This guy is the best clown on earth, he lost all its credibility

DisplacerBeastMode 2025-07-24 05:23

He's right actually, and this will happen around the same day the cyber truck becomes the #1 selling truck in the US. /s

notlongnot 2025-07-24 05:28

July is ending. Ah the “PR” language of free speech saids some lawyers.

yamirzmmdx 2025-07-24 05:30

Making something available and people actually using it are just really different. Good luck with that.

Quercus_ 2025-07-24 05:31

Bwaaaaahaaaaaa. Snort. Guffaw.

Name_Taken_2017 2025-07-24 05:35

Cybertruck will be the #1 selling truck in the World by the end of the year!

sicknessF 2025-07-24 05:44

Also in Mars!

Ok-Patient583 2025-07-24 05:45

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

AceMcLoud27 2025-07-24 05:45

Yeah, "probably". What a fucking asshole conman.

Dommccabe 2025-07-24 05:47

Ask him to put his money up against this as a bet. I bet it wont.

Janky_Forklift 2025-07-24 05:50

Bro I’m certain his lawyers are busy with other stuff than PR review lol Edit: At least he pays his bills.

Janky_Forklift 2025-07-24 05:53

Hypothetically, if he could pull this off and it actually worked, I really wonder how many people would use it. I imagine waking up and I need to leave but my car is still charging and some stranger puked in it. Also they stole my phone charger.

pawpawpersimony 2025-07-24 05:54

Space cadet needs to lay off the ketamine. 🙄

notlongnot 2025-07-24 05:58

Well Tesla is getting sue for false advertising in CA regarding “self driving” and I heard their lawyers claim “PR” language as protected speech. Didn’t dig deeper

th3bigfatj 2025-07-24 06:05

No one believes him anymore

ShotBandicoot7 2025-07-24 06:08

Ask who? 🍈? He has a metric shit ton of money stacked against it.

AntiqueFigure6 2025-07-24 06:17

And maybe they also stole your shoes and your bicycle so walking and cycling are impossible?

Odd-Adagio7080 2025-07-24 06:19

He can’t just lie like that, can he? The CEO o Feb a publicly traded company? I guess if he says “I expect. . . “ that that’s just an opinion. What a load’a horse shit.

[deleted] 2025-07-24 06:21

LOL

Janky_Forklift 2025-07-24 06:23

Lmao did they really? Jfc. I’ll take your word for it.

Janky_Forklift 2025-07-24 06:24

Pooped in my shoes and yes, my bike is stolen. They left the rack at least!

affemannen 2025-07-24 06:24

PoutineFamine 2025-07-24 06:25

I’m shocked the stock is down only 4% /s

[deleted] 2025-07-24 06:27

Elmo is a ketamine clown.

SakaWreath 2025-07-24 06:30

Everything is always just around the corner with this guy. Including the Tesla that you just hailed, you better go get it before it gets away.

SakaWreath 2025-07-24 06:31

He must have an earnings call coming up.

Secondchance002 2025-07-24 06:33

Yet his stock keeps climbing. That makes American investors and financial institutions bigger clowns.

Secondchance002 2025-07-24 06:34

Ketamine is hell of a drug.

lothar74 2025-07-24 06:34

Even assuming that he could actually make this happen (which we all know he cannot really do so ever without drastic changes to how Tesla approaches autonomous vehicles), what would make this so profitable? How will Tesla ever make money? There are so many competing ride options including Waymo, Uber, Lift, and others (which don’t make tons of money), plus taxis, public transit, etc, all of which do a great job serving transport needs. If this was to be “groundbreaking” and create the revenue they’re hyping, all other ride options would have to cease so Tesla was the only option. That’s not going to happen, so they’re just pumping billions into an over saturated market with low margins. But I guess that means this meme stock will go up 10% on the news.

88888_account 2025-07-24 06:36

I confirm some American investors are clowns as well yep

sidc42 2025-07-24 06:38

That was on the earnings call that happened yesterday

Namerunaunyaroo 2025-07-24 06:39

I read this, and then did exactly this.

Stewth 2025-07-24 06:43

Those of us that know a thing or two about manufacturing wrote him off with the "sub-10 micron" email and those that were left went after the "humans don't need lidar to pathfind, why should cars" statement.

Keyboard-Amazon 2025-07-24 06:45

"could have a few rough quarters" After Q3, I don't see any improvement in numbers for Tesla in a while.

