That’s tempting.
They’re so ugly lol
How good is air suspension? Is it 20k good?
The biggest thing they removed is the air suspension, 15 speaker system changed to 7 and AC outlets in the cab. Everything else is forgiveable. Honestly this is tempting. My hope is that this model will drive down the price of the used market.
Very tempting. I'm about 5'10 and I can fully extend my feet. It also has so much space in the back.
There was supposed to be a $40k one.
[removed]
[removed]
Didn’t they discontinue the lighting?
If I recall correctly, the $40k had 250 mile range and rear motor only. The $50k was AWD and 300 mile range. With inflation it is probably pretty close. Still not as advertised
[removed]
Way way way better than their first attempt at the discount cyber truck. Bed outlets, power share, and power tonneau are non negotiable. This feels like a real cyber truck. I could care less about the amount of speakers and air suspension. Removed unneeded complications in the air system. Personally, I’m going to wait for this trim level with a single RWD motor which I’m sure will come when sales of this trim die down like usual.
Canada the cheapest is still 140k cad
[removed]
[removed]
very tempting.
[removed]
Is it tho
Does the F150 have fsd capabilities or any technology compared to the cybertruck? Pretty sure the cybertruck also has more bed room. it just depends what you're looking for but the cybertruck is also very capable.
Build quality on the Cybertruck is known to be pretty good tbh
[removed]
[removed]
6” longer bed and far better technology
[removed]
Air suspension, that's one of the Best options. I guess they know that.
So the model y and 3 getting a new cheaper version was lack of demand as well?
For god sake, just call it 60k
*looks at CT design. Oh yeah, air suspension, 15 speaker system gone, and AC outlets is definitely the only unforgivable thing about this truck.
Compared to the CT, the Lightning looks to be poorly and cheaply built. The CT is as capable a truck as any other in its class.
[removed]
Who cares? It was a vanity project from the beginning and never should have gone into production. Musk again using one of his companies to bail out another in having SoaceX buy them. I think they’ve purchased 10,000 so far for $100 million.
Basic cruise control unless you subscribe to FSD without fixed pricing.
Know people shit on build, our 18 m3 is still pretty damn good since receiving delivery.
[removed]
[removed]
The build quality is solid on CT, idk where you’ve heard otherwise
Clearly you’ve never taken a marketing class
Honest question: you couldn't do that in a F150?
Why couldn’t they do something like this for X and make it 50k?
Bingo. Have you seen their numbers?
[removed]
I felt thats how much it shouldve cost when they released it
So they’re prepared to sell this thing at a loss, but cancelled the two best vehicles in the lineup? Insult added to injury.
Would you be seen in public with that thing for $1,000?
I have one model y that is excellent build wise, and another that is absolute shit. Guess which one I bought first. Problem is when you get a bad one, there is a LOT that’s bad. I don’t understand it, it’s like they hired a third shift and staffed it with 8th graders and duct tape!
[removed]
Huge improvement from the previous short range version or w/e it was called. This retains a lot of features from the higher priced versions with reasonable cost-cutting, unlike the previous one which was stripped to the bone without much of a price difference.
They can keep it.
I’d like to know how this suspension feels tho
I was promised $39,999
Finally available for the original price they claimed.
Tint them windows boys
Imagine being excited about $59k when it was pitched to be $40k truck Price aside, this is still a nope from me
💯 my buddy got one as a loaner and from a tech perspective and drive comfort I absolutely loved it. But good god it’s absolutely hideous.
Watch the Munro Live tear downs - automotive engineering experts who car manufacturers pay to help them reduce manufacturing cost. You’ll see the Lightning has very few cost reductions applied. As a result, Ford is selling them at a loss - which is likely why they’ve cancelled production. Whereas Tesla is the industry leader in cost reduction.

$60k and no premium audio is insane
I think the exterior is cool, but the interior feels very sterile and could have been a bit more “exciting”
What vehicle can't you extend your legs at 5'10? That is average height.
This price is actually competitive for an EV truck, considering you get 325 miles of range 4.1s 0-60, and now it comes with 240v outlet in the bed. Very tempting. Also universal home charger and gateway are $1990. Let’s see if sales pickup.
The Cybertruck has never had Autopilot. Ever. It shipped with TACC, FSD came on it at v13.x about 7 months after the truck came out. All the Foundation Series came with prepaid FSD, but nobody else has ever had anything but TACC and FSD.
Because nobody would buy a MY
I might actually be able to afford one now Edit: just tried to buy one. Earliest delivery is June. I don’t wanna wait that long….
