Why not 69,420?

Deathstroke5289 2026-03-01 21:28

No margins for shenanigans

psychoacer 2026-03-01 21:30

Tesla is a very serious company

michoudi 2026-03-01 21:40

I have no idea if this is a price increase or decrease.

D1TAC 2026-03-01 21:42

And back to wishing it was $59k, sad they only did a 10 day thing. Recipe for how to lose customers.

DocZo 2026-03-01 21:43

Completely boneheaded moves by Tesla lately. Instead of price shenanigans, focus on making better products with more range.

foolbox 2026-03-01 21:45

This company is an absolute clown show, and it’s so obviously one person making all the most idiotic decisions.

m1keyc 2026-03-01 21:45

Exactly. Tesla is done

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-01 21:47

They’re actively trying to drive away customers. Removal of autopilot (3/Y) and now doing a rug pull on a really good CT pricing change.

ThottyThanos 2026-03-01 21:56

Im pretty sure the whole company isnt focused on thjs price shenanigans 🤦‍♂️ this isnt how a company works they dont allocate their entire resources to doing something.

mikemacman 2026-03-01 22:02

Overpriced.

RojerLockless 2026-03-01 22:04

If they would have let me buy fsd with it I would have bought one at 59

alphatangolima 2026-03-01 22:05

Didn't they say the $60k price was going away on March 1st?

Thisisaninues 2026-03-01 22:06

Most people wouldn't want to buy it at even $45k. Maybe they want to discontinue it soon.

MLFarm1902 2026-03-01 22:10

That’s what I expected the price to go back up to, it’s still cheaper than a Rivian R1 and has better spec than that first base model they tried.

omnibossk 2026-03-01 22:11

They got so many orders they can’t deliver until 2027, they won’t lose anything on jacking up the price

Dontbedoingthat 2026-03-01 22:13

Yes, it is. Hope this helps.

dantodd 2026-03-01 22:16

They are not trying to drive away customers. Musk said it was temporary pricing and raising the price makes those who already have an order feel better about the price they paid and makes it more likely they will actually buy the truck because it is now $10k more than the price they are going to pay

MN-Car-Guy 2026-03-01 22:22

Tesla offered the Model S for $69,420 Edit: who downvoted? Yes, Tesla offered the S for exactly $69,420 in response to Lucid. New to Tesla??

RyanB95 2026-03-01 22:23

What’s your measure for “done”?

williamtech814 2026-03-01 22:29

This is the very same behavior Tesla wanted to avoid by not selling through traditional dealers.

Mean-Evidence-4056 2026-03-01 22:30

its a "6 months of free depreciation" sale

Da_Spooky_Ghost 2026-03-01 22:33

Remember when Model S was $69,420. Can we go back to that?

Bluefeelings 2026-03-01 22:34

No thanks

foolbox 2026-03-01 22:34

It’s artificial scarcity. The other trims are available in 5-7 weeks and those delivery dates would’ve taken a much bigger hit if this stunt built a massive order book. It’s just more of the same Tesla/Elon fuckery that has been eroding the brand for years.

sherlocknoir 2026-03-01 22:37

This makes not want to buy it any of those prices. Imagine how you feel if you one of the first who paid $100K for the Foundation Series. Or you bought one last year for $80K. Or your just reserved one for $60K. The price jumps up & down so much who knows what the depreciation on those vehicles will be after a couple years. This type of rollercoaster pricing is exactly what happened between 2021-2023 and left a lot of people angry with what their vehicles were worth just a few years later.

SQLDevDBA 2026-03-01 22:42

Accurate. My screenshot from October 2020: https://imgur.com/a/dHeitXu#khUqWpS

FYou2 2026-03-01 22:43

The original quoted price of the Tesla Cybertruck was $39,900 for the single motor rear wheel drive model, $49,900 for the dua l motor all wheel drive model, and $69,900 for the tri motor all wheel drive model.

