Yet another nail in the coffin.

th3bigfatj 2025-07-04 12:55

"Without FSD tesla is a zero" - elon musk he said that back before tesla had declining sales in 2024 and now 2025. Back when he said that, Tesla's sales were growing 50% years over year. He knows sales aren't what matter to this stock promotion scheme, it is just perception. At the robots silly? Yes! But they're several years where people can justify a stock valuation that's 20x higher than you can possibly justify otherwise.

Engunnear 2025-07-04 12:56

“What do I need to do to put you in a new Tesla today?”

Jonesy1966 2025-07-04 12:57

That was the first thought I had when I heard the news a couple of days ago! Does the board honestly think think this is a good thing??

Role_Player_Real 2025-07-04 12:58

It’s because Elons right hand man wasn’t willing to be shady enough to fake deliveries to reach the numbers Elon wanted

Scrutinizer 2025-07-04 13:00

"Tesla makes the best cars at the best prices! Just compare - there's no way you can NOT SEE it!"

mekanub 2025-07-04 13:00

This will end well. I’m sure Elon can find some humility and apologise for his behaviour that ruined the brand and certainly won’t double down on everything.

RandallC1212 2025-07-04 13:04

So thats a wrap then. It's so over.

RuskiesInTheWarRoom 2025-07-04 13:07

Excellent, this will solve the problem, surely.

hypespud 2025-07-04 13:08

Absolutely, if the problem is Tesla, and the solution is it disappearing completely

Mars8 2025-07-04 13:14

He’s about to lose his EV tax credits. It’s a big deal. When showing you the price of the car on the website, they are showing you price with EV tax credits applied. For the lower end models, that’s an 18% increase in price after credits are gone. 38k with credits vs 45k without.

Fuskeduske 2025-07-04 13:14

Thanks, English not being my primary language, i don’t really read it as English in my head.

Pribblization 2025-07-04 13:16

johnkoetsier 2025-07-04 13:16

Oh that’ll totally work /s

[deleted] 2025-07-04 13:17

lol, that’s exactly what the company needs is more Elon Musk.

amahendra 2025-07-04 13:17

Elon doesn't like to pay for advertisers. So, he is going to pay even more influencers now. Embrace for more something like, "The best car in the world", "Look at my beautiful MYLR", and "FSD just saved my life!" titles on your social media feeds!

PassiveSpamBot 2025-07-04 13:17

Makes sense. The sales slumped because he wasn't present enough. /s

za72 2025-07-04 13:18

I hope he uses a cybertruck approach to sales improvement

Ella-W00 2025-07-04 13:21

Breaking News: Elon Musk takes yet another job he is not qualified for.

Silicon_Knight 2025-07-04 13:22

Yes, good idea. Put the person responsible for people not buying TESLAs, in charge of sales. Galaxy brain shit.

MJFields 2025-07-04 13:23

Another opportunity for him to reveal his ineptitude. Buncha naked emperors running around these days...

Nonsense_Producer 2025-07-04 13:24

The arsonist is now personally in charge of the fire department. Will be fine and dandy.

EasyJob8732 2025-07-04 13:25

It's like tesla walked into the shower and grab a piece of turd as soap to clean itself...let's see how well that works.

EveningCandle862 2025-07-04 13:25

yeah, that will really help in Europe....

RCA2CE 2025-07-04 13:25

All he has to do is stfu

gartherio 2025-07-04 13:26

Ah yes, the Nicholas II method. Maybe Elon should go ask him how that went and stay there.

scarr3g 2025-07-04 13:26

This literally could be part of it. He KNOWS he is wealthy enough that anything he does that is illegal will get him, at worst, a slap ok the wrist, or normally, just be ignored. And he probably thinks he is so smart he can fudge the numbers in a way that no one will catch him.

[deleted] 2025-07-04 13:27

OMG I feel so sorry for my ex coworkers ... Elon's idea of management is sending a stupid one liner email to the whole company with a subtle threat at the end. To everyone, You guys need to sell, prep and deliver 12 cars each day all by yourselves otherwise the company and the planet will die. Thanks, Elon

NotAnotherEmpire 2025-07-04 13:28

The Tesla board is totally captive to Musk.