The 50k price tag (awd dual motor) adjusted for inflation to today is 63k EDIT I ORIGINALLY SAID 40k adjusted to inflation is 63k. I’m sleepy and didn’t read numbers quite right
It’s too late already…the hype is gone and now the image of this truck is even worse
[removed]
average truck is about 30% more expensive from 2019 depending on the source so it isn't as bad as it seems (especially if there was still a tax credit) but yeah they were off the mark
What year was that promised? What is 40k adjusted for inflation today?
The fake marble dash is weird for sure
and no one cared. It missed on essentially every single feature from the initial announcement and they're surprised it didn't sell?
[removed]
As a fan of Tesla and electrified vehicles, I hope so.
[removed]
I'm sure all the existing owners who are trying to sell will be thrilled about what this does to used vehicle pricing!
Lol, that is the Model Y
Holding off for the $39k.
I think they’re referring to OP, who fell for the marketing price
I wish more people factored this in when complaining about prices.
Once these hit .99% financing I’m giving my wife the model y and I’m getting this
The air suspension being removed from this is the only thing stopping me from getting this over the premium awd. I'd have to test both to choose and I'm guessing they don't have this one at any service centers for a test drive right now.
Yeah, best selling EVs in the US by a ***mile*** lol. They accounted for 45% of all EVs sold in the US last year. In Dec / Jan I think it was close to 60%
Dang, i just bought a Y. I would have bought this instead. Maybe I’ll get on and use it for “business”
Referring to OP, I know this marketing strategy
They'll say they won't cause it's easy to grandstand anonymously behind a keyboard.
I also am forced to factor in that my salary, adjusted for inflation, is the same or less than back then
What a meaningless metric. Sales have decline for two years.
Does this make it the cheapest new Tesla per pound?
I still would not buy it
This and the fact that their sales have been declining faster than the rest of the car market can be true at the same time. They are still the best EV and best selling EV, but Elon definitely pissed off a lot of potential EV buying demographic.
But we were promised this years ago. So they’re late and overpriced.
It's 50k where did you get your numbers?
[removed]
There's no lack of demand when you sell half the market. Is there room to expand? Yes. Lack of demand? No.
It had the added added benefit of inching Ford to the bankruptcy graveyard with every model sold for that price. That might have been its biggest detriment 🤣
This is what they should have launched with...
That didn’t make it beyond the render or prototype. I wander what material it actually was.
I want a non-premium Cyberbeast. Hey, I can dream.
Damn, its tempting but I think I need the air suspension. I suppose you could put a set of high jackers on it if it can take regular air shocks. Not sure on how good the towing set up on this is, really need to look at that. I need a Class IV tow capable vehicle. A bumper hitch ain't getting it. I wonder if there is anything remotely solid to bolt a real towing receiver to? Anyway, it would be a pretty good work truck if it can pull a hefty trailer.
Yea, I agree with this. But this is a thing with tesla as a whole. They have been aiming for this "minimalistic" style
[removed]
IMO best thing they could do for sales is let you pick a coloured wrap right from the buy screen. They should try to downplay the stainless as much as possible. The stainless look no longer has the appeal it once did. In my view anyway. I think the truck gains a lot once it’s wrapped.
It's a large badge of being many things, and none of them are good.
This, same for me
Why not? It is one of the best driving trucks/SUV's on the market.
now $$$ talks
Sorry, that’s actually my bad. I’m rtd… https://x.com/sawyermerritt/status/2024663743079014404?s=46
Less necessary to have a fancy suspension with those massive tires
Sure would if I could afford it. I've driven pickups from all of the big 3 in Detroit, the last one being a Ford and the thing was a piece of crap. Got rid of it after around 60,000 due to far too many quality issues. Everything from wheel bearing issues, software that was never updated/corrected, pollution control faults the dealership could never clear and so on. What was really sad is that this was my second Ford, the first one being purchased used decades ago. That pickup ran like a top and was obviously "used". These days they can't seem to produce a pickup that isn't an engineering embarrassment. From the people I've talked to the CyberTruck is the complete opposite of a big 3 pickup. So yeah I' wouldn't mind being seen in one. The problem is what did they delete from this model.
Even a manure spread breaks down and throws the nasty stuff on the operator. I suspect you are covered in it.
Only one more configuration to go until the $39,990 base model. /s but maybe not?
No
Well appearance is a personal issue, however your other points reflect what I've heard, it is the best driving pickup out there. I actually like the fact that they tried to make something that wasn't a Detroit carbon copy truck. It doesn't have to appeal to everybody, it does however appeal to people that can't tell the big 3 trucks apart in the parking lot.
I see SO many here in the Bay Area, no one cares anymore 🤷.