TheNoLifeKing 2026-03-01 22:43

Rug pulled on FSD transfers for those who already ordered. Can’t trust these guys.

pennyforyourthohts 2026-03-01 22:47

They should have never released itThey were years late on it and it’s literal homer mobileIf Tesla was the only game in town people could be compelled to buy it but not anymore.

Alarmmy 2026-03-01 22:48

It is 2022 again. Don't fall for this. They are trying to see at what price people are willing to pay. If you want to see a $50k Cybertruck, hold the line!

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-01 22:52

It’s not that complicated. They clearly had a great response to the $60k version and I guarantee you orders have absolutely plummeted since the price increase. Why not keep demand high and the $60k price point?

CommunismDoesntWork 2026-03-01 22:54

FUD

dantodd 2026-03-01 22:56

Because they have already pushed back deliveries to next year based on the orders received. If they need to raise the price 3% just for inflation why not Jack the price up to slow orders until they catch up with demand and then drop can l back to $60k or maybe $63k for inflation? That's better than taking a ton of orders that are unprofitable in 18 months

[deleted] 2026-03-01 23:00

Still expensive

OneExhaustedFather_ 2026-03-01 23:03

It was only ever about meeting monthly and there by achieving quarterly units sold. It’s part of his crazy pay package. Has to meet metrics

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-01 23:04

We’re assuming they’re at max capacity now, which seems hard to believe given how poorly the truck has sold vs expectations. That would be the only good reason in my mind to bump the price $10k but we’ll likely never know since they aren’t exactly transparent.

jedi2155 2026-03-01 23:07

Also rumor is that they have almost no profit margin at the current $60k price point until they find ways to get costs down. They can't get costs down until they get economies of scale + production process improvements. Which is why it was a temporary sale so they could work through those orders to get those improvements etc.

dantodd 2026-03-01 23:07

Most likely the delivery dates are getting given out based on full capacity for the currently running shifts. They are certainly not running 24/7 and I doubt they want to ramp up unless they are confident there is not than one year worth of demand

TheLegendaryWizard 2026-03-01 23:08

And based on demand the 60k trim was underpriced

FunkyTangg 2026-03-01 23:10

Do we know if the 60k version was just reworked old leftover stock that was just sitting around?

SnooDogs7747 2026-03-01 23:10

No

SequentialHustle 2026-03-01 23:14

artificial demand lol. these things are going to be a steal on used lots in a few years. no one wants to be seen driving one lmao

llywen 2026-03-01 23:16

How hard is it to understand that car makers are in the business of making money?

llywen 2026-03-01 23:17

Temporary price cuts are a clown show? Are you that ignorant of how car companies run?

tanbyte 2026-03-01 23:20

It’s just a way of creating fomo. They probably always had a small set number of trucks for sale at 59k to create interest. After a few orders, they pushed back the delivery dates & now this. Fomo!

mflboys 2026-03-01 23:22

That was 2019. $49,900 in 2026 dollars is $63,500.

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-01 23:29

You have no idea what their margins are on the $60 model. They wouldn’t offer it if it lost money. Variable costs are really the only relevant aspect here and there’s no way purely variable costs are over $60k.

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-01 23:30

Great point can’t argue with that logic.

andy2na 2026-03-01 23:32

100% manufactured FOMO. All those 2027 delivery dates will somehow magically all be delivered before a quarter ends

besiuk044 2026-03-01 23:33

Nobody is buying that price.

Tall-Memory-6021 2026-03-01 23:36

i see at least 4-5 a day. they’re super popular around where i live

Tall-Memory-6021 2026-03-01 23:37

which is why they sold out their capacity at $60k?

Tall-Memory-6021 2026-03-01 23:37

well no, they’re quite different BOMs and supply lines

foolbox 2026-03-01 23:39

Go ahead and enlighten everyone.

Wi11iamSun 2026-03-01 23:42

Fun fact - cybertruck never has Autopilot support

TheLegendaryWizard 2026-03-01 23:42

Whoops, forgot I was on the anti Tesla circlejerk subreddit. Downvote away, I'm still right

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-01 23:46

Yeah I was referring to the other models with the point about autopilot removal.

jorsiem 2026-03-01 23:47

Thought so

oasiscat 2026-03-01 23:49

Did Tesla report sales after the price decrease announcement?