[deleted] 2025-07-04 13:29

Ha!

Nano_Burger 2025-07-04 13:29

I hear that he is going to stage baseball throwing events at dealerships.

hookem98 2025-07-04 13:31

He's too juvenile to make up normal sounding numbers, so expect announced US sales of cyber trucks in Q3 to total 69,420.

Sunshine3432 2025-07-04 13:31

420 bro, go to mars with self driving bro

splintered-soul 2025-07-04 13:32

He should just use his vast wealth to buy up every Tesla and then reports will show that sales are through the roof, stock goes up and Elon gets richer and repeat. The cars don’t even have to be built, just keep on those numbers /s

Numzane 2025-07-04 13:32

I hope he appears in his own advertising. Pleeeease

Rescurc 2025-07-04 13:33

“You need to sell it to me for -$60k” would be my answer

JohnHazardWandering 2025-07-04 13:34

Skip the coffin and just use a cyber truck.

JohnHazardWandering 2025-07-04 13:35

They were dumping new cars to the used market already, so I doubt that.

UnicornGangstar 2025-07-04 13:35

This should be great. I bet his new sales slogan will be: Tesla, go fuck yourself.

thelastbluepancake 2025-07-04 13:37

this reminds me when hitler took over the jobs of the generals..... I expect similar results

Temporary_Shirt_6236 2025-07-04 13:40

That coffin being a fancy stainless steel box with panels rotting and falling off.

luv2block 2025-07-04 13:40

The guy who tells customers to "go fuck yourself", is now in charge of sales. If you wrote this shit in a movie plot, studios would throw it in the trash and say it was too fucking ridiculous.

Trades46 2025-07-04 13:40

I love how oblivious he is to the actual root of the problem of the brand.

SplitEar 2025-07-04 13:40

Lmao, surely that’ll help!

Facktat 2025-07-04 13:46

I know German car makers aren't doing that great as well (but also not worse than Tesla right now). Just to shine some perspective on how absurd the situation is. Tesla has a stock price to net tangible asset ratio of 5%, German car makers have net tangible asset ratios of around 150%. I know that it's normal to put random numbers out of your ass when trying to make a point but your 20 times higher estimation is spot on right without exaggeration. Tesla holders should really let this sink in.

CaptainXakari 2025-07-04 13:48

He can fake the numbers but the overall income will continue to drop. He can fake deliveries but without actual sales, he’s just kicking the can further down the road.

Busy-Chemistry7747 2025-07-04 13:48

Final nail in the coffin

Eastbound and down reference

No_Rutabaga_2182 2025-07-04 13:53

This is Elons bait and switch. Tesla has always been the promise of something better tomorrow. Something worth getting in line for now. Like all bubbles it will pop. As you mentioned they don’t actually build anything or have anything in the pipeline remotely to justify their valuation. It’s always been speculative.

lovely_sombrero 2025-07-04 13:55

More like they are true believers.

Karl_Hingus 2025-07-04 13:55

Yeah but regular nails and coffin won't do for this asshat. Well need a lead and concrete sarcophagus .

rand0mm0nster 2025-07-04 13:56

Right? As if the problem is sales. Nobody wants to buy the brand

whyohwhythis 2025-07-04 13:56

I don’t think he realizes he’s the problem.

potatodrinker 2025-07-04 13:57

Sir-Hingus 2025-07-04 13:57

Get ready for more mess

flounderpants 2025-07-04 13:58

Let’s break it and fix it later

Facktat 2025-07-04 13:58

The problem bothering me with Tesla isn't that it's speculative. I am fine with speculating that a company might release the next thing. My problem is that every serious investor knows that Tesla will never release something meaningful and everyone is just speculating on the stock going up on the next ridiculous claim well knowing that Tesla will never deliver. I understand that some Muskians are stupid enough to believe him but there is just no way in the world that investors holding 99% of Tesla believe a word Musk says. They aren't in for Tesla actually delivering. They are in expecting to ride the ponzi as long as it goes, expecting to leave the ship before the shit hits the fan. I honestly think that Tesla still have air to go much higher but will set a world record for burning a trillion within a day. I know that many people laugh about constant claims of Tesla failing but if you read old news paper scans you see that people made the same claims about Ponzi and were laughed at. It was obviously that it's a scam at some point but this didn't prevent people from investing because the profits were too good.