I’ll take it at 40k
I love that it makes certain emotionally fragile people absolutely lose their minds. I’d sell my Model S and buy one today if I could transfer my FSD and free Supercharging.
That is the big question. It does need to maintain some off road capability, but honestly it doesn't need an over blown capability.
Yea it says so, so much about you. And none of it is good, floridaman
The Cybertruck drives like a sublime dream. The fact that the hype has transmutated into frothing, visceral hatred definitely makes me want one even more now. More than 90% of Americans don't even drive an EV. I find it hard to find a fuck to give regarding what they think. This new package is actually quite compelling because I don't think air suspension is a necessity. An unbelievably useful and compliant luxury? Absolutely. But long term, they are expensive to fix and prone to failure in a myriad of ways that standard coil suspension just isn't. The electronic adaptive dampers are still intact. The truck's computer continues to actively adjust the stiffness of the shocks in real time based on the road conditions, speed, and selected drive mode. This combined with a pretty freaking quick 4.1.0-60 is impressive imho. Audiofrog, NVX, and a number of other audio companies make some nice audio upgrades for other Tesla models. If the sound sucks, there will be options. I was just looking at used Cyberbeasts yesterday and they are still $85k. This new trim is a helluva lot of EV for $60k. An EV9 is $62k...
people rehashing crap from half a decade ago now. They assume a production line start up means the model is forever a sign of what Tesla is capable of.
It was pre sale at $39,990. Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Plus you don't need six lanes of road to do a U-turn. The turning radius on a ford F150 is terrible.
I'll give you $10....$20 if your throw in a can of spray paint.
Why can it only tow 7,500 as opposed to 11? Is that just from the suspension or what?
Still wayyy too much.
Its way too big for what it is.
Im fine with minimalism when it comes to removing just necessary button bloat, I just wish it wasn’t also super industrial inside I love how open and unclaustrophobic my model Y is.
10k to go and It will be available at the original inflation adjusted advertised price.....
What percentage of owners do you estimate have ever taken their CT off-road?
Why do you say?
[removed]
I feel like my car will get keyed if I drive around the city with this. To much Elon hate where I live as much as I’m tempted
The very large side walls go a long way in dampening the vibrations and bumps from the road surface. That's why you get a smoother ride on smaller wheels, assuming the overall tire diameter is the same
I like buttons. Don’t have to look at anything while I’m driving.
You don’t have to on a Tesla either, you can do everything with voice controls without taking your hands off the wheel, which other cars either don’t have or do poorly. Temp and other knobs and toggles still require you to look at them, sorry lmao
When your product is so delayed you have to have inflation factored in
Spec’s say it’s Class IV.
I mean, the r1s took 4 years from reveal to delivery. Same as the cybertruck. I’m gonna see how much the R2 finally cost. No way they can do it for 45K. Inflation has been crazy the past couple of years.
Yea that makes more sense, I didn’t even read the title ngl
Doesn’t even come with autopilot I’m guessing, the value for this just keeps dropping
Less than 10%
I wish they would make a three row suv on this platform
As someone who bought brand new Tesla model 3 before nope I will wait 2-3 years and then buy for juicy 50%+ discount
Oof. Friend of mine just bought the AWD for $83k on Tuesday. Had he waited a few days, he could have saved $20k. :(
I had two different Defender loaners in quick succession, was pretty surprised that the one without the air suspension rode better than the one with it.
Anyone know what the difference with the bed is in this newer one? Site says it doesn’t have a “vault” bed…not sure what is meant by vault?
Remember when it was supposed to be 40k?
What's the diff between this and the $80k one? besides the 20k diff (i know someone is going to say that)
If this had been available in Canada, I would have cancelled my MYP order and changed to this since with conversion it's the same price. Fucking politicians and their tariff bullshit!!!!
To give it credit, it definitely drives like a much smaller car. We did a 48hr test drive that ended up being a 120hr test drive due to a mixup, and we were pleasantly surprised with how it drove. I am in no way defending its stigma, the behavior of Tesla's CEO, or the excessively simplistic interior, but they did a really good job at making it drive very well. Our company car is an F-150, which is very similar in overall size, and the Cybertruck felt like a Miata in comparison. It's incredible how much a dynamic steer-by-wire and four-wheel-steering can change the feel of that truck.
[removed]
I wonder if there will be a pathway to add the 14 speakers, or actually any of the upgrades back through service center.
Who drives their Tesla? Are you nuts? It’s 2026
[removed]
[removed]
Yeah, it’s a bit wild and a big downgrade in the audio experience, the audio in the AWD premium slaps.
i still have my reservation from years ago
I’d rock it. Then again I really could care less about what people think. I want that PowerShare function.