FYou2 2026-03-01 23:50

Yes. Yes. It eas

Feeling_Nose1780 2026-03-01 23:55

Would not agree. Still cheaper than the cheapest Rivian offering, and similarly priced to an equivalent Silverado EV. Would grab one if I had a need for a pickup truck.

hgeyer99 2026-03-02 00:05

I feel like I’m in the minority that I like the cybertruck, I think in 30 years it will be a novelty own. Give me 39k as promised and I’ll buy one today. These prices are ridiculous. No one wants it at this price.

Pale_Candidate_390 2026-03-02 00:11

No one wants that trash

pachewychomp 2026-03-02 00:18

By the time those 2027 deliveries come out, premium AWD CTs, and some with paid FSD, should be about the same price. Many don’t mind getting a slightly used premium vehicle vs a brand new watered down one.

Present-Ad-9598 2026-03-02 00:21

Well with production ramping, yes some orders will be moved up

Present-Ad-9598 2026-03-02 00:22

Same, I see about ten a day at this point

teslastats 2026-03-02 00:24

People still buying that thing?

StickFigureFan 2026-03-02 00:28

Not nice

elchief8 2026-03-02 00:29

I see a few in my county bumpkin town everyday one has a green wrap, a red one, a white one and three original flavor. Live in a rural farming community too.

WenMunSun 2026-03-02 00:29

No but the estimated delivery date went all the way to April of 2027, maybe later now.

filletsheO 2026-03-02 00:34

These are all completely different specs though. So not really comparing apples and oranges here.

Illustrious-Stock-19 2026-03-02 00:35

Said nobody ever that actually needed a truck to do truck things

andy2na 2026-03-02 01:11

Likely just being downvoted for easily falling for Elon's sales tactics. Its so obvious what he was doing from a limited-time price to making the delivery date so outlandish.

AdmirableJudgment784 2026-03-02 01:15

If that's what they're trying to do, then that's a really predatory practice. Imagine trying to get people to not change their mind on their orders by locking them in with a temp price increase. But that's the auto industry in general, so I guessed that pans out. Tesla is just as slimy as other car dealers.

Illustrious_Rich_311 2026-03-02 01:18

Does it make a difference?

Jealous_Confusion459 2026-03-02 01:26

it was just 59,000

ENODEBEE 2026-03-02 01:50

They have stated capacity of > 125k in their Q4 shareholder deck. You expect to see them hit that in 2026 deliveries then?

JakeEllisD 2026-03-02 01:51

Are they raising the price because of demand?

FineOpportunity636 2026-03-02 02:03

Should have raised it to 65k and dropped premium to 75k. More people with orders would have ended up upgrading to premium and they would likely still get new orders. Don’t think the base is worth 70k with these specs unless they start adding things which which personally I’d be all for. 70k it better have a rear light bar along with leather seats and all the speakers.

Rav4Primer 2026-03-02 02:10

Everyone needs to chill out. They're going to bring the low price back because these things are not selling in any meaningful quantities.

Taylooor 2026-03-02 02:10

Why not both?

thatAnthrax 2026-03-02 02:15

wtf? this is standard practice for all commercial goods? periodic discount to increase demand.

FunkyTangg 2026-03-02 02:20

Just wondering what happened to all the 10,000 unsold 2025 cybertrucks.

Tall-Memory-6021 2026-03-02 02:24

can you show me where the stated capacity for the standard trim cybertrucks in 2026 was 125,000?