Aprilias 2025-07-04 13:59

Here's elon and his dog Spot! I'll stand on my head, Until my ears turn red, Go see musk, Go see musk, Go see musk! I'll eat a bug if we can't make a deal!

Bow-Masterpiece-97 2025-07-04 13:59

I’m sure he won’t do anything shady or illegal to artificially boost sales numbers on paper.

aea403yyc 2025-07-04 13:59

Good luck lol

jason12745 2025-07-04 14:00

> If anyone can turn this around and have the Model Y return as the Best-Selling Vehicle of 2026, having just missed out by a few thousand vehicles to the Toyota RAV4, it is Elon. Only the man who caused all of our problems can solve them. Thats some great thinking right there.

PerfectChard4439 2025-07-04 14:02

Like that’s gonna help buddy.

dtyamada 2025-07-04 14:05

People rarely see the problem when they are the problem. Surrounded by yes men so he has no clue.

GhostofBreadDragons 2025-07-04 14:05

I expect he is cooking the books, but I have to wonder how long he can get away with it. I need to go back and look at Enron and try to figure out how long a company can kick the can down the road before it leaks to the investors.  At this point it is a Ponzi scheme.

[deleted] 2025-07-04 14:05

New sales promotion: When you buy a Tesla now, you can pick a Palestinian child from a booklet of starving kids and Elon will have them bombed for you.

journeyworker 2025-07-04 14:11

Hey board of trustees- are you actually going to allow this to happen?? People now fully understand why they despise musk. The smart move is to divest him of any public facing position. Hell, can him, if you want any chance to recover sales

HarryCareyGhost 2025-07-04 14:12

You need skilled accountants to cook books in a non-obvious manner. Elon has no such skills.

GhostofBreadDragons 2025-07-04 14:19

I think the only real check on him is the large investment funds. At the same time it looks like they might be in on it. All of the different funds keep propping Tesla up, despite the glaring problems.  That is why I call it a Ponzi scheme.

Voltasoyle 2025-07-04 14:20

I am afraid constant growth is in the cards, I really want to see the elmo empire collapse, but I am sure they will do some dumb stunt like spazex buying 20 million optimus robots or something from tzla for taxpayer money and stock goes up.

Musk who tweeted "Canada is not a real country" and then wondered why sales are now at zero in Canada?? Yup he will save sales in Canada. . .

alochmar 2025-07-04 14:21

Okay this is hilarious

SocialJusticeAndroid 2025-07-04 14:22

Geez, I didn’t know that. “…roughly 100 U.S. firefighters are convicted of arson each year.” Pretty scary! I guess it makes sense though like corrupt cops (which I would imagine are much more common). Fortunately: “Fire-fighting organizations are aware of this problem.” Hopefully that means they are being proactive in identifying, purging and prosecuting them.

beholden_to_colden 2025-07-04 14:37

That has to be a big one. Isn't it at least a billion dollars in "free" profit each year? And straight from his competitors accounts, lmao.

KnucklesMcGee 2025-07-04 14:38

So will Elon fire himself as he continues to miss sales targets?

mtaw 2025-07-04 14:38

They’re belivers in the way Niels Bohr was a believer in the horseshoe he had above the door of his home for luck. When a colleague asked ”Surely a physicist like yourself doesn’t believe in that superstitious nonsense?”, Bohr replied ”Of course not! But I’m told it works whether you believe in it or not.” The board is getting rich regardless of what they actually believe, they just need to keep up appearances while they sell their stock.