[deleted] 2025-07-24 06:46

xMagnis 2025-07-24 06:53

[removed]

SpecialBeatForce 2025-07-24 06:57

While I'm critical of the hype myself, your comment sparked a thought: Tesla has a unique edge over Waymo and Uber. Setting aside the need for hardware upgrades in older vehicles, Tesla can just sell FSD subscriptions directly to its owners. They don't have to operate a ride-hailing service themselves. Instead, they can market the 'let your Tesla earn money' fantasy, essentially profiting from the idea of passive income—similar to how gyms profit from unused memberships. Of course this does not apply to the robotaxis

kampi1989 2025-07-24 06:58

Sounds logical and achievable. Therefore, the next compensation package should not be 56 billion, but at least twice as large.

Creepy_Wash338 2025-07-24 07:04

Does he mean parking lots full of unsold Teslas in half the US?

Creepy_Wash338 2025-07-24 07:08

Yes. People don't like the brand anymore. Those who hate Musk will just be like, "nah, I'll take an Uber.".

CunningWizard 2025-07-24 07:13

Ron Burgundy: “I don’t believe you”

lipobat 2025-07-24 07:24

Someone should really ask him a direct question about the “regulatory approvals”: which regulations exactly are blocking Tesla “autonomy” at federal and state levels? From the Tesla CA lawsuit just two days ago it was evident Tesla hasn’t even applied for a CA permit for driverless operation. I would not say “regulatory approvals” are the block if one never even applies for an approval.

Apprehensive-Box-8 2025-07-24 07:42

Didn’t he say at the last earnings call before that, that (again) unsupervised FSD will be available by the end of this year? Now it won’t even be an unsupervised ride hailing service across the entire country?

daveo18 2025-07-24 07:45

“*Musk says*” That’s how you know it’s bullshit.

Mejiro84 2025-07-24 07:54

That runs into practical issues though - 'my car is being used 12 hours a day and breaks down all the time and insurance won't cover it. Also, the inside needs vomit and piss cleaning off.' it seems it would be (another) short-lived bubble before reality, and low returns, catches up with it.

donutknight 2025-07-24 07:57

Step 1: Claim absurd product release timeline but do not even apply for any regulatory robotaxi permit (CA officials stated that Tesla did not apply for any permit, despite claiming that robotaxis will be roaming in CA next month). Step 2: Blaming authorities for not being able to meet the timeline. Rinse and repeat.

[deleted] 2025-07-24 08:00

Not "next year" but "end of this year". Is it rebranding?

MattGdr 2025-07-24 08:48

“You’re doing a great job, Brownie!”

meatbag2010 2025-07-24 08:57

Lol. End of the year. He didnt mention which century that would be in though.

LizardKingTx 2025-07-24 09:06

“Expects to” = it won’t happen and it’s not my fault

GoodFaithConverser 2025-07-24 09:12

Subject to regulatory approvals, of course!

Withnail2019 2025-07-24 09:20

>Instead, they can market the 'let your Tesla earn money' fantasy, essentially profiting from the idea of passive income Well no they can't because FSD is not a 'turn your Tesla into a robotaxi' service. It's just assisted driving.

noobgiraffe 2025-07-24 09:28

People did the math, they could cover 50% if they handled 20 biggest cities with surrounding areas. That means they would have to cover one new entire city PER WEEK.

gwenver 2025-07-24 09:36

Think how dangerous the roads would be if this came to fruition. Millions of autonomous Teslas... It would be carnage out there!

“You have potential” 🤥👉

NotAnotherEmpire 2025-07-24 11:10

Musk has been promising his $30k People's Car for so long the price point has become absurd.

imdaviddunn 2025-07-24 11:12

1. Other companies can license Waymo platform (Ford and a Japanese company I forgot are already on discussion) 2. If that happens, people wouldn’t want 20 apps. Actually would be very bullish for Uber. This won’t be a moat. On another note, if this is profitable, why wouldn’t investors just buy a ton of cars and corner the market in any location? Just like taxi services did. Or, even the government with public transportation. Instead of bus stops, just get fleets of vans that drive around similar to accessibility vans that go door to door. I think the personal rental concept is way oversold as the competitive implications aren’t really presented. It’s basically a pitch deck.

SilkySmoothRalph 2025-07-24 11:17

I reckon that’s the real deal here. Tesla “buys” the unsold inventory off themselves to use as robotaxis. Blame regulators for inability to rollout nationally. And as if by magic Tesla’s sales look great again.