Expensive-Lie4494 2026-03-02 02:43

It’s still ugly AF. +/- $10K or even 20

SequentialHustle 2026-03-02 02:51

same doesn't mean i don't feel bad for the poor sap who paid 100k at launch and has lost 40k on depreciation while looking like an idiot driving it lmao.

foodisgod9 2026-03-02 02:52

If I didn't pull the trigger at 59 sure as hell won't at 69 lol

AccomplishedCheck895 2026-03-02 03:06

looks like a minority opinion

Tall-Memory-6021 2026-03-02 03:19

you’re appalled that a $100k car that’s two years old depreciated?

osten205 2026-03-02 03:24

Right?

the-faded-ferret 2026-03-02 03:32

They wouldn’t. People that reserved a $59k one can just cancel order and re-order. Deliveries aren’t for a long time anyways.

m1keyc 2026-03-02 03:34

Oi teach us

lonnie123 2026-03-02 04:23

Historically Tesla has (largely) avoided this kind of stuff. They may at times have given things like free supercharging , and they have tried to find the right price for the car and changed it, but I haven’t ever quite seen anything like this (although I’m sure I don’t know everything they’ve done)

_BreakingGood_ 2026-03-02 04:28

When the truck sells poorly, you reduce the amount of resources you're allocating to the production of the truck. It is very believable that their max production today is far less than it was when the truck was new, due to scaling back the project.

Impressive-Revenue94 2026-03-02 04:30

lol another psychological price change. If you hate it, just know it’s not for you. This is the same tactic as the send money to help the prince of Ghana tactic. There are plenty of people out there that falls for this marketing tactic. It’s suppose to make people think it’s ridiculous. If you caught on, you were not the intended customer.

Quin1617 2026-03-02 05:01

Seriously. This is Elon we’re talking about, the Robotaxis in Austin were priced at $4.20 for a good while. And don’t forget the geofence’s shape when it first expanded. Hell, the name of every car put together is S3XY, and if it weren’t for Ford the 3 would’ve been E instead.

dfaen 2026-03-02 05:08

They’re still ramping production?! After S and X production is stopped, will be interesting to see how Tesla manages to report Cybertruck numbers. The vehicle is a big flop from the 250,000 annual target.

Minute-Injury3471 2026-03-02 05:12

You don't have to buy it.

Present-Ad-9598 2026-03-02 05:36

They just started ramping production… I have a friend at Giga Texas (i live not far, wont say exactly but it’s less than 10 minutes) who told me they’re planning to atleast quadruple 4680 production

dfaen 2026-03-02 05:44

The Cybertruck had initial deliveries at the end of 2023. It’s had two full years of sales and ramping. Production constraints aren’t this vehicle’s issue. The demand simply isn’t there to match the levels anticipated before Elon went on his merry way.

RedElmo65 2026-03-02 05:46

I’m waiting fir the $39,995

beyqtsy 2026-03-02 05:46

Still 25k too much

Tradetheday2093 2026-03-02 05:47

How much do you think a 123 kWh battery is worth? And then the truck surrounding it. Let’s be somewhat reasonable.

Tradetheday2093 2026-03-02 05:52

You so smart you must be making the best decisions than anyone and a top 1% in wealth.

Present-Ad-9598 2026-03-02 05:55

You must’ve missed the last 12 days

SequentialHustle 2026-03-02 05:59

that's not normal depreciation even for teslas. they will be discontinued lmao

dfaen 2026-03-02 06:02

Ah yes. A magical influx of buyers out of nowhere, as if a price difference of $10k is what was holding Cybertruck sales back all this time. Will be fun to see reporting at the end of the year.

Present-Ad-9598 2026-03-02 06:08

It was $20k cheaper, dude

Tall-Memory-6021 2026-03-02 06:26

ok :) care to explain the equivalent depreciation of the $100k EV trucks from GM?

tennispro2589 2026-03-02 07:26

ugly. I'd be embarrassed to drive one. I like the other teslas though.

ATrip69 2026-03-02 07:58

15% off sale happens and we have galaxybrains saying this is how you lose customers.

icy1007 2026-03-02 09:43

Not really.

icy1007 2026-03-02 09:44

S/X and Cybertruck are made in two different factories. They don’t impact each other’s production.

RhoOfFeh 2026-03-02 10:50

Not very surprising. Delivery is apparently already pushed into 2027.