Flat-Opening-7067 2025-07-04 14:38

Get ready for more firings in Sales. They’re going to tell him (correctly) that nobody wants to buy his cars because he’s such a jerk. He’s going to be in denial and fire them for “incompetence.”

Quirky_Tradition_806 2025-07-04 14:41

... Trump's econ policy eliminated both EV tax credits and regulatory (carbon) credits, which have been critical to the company’s profitability. In Q1 2025, Tesla reported $409 million in net income—but that included $595 million in regulatory credits.  So, Musk paid for self-destruction. Big beautiful catastrophic fall from lies to naked lies.

Mars8 2025-07-04 15:24

To put it into perspective. Tesla only started becoming profitable in 2021, partially because of the money they received from the government to keep them afloat during COVID and because of Biden incentives. In 2024 they made 7 billion in profit. In 2025, their sales so far suggest a 20-30% decline with the last quarter of the year projected to be the worst since EV credits are disappearing. My estimate is 5 billion profit for the year. 2026 profits will come under 3 billion after all subsidies and government credits will be gone at this point. No amount of number gymnastics Elon is doing to over inflate numbers is going to hide this.

Chippopotanuse 2025-07-04 15:27

Madoff did the same thing.

Right now the stock is $30/share worth of auto manufacturer and 2 $150 hyped up lottery tickets (robotaxis and robots.) that depend on Elon.  The only reason the lottery tickets aren't $5/each is Elon.  I fully expect them to turn out close to worthless but the board (and more importantly investors) can't unload Elon until the lottery tickets have lost their value.

asexyshaytan 2025-07-04 16:01

The decline is sales are becauss of Elon

AustrianMichael 2025-07-04 16:02

Q3 is going to be 8814

[deleted] 2025-07-04 16:03

That’s not how that works.

MUCHO2000 2025-07-04 16:05

For real. Elon has no idea how to retail vehicles and if anyone is looking for proof I submit the cyber truck. A 13 year old's fantasy brought to life.

AustrianMichael 2025-07-04 16:05

People like Sawyer Matt are soooo cringe already…don’t know how it could get any worse…

LivingDracula 2025-07-04 16:07

Because the guy single handedly responsible for tanking sales across the world by going full Nazi Seig Heil on MLK and funding the oil and climate disaster regime is completely capable of turning around said sales.... Honestly, investors would be better off pulling out of all Tesla, SpaceX, Neurolink deals and doubling down on Lucid, and all the other companies founded by the actual founders who got booted by Elon. Could easily see a 10x return.

AustrianMichael 2025-07-04 16:07

You know the scene in Der Untergang where they‘re all in the bunker and talking about the Angriff Steiner that hasn’t happened. That‘s how I imagine meetings about Robotaxi and other vaporware…

VitaminPb 2025-07-04 16:08

Doubtful given the way they are dumping stock without buying more.

VitaminPb 2025-07-04 16:10

They can dump Elon once they get all their shares sold, which is in process.

Less_Tacos 2025-07-04 16:10

Disembowel the CEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VitaminPb 2025-07-04 16:10

Need to make sure it stays shut when Elon tries to claw his way out.

ProgramNo7236 2025-07-04 16:14

Stock will skyrocket on this news

[deleted] 2025-07-04 16:17

Remind people why they don’t want to buy Teslas even more. Front and center. That’ll help🤦‍♂️

mishap1 2025-07-04 16:18

"We will need to be extremely hardcore," “Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade,” [https://time.com/6234390/musk-twitter-staff-email-hardcore/](https://time.com/6234390/musk-twitter-staff-email-hardcore/) Just put everyone in the company in perpetual crisis mode constantly until everyone quits. Just ignore the fact his leadership is how they got here in the first place.

mishap1 2025-07-04 16:19

To be fair, he's in charge of that decision making too.

Beginning_Shoulder13 2025-07-04 16:19

Mmmm I wonder what kind of welcome he is expecting over here. We fight Nazis in Europe. We don't imitate them and we don't particularly like people who think that's funny.