Ok-Bill3318 2025-07-24 11:17

phate_exe 2025-07-24 15:59

6. the entire time you're struggling to develop the robotaxi itself, scale the fleet, and become profitable Uber and Lyft have been providing a better ride-hailing experience by just paying people to drive the cars.

Sharkwatcher314 2025-07-24 16:04

phate_exe 2025-07-24 16:14

>How will Tesla ever make money? There are so many competing ride options including Waymo, Uber, Lift, and others (which don’t make tons of money), plus taxis, public transit, etc, all of which do a great job serving transport needs. Exactly, people like to talk about "Robotaxi vs Waymo" as if the main competition is with other companies developing autonomous vehicles. But you're actually competing with *everything* that can take customers from point A to point B. Outside of "this is cool and futuristic", the most perfect autonomous taxi imaginable isn't going to offer anything to make the ride experience meaningfully different than a smooth human driver that doesn't talk. I think a lot of people will *try it* once or twice because it is objectively neat. But outside of weird techbros it's just going to become yet another option to choose from based on cost and how soon they'll get there to pick you up.

SophonParticle 2025-07-24 16:15

lothar74 2025-07-24 16:52

Stewth 2025-07-24 17:54

I missed that one. I'm sure it was a cracker

nolongerbanned99 2025-07-24 18:24

Yeah. Habitual liar

phate_exe 2025-07-24 18:24

Oh that was purely a commentary on the concept of a robotaxi service as a product/business model in general. Absolute best-case it's just another ride hailing option to choose from as far as customers are concerned. It would have to be *way cheaper* to be competitive, and realistically I just don't see the difference being that massive once you factor in the fleet operating costs that Uber/Lyft offload to their drivers, and the inevitable profit taking..

Corrie7686 2025-07-24 18:37

He didn't say they were safe....he said they would be available. 🔥

Remember when people earnestly thought this dude would take us to Mars?

Stewth 2025-07-24 22:49

I guess I always kind of just ignored him, and only saw the most high profile of his stupidity Edit: as an engineer, I have never once said, in any context, "I know more about {thing} than anyone alive". About anything. Even things that I am a recognised technical authority on. Anyone who *did* say that would rightly be laughed out of any engineering workgroup I've been part of.

Stewth 2025-07-24 22:55

Oh god. I forgot about that. Printing code for review. I am a control systems engineer, so while I wrote a lot of code (and ladder logic) it's very different to software dev for the most part. Having said that, I do know that if anyone asked me to print any of my code for review I'd laugh in their face and start looking for another job.

Difficult_Limit2718 2025-07-24 23:11

Twitter only has so much reach

AustinBike 2025-07-24 23:20

Let me help you understand how asterisks work. * = Availability includes any adult living in the greater metro area or travels to those areas. Right now it is in Austin, so it is available to the ~1.5M people that live there and anyone that travels there. If AUS gets 500,000 visitors a year, they have 2M people that it is “available” to. Because you have to be over 18 to use any ride share service, you cut the total market down even further. All he need is one robotaxi in a metro area and the claim would stand.

scumbagdetector29 2025-07-25 00:06

Yeah, those satellites they use to coordinate drone movement are totally not interesting to the Russian military. Twitter. Lord help us.

hirs0009 2025-07-25 00:36

It's was going to all crash down before the election, that is why he helped Drump, they both needed to save themselves from prison

th3bigfatj 2025-07-25 01:36

Or they want others to believe them (or consider them exaggerations, not lies) So many of them say he's always right just on Elon time (because he *has* accomplished some things but they were primarily doing things that others couldn't afford to do, such as the way he relies heavily on government subsidies and fundraising rounds)

nolongerbanned99 2025-07-25 01:49

Enuf said. That’s what drives trump amd musk and bezos and their ilk. Like it’s never enuf

beyerch 2025-07-25 02:31

"Subject to regulatory approvals....." Code for ...... easy excuse to protect my lie . .

[deleted] 2025-07-25 03:02

No way even Musk is buying that bullshit.

Chapleau86 2025-07-25 03:17

Remarkable_Ad7161 2025-07-25 04:32

A decade of snake oil and people still buy it.

Gloomy-Employment-72 2025-07-25 05:17

I'd say the guy in the White House would give him a run for biggest clown. At least Elon's not a pedophile.