BikebutnotBeast 2026-03-02 11:20

Pretty sure they just removed it in name only. But if someone has a car that no longer has the FSD trial enabled it would be good to view their car menu.

BlazenHazen305 2026-03-02 13:39

Yea. It they are lame still and make you wait many months to get it at that deal

stevied05 2026-03-02 13:55

I’m not sure you understand how depreciation works. If they bought it new for $100K/$120K, and now basically the same car is being offered *new* for about half that, how do you think that affects depreciation of a used, 2 year old car?

stevied05 2026-03-02 13:57

The Tesla rug pull continues. Imagine how people paid $100K and $120K for “first edition” a couple years ago. Now 50% off *new*, which is still too much. Can only imagine the bath they’ve taken.

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-02 14:13

For new 3/Y orders you just get traffic aware cruise control and not autosteer.

No-Second9377 2026-03-02 14:41

Neither. They decreased it to 59,990 and then put it back

No-Second9377 2026-03-02 14:42

They did not remove autopilot from the 3 or the Y. They just changed the name

No-Second9377 2026-03-02 14:42

Not true

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-02 14:58

Incorrect.

No-Second9377 2026-03-02 14:58

No. Not incorrect

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-02 15:00

Go to the website and try to order one. You’ll get “traffic aware cruise control” only, not autosteer which was previously included in autopilot.

No-Second9377 2026-03-02 15:01

Its a name change

TV11Radio 2026-03-02 15:19

New to Reddit? They were joking and you didn’t get the joke and got downvoted. Nothing to see here move along.

1sh0t1kill 2026-03-02 15:46

The $60k cybertruck is not the same as a cyber beast. Thats like comparing a Honda civic LX to and EX-L or any car company you want to choose with different models of the same exact car.

Le-Baus 2026-03-02 16:16

yes, it's definitely aladeen.

Tall-Memory-6021 2026-03-02 16:20

what? it’s not even close to the same car. and the same trim IS still being sold for $100,000. it doesn’t seem like you really know what you’re talking about

stevied05 2026-03-02 16:23

You’re wrong for a couple of reasons, First, I said $100K/$120K, and the launch was $100K for the non-beast. Second, the trims on these cars are much more software driven than anything else once you’re in a dual or tri motor camp. If you’re trying to justify a $100K+ price tag for this car then I have a bridge to sell you. They didn’t re-develop an entirely new trim or variant for $60K lol

ZeroWashu 2026-03-02 16:24

Overpriced sure, by how much though? How much can we assign to the major feature changes? Standard removes the features below. * air suspension * all wheel steering * Premium interior - basically speakers, rear screen, and seat coverings * lockable under bed storage * rear light bar * trunk lighting, though I cannot tell if it is missing

GME_DIAMONDHANDS_APE 2026-03-02 16:44

If only it were $69,990 Canadian $

MrVop 2026-03-02 17:39

Hold on, i got deez.

Fadedcamo 2026-03-02 17:39

Its not. Every model 3 and y before this came with basic autopilot which (whatever they want to call it) entailed: Lane keeping assist Traffic aware cruise control This system was more than enough to keep you in lane and "autopilot" on the highway. Would take every bend and turn on the highway fine. Would also work on non highway roads but with a speed limit function. Cant change lanes and cant like navigate anywhere based on map directions. And wont slow for a light. Just holds a lane. That feature is now gone from all new model 3 and y's. Its part of the self drive subscription now to have any form of lane keeping. Which is laughable as even my civic comes with decent lane keep assist now included with the car.

MrVop 2026-03-02 17:43

Guess it's why you don't announce prices before the product is ready?

Alarmmy 2026-03-02 19:55

I am sure it isn't worth $70k because they were selling it for $60k. They are just testing how high the customers will pay for it. Looking back in 2022, they were selling Model Y for almost $70k (70kWh battery).

skifri 2026-03-02 20:22

that's because the 4680s are going into model Ys & cybercab.

Tradetheday2093 2026-03-02 20:43

So a AWD CT is worth as much as a AWD Model Y @ $50k? Where is the point when a business just says we ain’t making it for barely margins with a ton of value?