Hinterwaeldler-83 2025-07-04 16:21

People stopped buying Teslas because of Elon so now Elon will make people buy Teslers?

drcforbin 2025-07-04 16:24

Oh I know what he should do! Set up a little DOGE and start firing people at random. If it's good enough to do to the country it should be good enough to do to tesla

Martzillagoesboom 2025-07-04 16:27

Wasnt he getting deported yet?

reaven3958 2025-07-04 16:40

[deleted] 2025-07-04 16:45

He can sell Tesla stock, to buy teslas, to increase the value of his remaining Tesla stock. Easy fix.

TallGreenhouseGuy 2025-07-04 17:12

Down 58% in Germany first half of 2025 compared to last year. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/teslas-german-car-sales-continue-fall-june-2025-07-03/

Brokenandburnt 2025-07-04 17:14

Did you miss the press release that said "Optimus output is paused". Yes, apparently it's a leadership shakeup, plus hardware AND software upgrades.\ The poor soul that is already responsible for both the AI and FSD divisions now got Robotics aswell. And a drug addict as Chief of sale. But we all know the score, bullish for the stock.

Ok_Nefariousness9736 2025-07-04 17:16

I thought Tesla was pretty much dead in the EU? Euros were standing up for what’s right. Unfortunately, not the case in NA.

Ok_Excitement725 2025-07-04 17:18

It’s literally a rudderless ship. How on earth do the shareholders and board let this keep happening??

FromThePits 2025-07-04 17:22

If that wont get the europeans to buy cars, nothing will

CapableProduce 2025-07-04 17:30

I hope Europe boycotts them harder now! Does this mean that if sales continue to decline, Elon will fire himself?

propervinegarsauce 2025-07-04 17:30

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. This won’t work.

c0wt0ne 2025-07-04 17:30

He shouldbdo the opposite of what he thinks, but im cheering his destruction, so I want him to follow through

pzerr 2025-07-04 17:32

That was a rather biased article. Nothing like ignoring massive glaring issues then at the end suggesting if anyone can turn around Tesla sales, it would be Elon.

pzerr 2025-07-04 17:33

Is the Trump problem. He wealth can not save all people and will throw them under the bus as necessary.

pzerr 2025-07-04 17:35

That is extremely high. 6,420 will be a high number. Officially they are selling less than 2000 a month now.

GroundbreakingCow775 2025-07-04 17:36

North_Ranger6521 2025-07-04 18:06

Oh yeah. That will help. A ketamine-addled nazi is just what they were missing in the sales department.

SlimDevilWarlock 2025-07-04 18:08

I fully expect the robotaxi and robot businesses to be worth less than $50B and probably worth less than $10B which along with the $100B auto manufacturer gets you to $30/share. The Koolaid drinkers value these lottery tickets at about $450B each based on Tesla's market cap. I suspect reality will beat down the price of these lottery tickets to reasonable levels eventually but firing Elon would do it in a day. I hate Elon but the board's only play is to hope he somehow keeps the morons on the hook long enough that either useful businesses develops or they can sell their shares before the bottom falls out.

[deleted] 2025-07-04 18:16

That'll fix it!

Ekandasowin 2025-07-04 18:18

JRLDH 2025-07-04 18:24

JRLDH 2025-07-04 18:29

I am genuinely impressed that he apparently has no problems finding employees. There's one thing being motivated and working hard. It's a totally different thing if it becomes apparent that you work for a total moron.

Throwaway10005415 2025-07-04 18:34

At one point in my past I was ready to drive teslers for the rest of my life because the convenience of the superchargers network and auto pilot. But now, I will never, ever buy another tesler. Elon could call me personally and try to sell me one and I would refuse. If I were to get one for free or as a prize I would sell it

Musicman1972 2025-07-04 18:40

>If anyone can turn this around ... it is Elon. I'm thinking no.

curiousitymdg 2025-07-04 18:45

Riiiiiight. The guy at the heart of the problem thinks he can fix it. And ONLY he can fix it. 100% Elon.

