i don't know. They are expanding the test area, so the data so far must be ok.

SoFLDude 2025-07-27 22:35

😂

LVegasGuy 2025-07-27 22:38

He is having a hard enough time getting Tesla owned robotaxi's working you think he can get Tesla owners working by the end of this year? Knowing Elon he will handpick 10 Tesla owners.

FlappySocks 2025-07-27 22:40

Why are they expanding the service area if it's not working?

LightMission4937 2025-07-27 22:40

Jfc. Sure. It won't even cover half of the degenerate state of Texas.

0o0o0o0o0o0z 2025-07-27 22:41

> Fools will believe. Only 5 months till nothing! Pending approvals. That is his out or failsafe Man, I want to try some of that Elon Ketamine... shit must be WILD!

LVegasGuy 2025-07-27 22:42

Because Elon wants to make it look like he is making progress. And that he can draw a penis. They are still using safety drivers.

Vegetable_Guest_8584 2025-07-27 22:51

Stock price doubles

yukonnut 2025-07-27 23:13

By “cover” does he mean run them down?

kveggie1 2025-07-27 23:21

Over promise, never deliver as promised. (he lost me with "production hell", he is an amateur with a big mouth, like trumpf.

Technical_Beyond111 2025-07-27 23:50

Apparently he thinks enough steps ahead to have won the presidential election in a ridiculous landslide and continues to push his agenda through. Probably not as smart as you, though.

Bibblegead1412 2025-07-27 23:55

He's just telling stories of moves he made in the '80s at this point.....

Me with a straight face: No. No it will not.

Xollector 2025-07-28 00:05

Wow is there going to be some cataclysm in the US that reduce population by 99.999% or something ?

Surprised he didn't say in two weeks.

Red-FFFFFF-Blue 2025-07-28 00:41

Musk could have focused on the top 50 metropolitan areas 10 years ago and that would have been 50% or more of the US population and 99% of his addressable market.

flabbywoofwoof 2025-07-28 00:43

He and Trump have a lot in common with keeping their promises.

Apptubrutae 2025-07-28 01:10

But half or more of the U.S. population can fly to those cars and then maybe get in one. Basically worldwide coverage, actually

RCA2CE 2025-07-28 01:29

This should be illegal - it sounds like misleading shareholders

Salt-Cold-2550 2025-07-28 01:29

Icy-person666 2025-07-28 03:58

Key word is cover. When it's running over people they are technically covered by Tesla.

MyUserName-NYC 2025-07-28 04:34

He needs Elon to keep his secrets and keep away from the Republican Party as to not destroy both. Elon knows way more than anyone will ever know.

gravtix 2025-07-28 04:41

Cover in tire tracks maybe

r2002 2025-07-28 05:54

Maybe he means Teslas will be covered by half of US population by end of the year. The slow ones anyway.

Fiss 2025-07-28 06:12

With Leon you have to ask specifics; he didn’t say the end of what year. It’s definitely not happening this year

ConkerPrime 2025-07-28 06:19

Dude so use to the Musk fanboys eating the shit he shovels that he forget they are a tiny minority of the whole. Probably will goose the stock enough to make it worth saying.

svmk1987 2025-07-28 06:32

The only way this becomes true is if he either kills or deports 99.99% of American population by year end.

Ok_Acanthisitta2951 2025-07-28 07:27

I'll believe waymo can complete the mission. fsd ?LMAO

He is a pathological liar. Just like Trump.

nlaak 2025-07-28 12:29

> ridiculous landslide Lol! >Probably not as smart as you, though. Ironic, coming from someone that doesn't know what a landslide win is. But you go ahead and let your mama tell you how smart you are.

bikesnotbombs 2025-07-28 13:16

Technically 1 car in each of those cities would service theoretically it's entire population

Double down, heck, triple down, this guy always overpromises and underdelivers.