Tall-Memory-6021 2026-03-02 21:36

> they didn’t re-develop an entirely new trim or variant for $60k sure, only the wheels, battery, suspension, interior, and lights are completely different. barely a difference at all!

[deleted] 2026-03-02 22:05

[deleted]

hgeyer99 2026-03-02 22:06

Totally understand, it’s just not worth 63+ today.

RickTheScienceMan 2026-03-02 22:08

That's subjective. I like it.

FNboy 2026-03-02 23:00

I don’t give an eff is this was manufactured fomo. At the end of the day, $59k for. CT that does 95% of what the $79k version does is a steal and a decent to good value considering the PowerShare capabilities and overall tech innovation. I had no qualms about Tesla running a fire sale to build interest and, even at $69K, it’s far from terrible…just not worth buying since, for $10K more you can get into the premium.

FNboy 2026-03-02 23:01

If they were $45K, I’d buy three of them to replace my current vehicles.

_log0ut_ 2026-03-02 23:16

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

power78 2026-03-03 00:09

good thing I got mine before the price raised!

LouBrown 2026-03-03 00:42

Well, I'm looking at the listed features on the website, and it says [TACC is included standard but gives no mention of Autopilot/Autosteer](https://i.imgur.com/jwxmYFP.png). So unless I'm misunderstanding something, it looks like they've removed it to me.

Elon said 10 days when they launched the cheaper model and the website also said as much. No rug pull.

LouBrown 2026-03-03 00:53

Inflation is a thing that should certainly be accounted for when announcing the price of a product that won't be delivered for several years down the road. And for what it's worth, [the government's inflation calculator](https://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm) indicates that [$39,990 from November, 2019 is the equivalent of $50,569 today](https://i.imgur.com/lYRJ5zn.png) .

This is 100% not true, the Model 3 and y both have had wild price changes almost constantly.

BikebutnotBeast 2026-03-03 01:03

Show me a menu without a FSD trial active, and I'll believe you. Else its hearsay. They just removed "Autopilot" language.

lonnie123 2026-03-03 01:08

Have they had this type of pre announced 1-2 week discount before ? I know they have raised and lowered prices on it but I don’t remember a situation quite like this one

QuentinLCrook 2026-03-03 01:13

What? The price went from $59,990 to $69,990 for the same model.

MSampson1 2026-03-03 03:01

You can still keep that hideous things. Looks like a 2nd grader designed it. Wouldn’t have one if it was free

TheAarj 2026-03-03 06:20

Think they are pricing it backwards

Voooow 2026-03-03 13:59

china cars brand new 30k

WallabyInTraining 2026-03-03 14:17

For a piece of shit car? Yes. For a 123kWh home battery that can be easily moved? Less so. Trim might fly off at highway speeds though..

whitemiketyson 2026-03-03 14:44

What Model S?

whitemiketyson 2026-03-03 14:45

Rivian did the same thing but they at least honored the price for reservation holders.

whitemiketyson 2026-03-03 15:30

If it didn't look like a lost Golden Eye 64 vehicle, they'd be selling like hotcakes. I'd have bought one.

Jmike0735 2026-03-03 15:51

Serious question. For those that have bought or would like to buy a cyber truck, can you explain what is visually appealing about it in your opinion?Everytime I see these things I continuously think they are one of the ugliest EVs I’ve seen.

Silver_Material_7249 2026-03-03 16:34

Wonder how long the cyber has before it’s discontinued.

wjoelbrooks 2026-03-03 21:37

Looking like a giant douche every time you get behind the wheel . . . priceless.

ElonsAlcantaraJacket 2026-03-03 21:46

https://www.docanpower.com/panda-52v-942ah-48kwh-prebuilt-pack-1 Batteries for home storage have come down a ton. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo5dimvOWgs Great review of the brand from a pretty reputable reviewer of batteries. Understandably the CT prob uses NMC cells but my point still stands esp if we are talking home backup - where LFP performs far better cycle and safety wise isn't prone to thermal runaway fires like NMC can. (hence most home backup being LFP )

ElonsAlcantaraJacket 2026-03-03 21:49

Big dawg it takes about 2 minutes to check on the site to verify the poster above you is correct. It's just standard cruise control and if you want lane keeping you need FSD now.

