stekene | 2025-07-22 16:16 | 24 views

> In a real-world validation win for Semi, Tesla has seen two major companies, ArcBest and “thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services,” complete extensive, multi-week pilot programs for the Tesla Semi. > The results were overwhelmingly positive as these companies used the Semi for thousands of miles over challenging terrain.

Elon will never think about you.

SpectrumWoes 2025-07-22 16:28

Oh word, they haul bags of chips too?

EmilyFara 2025-07-22 16:30

How much tons did they carry? How fast did they go up hill?

Wolfgang_MacMurphy 2025-07-22 16:32

Let's hope they won't run this thing on FSD.

I-Pacer 2025-07-22 16:38

So both those companies are also run by Nazis?

jason12745 2025-07-22 16:39

2 and a half years later, still no specs and no price. Just a bunch of unverified info from Tesla patting themselves on the back. This publication is so terrible.

Meanwhile in China Electric Semis are nothing special any more and in Europe, Iveco, Scania and Mercedes drive throughout the Continental from Norway to Spain fully electric in commercial use.

meatbag2010 2025-07-22 16:48

Where's the link? The only semi will be Musk on seeing this post.

dtyamada 2025-07-22 16:56

Yes suspiciously little data about the actual loads they were carrying.

Asteios 2025-07-22 16:58

This sub is rabidly anti-tesla so don't anticipate getting too much love on this post lol great to hear the trials went well though. Excited for the Tesla semi!

If you can't trust an author who's a bear named blaffy, who can you trust?

At the Semi launch Musk claimed they had self driving tech that was 10x safer. And that their convoys were faster than rail. "We can do this now, today". To my knowledge it has never been even mentioned by anyone at the company since.

Engunnear 2025-07-22 17:39

And empty beverage cans!

KoffieA 2025-07-22 17:39

And Volvo

Wolfgang_MacMurphy 2025-07-22 17:48

10x safer than what? Their current self driving tech that is used on Robotaxis and elsewhere? By what metric? That does not sound reassuring at all.

Chemical-Idea-1294 2025-07-22 18:14

Yes, all the big players have their functioning trucks out here.

Chemical-Idea-1294 2025-07-22 18:17

Only that the competitors have their trucks in commercial use and up for sale already (Europe&China)

SpudsRacer 2025-07-22 18:24

Haven't heard much for Lex lately. Good.

CetisLupedis 2025-07-22 18:25

ArcBest selected a route with supercharger at both ends, the company specifically mentions that this is not a normal route. Despite this, they still only managed an average of 321 miles per day, which doesn't seem useful for OTR trucking. [Source.](https://share.google/xRbriTBcO5rIqE8uG)

kneejerk2022 2025-07-22 18:36

haHA! It's easy to forget about Tesla's ~~semi~~ fully broken promises after all this time. So a Tesla supplier has a glowing report on the truck? How about 2017 pre-order company list? Here's the list: PepsiCo Sysco JB Hunt Meijer JK Moving Loblaw Fercam Girketa Ryder DHL Fortigo Flexport Best Transportation Mecca & Son Trucking These companies should grow a backbone and sue Tesla into oblivion.

Ragnarok-9999 2025-07-22 19:01

common on, if it is so good, why Tesla is not making tons of them ?

ExcitingMeet2443 2025-07-22 19:33

Meanwhile in the real world: >Volvo has sold over 5,000 electric trucks globally, reaching a significant milestone. These electric trucks are operating in approximately 40 countries, with a strong presence in Europe and North America

Zorkmid123 2025-07-22 22:09

They still haven't sold any Tesla Semis for years.

neonmantis 2025-07-22 23:13

10x safer than current trucking safety at the time, whatever that means, supposedly. Always these lovely round numbers. Dude should be in jail

Engunnear 2025-07-23 15:59

Of course it's not useful, unless you need to ship things from one charger to the next.