Sounds like you can’t afford it then
Cybervan when?
Still a no for me, too many bad connotations attached to it due to a certain someone. On top of which it still has build quality issues, not in the fit and finish sense but in the under-engineered sense. This is a truck yes, but more like a garage queen truck. doing actual truck stuff with this vehicle outside of light camping and you're in for a bad time and a boat load in part replacements and labor costs.
[removed]
No ventilated seats is a no go on a 60k vehicle
[removed]
It’s a shame there is no willing to get the cyber truck to French roads.
Is it to compete with the new Rivian R2?
They should have done it as a wagon or the ability to convert it. For Australia it’s waaaaay too big.
Which is my favorite aspect. Minimalism never ages.
Lack of premium audio kills the deal for me.

Its easier to drive and maneuver than my wife's Model X. The 4 wheel steering and steer by wire makes it feel like a nimble sports car once you get used to the size of it.
You need to experience steer by wire
Nah mate, I get the "I hate Melon" narrative but don't exaggerate.
Call me when the $39,999 version is here Capt. bullshitter.
Common plebes defending a billionaire price gouging is top tier.
Absolutely.
Here here! And hopefully they’ve left the wiring in place to make it easy to add the 8 missing speakers
So not 40,000?
I think because the large sidewall from the 35s and smaller wheels helps dampen the ride.
You mean 20k over promised?
60k cyber, whoop whoop! Where is the 40k one? And, as others mentioned the car looks like a total trash can on wheels if you look at any of them on the road for more than a year
Honestly awesome. Try test driving one
You're reading way too much into OP's comment. Demand or not, the problem is Tesla can churn out more Model 3/Y then they sell, a lot more. So they must either discount to move cars and/or reduce production. The opposite was true during the pandeic, which is why they could charge $70k for a Model Y. This doesn't mean there's no demand for Model 3/Y, just not enough compared to their production to sustain prices.
You mean $60k clearly
Is this config only available for the next 10 days?
Is this config only available for the next 10 days?
Having driven the RWD CT when it was out - the coil I actually enjoyed more than the air for daily city driving
At some point it will start making sense as a home battery that also has wheels. 123kWh with over 11kW peak delivery is not bad. Most home batteries will probably start losing trim pieces above a certain speed, so that tracks as well.
[removed]
This is the type of vehicle you'd see when there is only Taco Bell available because no other restaurants exist
[removed]
Cool. Now tell me when they are $39k.
Still no.
Does the premium not seem insanely expensive now?? Paying 20k for air suspension and more speakers? That’s the price of a car
Price coming down equates to not selling..it needs to do a better job at appealing
[removed]
Very true. It drives like a sub compact and you forget you’re in a steel triangle. BUT the interior and bed are considerably smaller than an f150 which is disappointing
[removed]
Yes and it was supposed to have air suspension, a bed ramp, another seat and a light bar.
Yeah like the person making the announcement
Maybe new lithium refinery and dry electrode process for 4680 battery production process is allowing Tesla to lower production costs? Honestly if that is true Tesla might be able to bring cost on par or even below Panasonic/LG costs. Would be game changer. We should know more during next 2 earnings calls.
[removed]
Finally!!
You dont drive a Tesla, it drives you.
Cries in Canadian. Still $140k here.
No heated rear seats is a shame
For ten days only
Hahahaha I'm dying 🤣 That was clever
It's smaller than an F-150 with a slightly larger bed. All wheel steer and drive by wife make it handle like a mid sized sedan.
This is great if you want one and we’re in the market currently. But I wanted one back when they were announced and now I’m not ready :(
and be a unibody design so it would be light weight and have 550 plus range
[removed]
What’s the difference in price for
Why termite x and s not the cybertruck? Doesn't make sense to me
Love your "drive by wife"
Why's that? Everyone I've met that has 1 says it's been the best truck they've ever owned.
I don't like the truck but I'm excited to see it priced a little bit better Kinda skeptical to see if they just lowered the price on the existing model or if they cut corners to lower the cost. Not a bad thing to cut corners but I'm interested to see where/how they cut corners.
Typo for drive by wire, but yeah, wife does always have to drive it when we take my truck. lol
With used f150 lightning at about 40k I still don't see a reason
Naaa, I'm good thanks.

I am NOT happy that they simultaneously took away the Luxe Package offer on the Cyberbeast. 😭
Please somebody bring these to the UK! My order / deposit was made in 2019 😣😫
yall praise the heavens they need to keep this I COULD ACTUALLY GET A CYBERTRUCK 🙏🙏🙏 still a little pricey but its realistic now 🤣🤣🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
For 10 days only lol.
no premium audio is 💔💔💔
thanks, I'm good.