[deleted] 2025-07-04 18:51

Sure he’s a Nazi and he’s done irreparable damage to the company and its image but you know what this company on the brink of destruction needs? More Elon! That’ll fix it.

Practical-Cow-861 2025-07-04 19:11

Well he's right about one thing, it's not a car company. Tesla, the "largest" automaker in the world that is coming for Toyota's crown has never even beat the #7 brand, Suzuki, in world wide sales.

yupgup12 2025-07-04 19:13

Who's he gonna blame when he fails to turn things around? Probably the Deputy Head of Sales for North America and Europe.

whisperwrongwords 2025-07-04 19:20

A literal dumpster fire

One-Employment3759 2025-07-04 19:34

They would have to buy car storage from me for $60k/year

One-Employment3759 2025-07-04 19:35

Board: Yes, let's put the cause of the decrease in sales in charge of the sales. That will fix it.

jaaagman 2025-07-04 19:40

Yep, that'll work. The problem with European sales has nothing to do with Elon. Absolutely nothing.

beaded_lion59 2025-07-04 19:56

He directly caused the sales crash, how does he think he’s going to fix it? That’s insane.

Odd-Adagio7080 2025-07-04 20:16

HA! He’ll start suing people for not buying his cars. Remember when he said “Fuck Apple! We don’t need them”, because Apple stopped advertising on x? Because Apple didn’t want the risk of their ads running next to hate (I mean “free”) speech? And then a week later claimed he was going to sue them because they weren’t advertising on x??? What a choad.

sonicmerlin 2025-07-04 20:17

It’s difficult to emphasize just how much of a self destructive idiot he is.

Skinnybet 2025-07-04 20:18

Skinnybet 2025-07-04 20:20

With a chainsaw and Hitler salute at the end.

Odd-Adagio7080 2025-07-04 20:25

I know a woman who used to work for Enron. Lost touch with her, but even after that company went down and her 401k decimated with it (employees were forced to buy company stock in their 401k’s), she was STILL claiming two years later that the company’s collapse was the fault of government regulation. I was like, “Yeah! Regulators said they weren’t allowed to practice illegal accounting and the were practicing illegal accounting!!! So I guess technically you’re right.” Apparently that kool aid taste lingers for quite awhile.

dantespair 2025-07-04 20:42

Is he going to pay us each $100 to take one off his hands?

Aggravating_Exit2445 2025-07-04 20:46

Musk is the marketing equivalent of toxic waste at the moment. I'm not sure it is a wise move to have him involved in any way. Not even sure Tesla is recoverable as a brand.

TheFoxsWeddingTarot 2025-07-04 21:32

If one of those floppy tube fan guys that are outside car dealerships became a real boy, Elon Musk is the boy they would become.

Dry_Care_5477 2025-07-04 22:00

chitoatx 2025-07-05 05:02

It’s not just the rebate. Energy Generation & Storage was a fast growing business (10 billion with 67% year over year growth) and then you have the whole FSD debacle. $8000 (down from $15000) to purchase FSD which is not realized: “We consider autonomous driving … less than two years away” (June 2016) Those buyers paid 15k on a promise that was never realized in almost 10 years.

catslikepets143 2025-07-05 05:51

No one wants to buy a Swasticar , Elon. You could give them away & people would not drive them.

CheetahTurbo 2025-07-05 07:09

Can he be fired when next quarter sales decline twice as much?

Worksnotenuff 2025-07-05 08:27

So…. He’s doing the exact opposite of what his investors and employees wanted? While the Tesla board has sold way over half a billion worth of shares? (Or is it over a billion by now?) Elon seems manically interested in doing business the old German bunker style.

Working-Tax-2439 2025-07-05 11:20

Here I thought that rats are the first to leave a sinking ship……

neonmantis 2025-07-05 12:38

Whilst the US regulatory regime was always poor and has now been gutted further, the EU tends to be far stricter. Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Amazon have all had billion dollar fines from them.

neonmantis 2025-07-05 12:40

Don't forget the other one he expressed joy in that had no direct impact on him whatsoever, killing the world's foremost aid agency that was responsible for providing food and medicine to the poorest people on earth. He's a monster.