Ok_Woodpecker17897 2025-07-25 05:56

By the end of the year… this guy keeps delivering every year 😂

StanchoPanza 2025-07-25 07:16

if i took a shot every time i heard Musk say "subject to regulatory approval" i'd need a liver transplant

Red-FFFFFF-Blue 2025-07-25 10:19

Almost went bankrupt with that one.

IncreaseOk8433 2025-07-25 10:51

He's just bullshitting again because he knows his simps will dump money in, as usual and he'll have an out when it doesn't happen; there's no way he's getting regulation after the shit he's pulled with Trump

HellovahBottomCarter 2025-07-25 11:28

I watched a video recently where someone clipped together Musk saying “we’ll be ready for autonomous driving by the end of the year” for over a decade. At this point it’s his annual affirmation and little else.

[deleted] 2025-07-25 11:31

Subject to regulatory approvals. California is fighting to disallow his vehicles to be sold in that state. At least he left himself on out.

john_dawson 2025-07-25 14:02

And if you believe that I have a bridge for you

Ill_Aspect_633 2025-07-25 14:54

Musk is so full of it. This isn’t going to save Tesla from backsliding. How does he think that robotaxi is a win in a saturated ride share market. Waymo seems to have the advantage at this point and uber isn’t going anywhere either. when only about half of Tesla owners have ever paid to use FSD I don’t see that many people willing to give up their personal car to use a service like robotaxi on a regular basis. We as a country would be way better off financially investing in public transportation and walkable communities than more car centric infrastructure with fewer cars footing the bill for road repairs if a ride share boom did occur.

Maleficent_Lock3044 2025-07-25 15:37

Ha ha haa hahahahahha

Buggg- 2025-07-26 00:33

It’s part of the S&P500. There will be constant purchases for it by this alone due etf balancing. He also knows what to say to keep far too many people as believers- either actually believing him or fearing to miss out on the run. I’ve missed too many runs because I don’t believe in the blind FOMO so many people have. Don’t forget- the 10+% drop in the U.S. dollar has also falsely inflated the value of the stock market.

crockett05 2025-07-26 02:31

It must be a Musk is kissing Trump's ass again week...

Rob71322 2025-07-26 18:18

How many silly predictions has this man made over the years?

Rob71322 2025-07-26 18:19

What level of educational attainment (or just common sense) does one need to be an investor?

Rob71322 2025-07-26 18:20

And he said “subject to regulatory approvals” so he’s already got his excuse worked out.

Emergency-Rabbit4819 2025-07-26 22:32

Who says he's not a pedophile?

Emergency-Rabbit4819 2025-07-26 22:37

Don't know what'll happen with the DMV case, but one person won their small claims suit against him in Sacramento County this year for failing to deliver promised full self driving. Tesla paid including interest. Not in the news, but look it up. You'll find it.

notlongnot 2025-07-26 23:10

Ya, he also settle for the 2018 case in the bay area where Tesla car veer into the middle of the freeway divider killing an Apple employee. https://abc7news.com/post/lawsuit-filed-in-deadly-fiery-tesla-crash-in-mountain-view/5278752/

MezzMezzrow1138 2025-07-27 13:52

Right, Elon. And we’ll all have robot butlers on Mars

Emotional_Goal9525 2025-07-27 17:58

What? Machines at the production line moving so fast that you need strobe lights to see them and air resistance aren't the two biggest issues in car manufacturing? Yes. Those are real things. The grifting got really weird at one point.

deschain_19195 2025-07-28 01:24

The amount of bullshit that comes out of his mouth while his cars get lost in parking lots

[deleted] 2025-07-28 03:38

The big biggest question......you wanna get picked up in one of those? E-bike to train station for me. I am so grossed out, creeped out......... by an Elon robot in my home. YUK I do love the CT look. The price was a NOGO. The colored wraps are so sweet. But again.....do I want Elmo anywhere near me and my Family? Hard NO The F150 Lightning was my vehicle of choice when I plopped down $100 deposit. BUT, the price I thought I would pay.....$50k after $7,500 FITC and $2,250 Connecticut rebate turned to $70k. A bridge too far. Then I thought......wouldn't it be great to kill everyone in USA who isn't blonde haired and blue eyed? That worked out pretty well for the last guy! Then I thought.....hmmmmm.....my 2 daughters 27 and 30 y/o would love to create little Elmos......who needs: Family, love, kindness. Why would anyone want love? Marriage? DIgnity? My girls woulda been soooo much better off with no Dad and accusing Mom of being a whore slut Gold digger.......no grandparents? right on you stupid drug addicted hate lover.
