This site features 2 750kW chargers powered by 2 V3.5 cabinets (the same ones used on normal v3 and v3+ superchargers) per stall. It features the MC1 connector only used for the "legacy" version of the vehicle not the version that will be produced in the new Semi Factor in Nevada when it opens this year. It is unclear why this charger was built or why it's public given Tesla has strict control over who can use the Generation 1 Tesla Semis.
Very cool!!

Did you put your tongue on it to test it like a 9V battery?

Great... Another proprietary charge plug? Like Christ's sake we have MCS already...
Does anyone else see Ontario CA and have to remember this is California not Canada
Is is this California?

It’s easy to look back in this was 20/20 vision as this came from a time when Elon was a lot more believable. The events since then have shown - and proved - otherwise. There were still doubters of the CT back in 2019, and Elon’s track record still wasn’t strong, but there was little reason to doubt this. Obviously the missed deadline with the Roadster from 2018, the Semi, the delays of the CT and the missed specs, continued extensions of FSD - though getting there! - where Musk said (in 2016) [the car could drive itself from coast to coast without an occupant](https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-autopilot-fsd-coast-to-coast-demo-update-elon-musk/) in two years. This barely happened at the end of 2025, but with a driver.
Living in Ontario Canada; YES!
My understanding is that this is an early draft version of MCS before it was finalized, used on earlier Tesla Semi prototypes. The production version of the Tesla Semi will use the final standardized MCS connector: https://evchargingstations.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/20260103-204646.jpg

I was confused why it would have started in Ontario until I saw this comment.