[deleted] 2025-07-05 12:45

Wow this " if anyone can do it Soon can" attitude is amazing. He made some good moves buying a company before it got big but the dude is a drug clown. He is not as smart as he thinks he is and he'll botch this too

soldieroscar 2025-07-05 15:29

nlaak 2025-07-06 14:31

> I’d need them to throw in an insurance policy so they have to pay if it burns my house down before I can flip it. If they're giving me $60k to take a vehicle, I'll just park it in the street.

jaimi_wanders 2025-07-06 15:23

And his brother is on the board as well, so nepotism factor.

jaimi_wanders 2025-07-06 15:24

Theranos but still avoiding auguring in (for now)

jaimi_wanders 2025-07-06 15:29

It’s because in order to be a good firefighter, you have to be the kind of person who won’t break when you have to walk through fire in full gear. There’s a literal flame room that is part of their training. So you have to on some level “love the enemy” — this is a known psychological hazard and firefighters are actually taught to watch for signs of getting seduced to the flame side in themselves and their buddies, according to a neighbor kid who grew up to be a fireman. (He said the flame room test was terrifying but also awesome.)

jaimi_wanders 2025-07-06 15:30

Renault’s electric SUV looks impressive, too. And it’s not made by a Nazi…

Ragnarok-9999 2025-07-07 01:19

SocialJusticeAndroid 2025-07-07 12:42

Interesting perspective. And all the scarier!

Icy-person666 2025-07-07 13:09

Like the board of directors of most companies.

SocialJusticeAndroid 2025-07-07 14:27

Heh, yah if the firefighter’s union is similar to, and as corrupt and powerful as, police unions, it would be next to impossible to get rid of bad ones. Hopefully, however, the firefighter culture is different and they don’t tolerate bad guys in their ranks like cops very often do.

pzerr 2025-07-07 15:51

No it isn't. The CEO of Ford gets paid about $125 per employee per year. That is all compensation in. And Ford sells a lot more vehicles than Tesla. Musk alone wants to get paid 50 billion dollars. That is equivalent to $500,000 per employee. Musk could pay the wage/compensation of the Ford CEO for 2000 years. Please do not compare this to most other companies.

Icy-person666 2025-07-07 19:31

It's all a good old boys club with most companies. The CEO are all bord members of their buddies companies. As long as they don't do anything majorly illegal or upset major stockholders all is good.

pzerr 2025-07-07 21:06

While you could legitimately argue many are paid too high, as a percentage of employee wages, typically they are not excessive. IE. Ford CEO could forgo his entire wage and the employees will only see a 125 dollar yearly increase. What you see on TV is not reality when you make that kind of statement. Ya there is a wealth inequality issue but there are not a bunch of board memebers sitting as old boys clubs. What is happening at Tesla and a few other companies (Reddit is one) is that they are taking billions in compensation. Not 20 million.

Icy-person666 2025-07-07 21:40

I don't watch TV but I have been an independent investor for decades and have been in a few investor suits for breach of duties. Honestly most companies are run by good old boys who loot the companies for their cronies. Now I just profit from the pump side and dump the stock near the peek and profit. I've made and lost more money on paper than you probably will ever earn by actual work or I've ever made that way. You too could be a paper millionare, I was in the dot-com era.

pzerr 2025-07-07 22:30

I made about 3 million in Vermillion Energy during the Covid period when oil prices went negative. Made also a great deal the last two oil crashes in 2000 and 2008 but not like I did during Covid. I also sold an wireless internet company/division for a 8 digit sum 2 years earlier and still sit on the board for two companies. One being the original company that split off the internet division. I also deal with a lot of small to large companies as part of the services but that is now minimal and mainly deal with government project. So you never know who you are talking to but when people make these kind of internet echo chamber claims, they typically are watching too much TV or they are on Facebook too often.

birdman1752 2025-07-08 00:43
