>Finding shade was easier when his Department of Government Efficiency effort was churning 120 hours a week for the Trump administration. That came to an end for him in late May. Now Musk is burning hot (if not always 100% focused). Stop giving him credit for hard work. He had a gaming rig in his Washington office, FFS. Despite, you know, never using computers or something.

Sunshine3432 2025-07-13 18:41

I could churn 120 hours too if everything was done by others, and nobody would argue with me if I make hundreds of comments online and watch youtube on paid time

kneejerk2022 2025-07-13 18:55

He'll replace them all with a couple of Optimus interns and a big balls intern.

luv2block 2025-07-13 19:43

Tesla's Chief Operating Officer now goes by the name BigBalls; and only Bigballs. Not Mr. BigBalls, just BigBalls.

noobgiraffe 2025-07-13 20:12

Everyone thinking he is hard worker should check his twitter account. He tweets/likes/retweets something amost every half an hour through entire day.

FlipZip69 2025-07-13 21:15

“Thank you for your contributions,” Musk—who has a way with goodbyes—told his outgoing chief executive at X, Linda Yaccarino, on Wednesday. That is all it takes to 'have a way' with goodbyes these days? Jesus that article made him out to be... Jesus.

whirlwind87 2025-07-13 21:15

Does he talk to Mr. Japan?

za72 2025-07-13 21:48

This I believe is referred to as a puff piece - PR plant, it's target audience is not you, it's target is wsj type investors...

DisplacerBeastMode 2025-07-13 21:50

He needs to fire people to give the implication that it's their fault that Tesla stock is dropping

dtyamada 2025-07-13 21:59

It gives him something to put on his 5 bullet points for the week ;)

big-papito 2025-07-13 22:21

The guy was always into performative bullshit. "Look at me! Working hard! Sleeping on the Tesla factory floor!" Which is what he did, actually, but most likely he was just in everyone's way. If your idea of work-life balance is sleeping in the office, you are going to go insane, which is exactly what happened to Musk. Also, try that WITHOUT the cocktail of uppers every day.

KnucklesMcGee 2025-07-13 22:31

Sounds likely. This guys companies all seem to be shit, and the common factor is Musk (save SpaceX where to all indications they have minders to minimize his impact).

PrinceGreenEyes 2025-07-13 23:01

Uppers burn you eventually because you dont let body and mind regenerate.

za72 2025-07-13 23:22

he's a hype man, the only way to keep the shareholder interests is to announce a miracle tech every year to keep the hype up as they try to make baby steps... that's great IF you can make it to the end with the baby steps, but FSD and Mars are fucking LOOOOOOOONG ass away, I'd take his claims more seriously if it wasn't so obvious... he's a sales bot, I deal with a handful every week..

AdministrationTop772 2025-07-13 23:58

He thinks that's work.

Darmok47 2025-07-14 00:00

I read that as sarcasm.

DeviDarling 2025-07-14 00:03

If his employees tweeted that much, what would he say about that? It sure is easy for him to suggest others work 80 hours a week every single week.

FlipZip69 2025-07-14 00:05

I would possibly believe that but the entire article was on the rather rosy side in their assessment of his capabilities.

BigMax 2025-07-14 00:07

Exactly, and he was tweeting like crazy, responding to tons of other people's tweets. So that was just his social media use. We'd all sound like we worked a lot harder if we could say "oh yeah, anytime I'm doing anything online, its work."

[deleted] 2025-07-14 00:14

Its because he thinks that the time he is present at the office is work, even when it consists of shitposting on Twitter.

Fluffy_Charity_2732 2025-07-14 00:53

and he needed a special forces squad to hold his hand to go use the office bathroom. Guy is a toddler

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-14 01:22

To him working is being there somewhere in the building. It's why he truly doesn't believe he's lying about his hours because he's probably actually there in person with negative productivity: he causes issues that everyone else has to clean up.

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-14 01:24

>If his employees tweeted that much, what would he say about that? Depends. Nazi propaganda or some "woke lib BS"?

big-papito 2025-07-14 01:37

Nazi soldiers found out, after being on speed for 3-4 years. You become a wreck.

ReferentiallySeethru 2025-07-14 03:55

Just to give context. 120 hours a week is over 17 hours a day. You’d have to be working literally every waking minute every day. Like, when’s he going down the K-hole?

brhelm 2025-07-16 11:21

Or having 56 children?

[deleted] 2025-07-18 10:10

When does he mow is grass? Maintain the house? Cook food? Take care of his children? People who brag about their work hours are just shitty people avoiding responsabilities outside of work.