I think it's frowned upon having a public semi
Haha my company has an office in Ontario (California) and it gets me every time
It could be something with Pepsi needing it for routes in that area.
So not actually mega? I thought they could supply up to 1.2MW?
Living in Ontario, California, also yes.
CA is California.
Is this the California that's in the US?
Where is this exactly?
that’s funny seeing tesla semi chargers when they’re not even released to the public yet
Yes. Interestingly, the guys who named Ontario, CA were from Ontario, Canada, so it isn't a complete coincidence.
Does anyone know why here??
CA is also Canada... (And yes the have an Ontario too)
As is tradition
That's the V4 version
Sorry haha that didn't occur to me
It's hard to tell but the cables actually have a built in protection system that makes it harder to cut and if they're cut they spray ink uhhh explosively I guess is the best word
Yes
4265 E Guasti Road, Ontario, California according to [https://www.basenor.com/blogs/news/tesla-opens-first-la-area-megacharger-what-it-means-for-semi](https://www.basenor.com/blogs/news/tesla-opens-first-la-area-megacharger-what-it-means-for-semi)
It's not proprietary and is not the version that will be used for the nationwide network
The TA Travel Center in Ontario California
Presumably one of their partners needed one in LA
Yum
So it should’ve been called “New Ontario”?
Ontario airport is a big shipping hub. It has a massive Amazon section for example. Also, the Inland Empire, which has refers to San Bernardino and Riverside counties, is known for warehouses and last mile logistics
I got invited to do a presentation at a conference in Ontario, CA. Excited thinking about good Canadian beer, I accepted. Went into our travel system, submitted the request. Arranged my air travel - then tried to reserve a room at the listed hotel. California!? Emailed and unaccepted the invite - then had explain to the budget folks why I needed to cancel the trip and air travel.
“Nontario”
Sorry, but even as an American myself my first thought was Canada…
Offtario?
I grew up in Ontario California!
I recently heard that the founder of the California city was originally from Ontario, Canada and that's why he named it that.
Nuevo Ontario.
And some random EV will be parked sideways in there to charge for a few hours. 🤣
I had that on my resume and the company asked if I needed visa and international relocation
Thankfully driving area is semis only
Thanks
1.2 Million watts btw
Hehe some of us are exhibitionists
Weren't Megachargers supposed to be 1MW or higher?
don’t block the fuel island!
That's the version using V4 cabinets. This uses V3.5 cabinets.
750,000. This isn't the version using V4 cabinets
Frito Lay
oh, it suddenly not as interesting anymore.
Why make it public if it's just for one company?
Because at the time they thought they might open up to more companies. Years went on and Frito Lay filled all the required hours of testing they needed.
Funny that the abbreviation for Canada and California are both CA. Not confusing at all, eh? 🙃 Yeah I was definitely confused why it was in Canada until I read the comments 😂
Yeah “public”? Can individual owner/operator truckers buy a Tesla Semi today?
Yeah, I live in Ontario, California as well and I remember my high school teacher telling me about that lol. Apparently the city has a lot of history.
How fast could that theoretically charge my Samsung 25 ultra?
There's some dude on Instagram, he's making these videos telling historical facts about all the local cities. The videos are ai slop, but the history is neat.
Diftario?
Wasn't the cyber truck supposed to be mega charging compatible lol?
Permanently spicy
Let's goo 😁✨🚀
>How fast could that theoretically charge my Samsung 25 ultra? I can picture you plugging in your phone and it instantly blowing up from all the power
giant ps5
Wait, are the semis on the road already?!
Californian to Canadian: We don't think about you at all!
Ah okay
I wish they'd just bite the bullet and peel off the car business from their AI nonsense. The stock price is clearly tied to Elon and his AI promises, not the realities of car manufacturer. Just give me a company focused on making EVs, EV Semis, Solar, Battery, etc. Shit, with the subscription model for FSD, that revenue can even go to the AI company.
No clue, but that company was an early adopter.
That is a ton of power. For context, a typical residential distribution circuit in that area which feeds 10000 homes could be running at 3-5MW on a cool day. That one charger is almost equivalent to half that amount.
The tongue or …
Meh...when I tell people I live in LA they think Los Angeles. Louisiana is just way too long.
I was at a truck stop a couple of days ago that had a newer (LCD display) v4 Supercharger and the handle of that thing was all worn like this one. I usually go to another one closer to my home with v4 and none of the handle look like this. Is Tesla making those things out of the same material as the steering wheel and headrests? /s
Well, how did it feel?
I specifically searched for this sign in Ontario, CA when I drove from Ontario, CA! https://preview.redd.it/t2s6b1q9uyng1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=62d1fb34c03429941f4b27b282983c67f2027b67
Looks like it is at one of the giant truck stops in the area. As a former truck driver I can tell you that parking is scarce and unless they've got someone there to patrol the chargers, they will be taken up by diesel powered trucks camping out for their federally mandated 30 minute breaks. Truck stops are always taking away parking places in an effort to monetize more of their land. They will also be hit by people pulling in and out. Nothing stays nice at a truck stop.
Does the new not legacy version of the semi have a NACS connector? Or something else?? Would be cool if they can pump enough juice through NACs
MC2. NACS is "only" rated for 1MW. MC2 is rated for up to 3MW
So pardon the ignorance. Does the Tesla semi require 2 rapid chargers or are there 2 charging spots? I know gas trucks have a tank on each side and require to pumps. Just curious
2 charging spots
approximately 3
Meanwhile established and new Chinese truck companies have BEV semis on the market and on the road already for over a year now.
These are 1MWH ! Amazing.
They're 750kW. These are not the new chargers designed to charge at 1.2MW.
Right through to the end of your life..
That is one chonky connector.
Likely grant funding requirements
Makes sense because over here Ontario is off of the 15 and the 10. 15 goes from Canada to Mexico and 10 goes west coast to Florida Live nearby
I dealt with a Telecom vendor ConvergeOne out of Ontario CA for years. I still get this wrong 😆
Does anyone else think those cables look skinny asf to support over a megawatt of charging sustained? Obviously there’ll be a curve so the system won’t be too stressed but like…why not make it thicker?
Thats the Reason why I love normal Cars
Is this site actually a supercharger facility or is it from BP Pulse (TA)? I don't see it available on the Tesla or BP apps
I know you were joking, but that would certainly be fine to do. It takes a ton of communication between the car and charger before any significant voltage is put across those lines.
The S25 has an approximately 20Wh battery. At 750kW, that is 750,000 Watts/hour. 20/750,000 = ~0.00003 hours or ~0.1 second for a full charge.
Thanks.
Probably helping Pepsi out for partnering with them so well on this. A good-will install to support their trials, perhaps?
All those protective yellow barriers are nothing against the flip flop wearing warriors who will come to conquer that piece of charging land soon.
There is no way to confuse the 2 because Canadas only innovation is importing bodies from india.
looks expensive
Only 750? Why not 1000? China already has 1000+
Looks like PS5 consoles lol
What if I told you there’s a Philadelphia st in Ontario California.
I wish I got a pick saw one charging super cool
That's a beefy charger tip 🥵
actually spit my coffe out. Very well done!!!
I agree, and now they’re trying to build stupid robots that don’t work 😕
Can't wait until they start deploying more chargers. Slowly building up the domination and I'm here for it!
it's a different connector
Surely a grant funded site wouldn't accept units with temporary/proprietary connectors?
The eventual production version will use [Megawatt Charging System](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megawatt_Charging_System) (MCS).
I’ve seen about 10 tesla semi trucks on the 10fwy so it makes sense
Awww man.