Fthesehoes33 2026-03-03 21:51

Been having a Tesla for years.....I dont know why I thought these went 500 miles in range. That was the reason I was considering....now I see I not much miles from mines and they only go 112mph...I'm like naw I'm good....😆

r3f_assist 2026-03-03 23:49

Premium interior? Idk chief.

korDen 2026-03-04 00:00

i purchased 90kwh energy storage for $28k with inverters, new smart home panel and installation. Its portable too! if I move I'll take the batteris with me lookup ecoflow delta pro ultra.

flyingpj 2026-03-04 00:51

Had one as a loaner for a couple hours. What an awful vehicle. Worth only $6,942.0

retrorays 2026-03-04 04:09

Even if it was free...

MjP_realtor 2026-03-04 04:18

The hype is gone for the CT. Give it time it will go back to $60k or possibly less and I wouldn't doubt if they end up discontinuing it and repurpose the CT factories to make robots instead.

ka0818 2026-03-04 06:11

Value for money

swayael222 2026-03-04 21:10

I’ll buy it when it’s 40k

somethingClever246 2026-03-04 22:23

50% overpriced

Impressive-Passion80 2026-03-04 22:49

Deez what?

dypdypdyp 2026-03-05 00:02

About $69K too much

Sal5435 2026-03-05 00:29

Where did you see all wheel steering was removed?

xhumanman 2026-03-05 08:42

Better I’ll buy Raptor

MoonAndDark 2026-03-05 12:24

You have to pay me that much per year to drive that.

DaquanSandstorm 2026-03-05 12:26

All wheel steer remains

j90w 2026-03-05 15:57

That wasn’t an AWD version though.

No-Second9377 2026-03-05 16:04

It was the 2 motor version

refrainblue 2026-03-05 19:43

Once they removed free auto steer I immediately put my reservation down for a Rivian R2. That was one of the main features that kept me loyal to Tesla. I'm actually really excited to drive the R2 after seeing its semi-active suspension because the 2021 Model Y stiff as hell suspension is another major factor.

Aim2000 2026-03-05 20:38

85000 too much

WrongdoerIll5187 2026-03-05 22:45

Exactly. Don’t be a 2022 model y buyer.

Alienware15rr3 2026-03-06 05:54

That's an interesting take, if you had 9 Powerwalls 3's installed to equate to Cybertruck battery it would be 60k-80k after 30% federal credit, so that's actually pretty cool. I own 2 tesla powerwall 3's and never thought adding 9 more with a portable toaster for 70K is actually not that bad :D

Alienware15rr3 2026-03-06 05:55

I don't believe you. Where did you buy 90kwh storage for 28K, please provide the breakdown and models.

Davis_404 2026-03-06 07:39

Elon left this building after COVID.

Davis_404 2026-03-06 07:40

Adjust for inflation.

Ev_Spartan1122 2026-03-06 14:30

Cost < Worth

Possibly still eligible for 30% tax credit. If the image looks washed out, its because I took a screenshot on an HDR monitor. https://preview.redd.it/37jz7n6nagng1.png?width=1515&format=png&auto=webp&s=63f080635edbed777a7512a53b722c20bdd7b358

zambono_2 2026-03-07 13:20

The only positive aspect of Tesla lowering the price is that it will force other, MUCH BETTER options to lower as well. Rivian, your turn

MotivatingElectrons 2026-03-08 01:37

About $60,000 too expensive... What a flop of a vehicle.

dereksalem 2026-03-10 13:25

I feel like they were saying "overpriced in the segment", not overpriced for a Cybertruck.

jfede321 2026-03-12 00:13

No more autosteer?? Come on this is standard on a ton of cars (less expensive one too) in 2026. You have to pay $100/month for more than included basic cruise control?????