40% of the country chose to not vote for either side, trump only won by a small majority of the other 60%. There was no "landslide" victory, let alone a "ridiculous" one. Trump said live that he only won because Elon knows those voting computers like no one else, not a very smart comment to make at all.

QISHIdark 2025-07-30 01:56

I want to know what drugs he’s been taking to get such confidence.

spiritplumber 2025-07-30 05:44

and by "cover" he means "run over"

[deleted] 2025-07-30 06:27

Half the US population will be covered in that they will be within a short 5 hour flight to Austin where they can take a beta ride in one of a dozen cars doing <200 miles/day. You know…Covered.

Sanivek 2025-07-30 12:17

Didn’t he say by the end of next year? Still a wild timeline.

Physical_Delivery853 2025-07-30 20:39

He also rightfully claimed Trump's a Pedo, while ignoring the fact his brother & him have the closest relationship to Epstein than anyone according to researchers.

[deleted] 2025-07-31 01:07

He could not be more wrong, he lost my business in January, every penny business. His daddy don can hop in one🙄

LargeDietCokeNoIce 2025-07-31 06:14

When, O when will we stop taking this pretentious silver spoon trust baby as a serious person? He’s a walking catalog of mental health issues. Or here’s a better question: what is WRONG with our society that the most unstable, dishonorable, and straight-up terrible human beings find their way to the top of almost every institution? While the rest of us grovel at their feet because we have to eat and pay for a roof over our heads.

daspyknows 2025-07-31 07:44

Half the population will never get in a Tesla robotaxi and the other half won't be covered.

daspyknows 2025-07-31 07:47

Tgats why he needs Musk. So Musks hackers can steal another election.

[deleted] 2025-07-31 11:11

Time for another Tesla stock Rally!??

wiebols 2025-07-31 12:05

Gotta do something with the unsold cars - call them the cyber taxi- hopefully the glue will hold. Most likely he’ll get a govt handout

base2-1000101 2025-07-31 13:06

I've wondered if Elon is grifting or mentally ill. I think this statement points towards mentally ill.

Appropriate_Art_6909 2025-07-31 16:35

So he means they will be running over 50% of the people on sidewalks by December? Got it. Sounds like the kind of products Elmo makes.

Common-Violinist-305 2025-07-31 17:57

😂

N3ver_Stop 2025-07-31 20:49

Hahahaha. Yea, sure thing elmo and katy perry is an astronaut.

UtahUtopia 2025-08-01 00:24

Have any reporter asked him about his past lies about delivering a product?

OkJunket5461 2025-08-01 00:34

His definition of robotaxi is a Model 3/Y using FSD with a driver in the seat If they give FSD to all the Uber drivers in the US that drive for Uber they can probably hit that metric nearly overnight

[deleted] 2025-08-01 01:11

American people are seeking criminal charges against Elon Musk and his associates who illegally accessed our Social Security IRS and confidential Medical data. We want accountability.

shortyrocker 2025-08-01 02:36

And they dress up like Total Recall Johnny cab.[Johnny cab](https://www.speculativeidentities.com/public/assets/research/johnnycab/_researchMedium2x/Johnnycab_Main.jpg)

NeverLosesAtPoker 2025-09-17 17:10

Then how'd he become the President of the United States twice when nobody thought it was remotely possible he could even win the Republican nomination once?

NeverLosesAtPoker 2025-09-17 17:10

Yet somehow is the best/brightest that the US has to offer. Imagine how dumb the general population in the US must be.

NeverLosesAtPoker 2025-09-17 17:11

Is this really your argument, that he confused Sioux City with Sioux Falls? New to politics I see.

NeverLosesAtPoker 2025-09-17 17:12

You could say that every election.

beren12 2025-09-17 17:54

Social media, no problem with contradicting lies, stupid people, and collective hate/racism/sexism And don’t forget a heavily edited reality TV show to make him look good And for the second time? I don’t know, but his statements “I don’t need your votes. We already have the votes” is mightily suspicious especially when you combine it with “Elon Musk knows these voting machines very well”