Agreed. I have an '18 and a '19 Model 3, and one of my neighbors who loves headlines came over ready to point out all the flaws in my Teslas because they "have such bad build quality." As I'm sure you won't be surprised to discover, he didn't find a single panel gap or alignment issue on the exterior or interior of either vehicle. Then we drove 45 minutes from my house allowing FSD to drive the whole way (and this is HW3!) to go race R/C cars, plus the 45 minute return drive solely with FSD. Needless to say, he doesn't tell me the newest Tesla headlines he reads anymore.
The sheer volume of people putting other brands badges and stickers on their cybertruck only shows how unpopular this is. It's the biggest flop since the Aztec.
yeah the 59k one is stripped down, one less screen, normal textiles non-premium, etc
Lease for 500$ per month is a good deal. Still too expensive!
Not forever... Only for the next 10 days though.
It is more likely that the value of those two things make it hard to let go of them, free supercharging can save you a lot of money, and you cant buy autopilot anymore. Of course if "money is meaningless" because you are so rich that is one thing, but it is possible to be able to afford something and not buy it because it doesn't seem like a good deal.
How many of those people actually use it as a truck?
There are still features to remove! the cheaper version was to have RWD and - 50/75 mile range.
If it was 59K with the incentives still in place…I would be tempted. I still don’t see it as a truck lol but it is super spacious on the inside and I like the interior. I’m happy the price is down though for those who are interested! Edit: Oh, this is like the base model I forgot about lol. No screen in the back and interior materials different. Nevermind lol.
Still the cheapest model is over $68,000 with taxes and fess in California. Waiting for next wave of price reduction.
The uglier the better, I don't want to be like everyone else...plus I'm tired of door dings
That is still $10,000 more than when they announced it
Greatest damn vehicle of all time, in terms of driving it (not talking about this trim in particular) If you're worried about virtue signaling or aethetics, then yeah I get why you hate it.
About half, mostly for home construction.
Can’t believe they discontinued the X and S and kept this fuckin thing
Nice! The power options are very useful for a work truck and glamping.
I remember when the Cybertruck was supposed to be 35-40k lol
That’s only like 6-7k pre-covid numbers though.
If you gave me one I would immediately trade it for something else
Better hurry as you only have 10 days to buy it at this price....then it might drop a dollar
https://preview.redd.it/uixowoiftokg1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=730f9967ac26f3610d6eeedaf793289fa75817fc Definitely not in Canada.
Wait for a month or two.
Use voice commands.
This post was not allowed. Please read Rule 2.
Too little too late. This was the initial pre-order I had, which was $49,990. And I knew that wasn't going to be the price. But when they started offering the dual motor for $70k i canceled it right away. I'm glad they didn't offer it at $60k back then and I stayed away from this trouble.
How much to add a door handle?
If you calculate inflation in their original $50k price point at the 2019 announcement, it equals to $63k today. So in that sense, it's actually $3,000 cheaper than what they promised. Just (very) late
Do people really still buy that?
Seems like a more reasonable price but can you really buy one till you know more about the suspension.
Would buy if it wasn't so huge. I don't even mind aesthetics. If they made a midsize one I'd be all over it.
I still dont want it for $30K
So many better ev trucks out there
Hope the beast can go 80k
Anyone out here waiting for it to drop down to $49,000. If there is no demand for it to $59,000, I think it is quite possible that Tessa will reduce it further down. We're only about $10,000 away from the initial price. Very possible. On the bright side and we'll probably start seeing you cyber trucks anywhere between $40 to $50,000 now.
We round that up to $60K in the real world.
That was before the fed printed trillions in 2021 causing record inflation.
So they added another trim level? Forst it was RWD, AWD and Cyberbeast. Now its Regular AWD, Premium AWD and Cyberbeast. Wonder what they're cutting off to make the dual motor cheaper.
No with my money.

Still 140k in Canadian pesos
Still $140k in CAD
And 18 inch wheels not 20
Currently looking up cyberbeast…
That’s $10 short of 60K, it’s not 59.
I would not get it for free
Only for 10 days apparently
shhh don't spoil the redditors ivory tower
Why the hell are they $140cad in Canada???
Saw a electric blue one out on roads today
That's not what happened
Can you get car insurance on them?
Yah I would have jumped on this right away if it was available in Canada. Ah well. Also on the fence about air suspension being removed
[removed]
Anyone notice it says active noise cancellation on the premium and beast? I still don’t have that option my audio menu like on the x and s
The 40k version you recall was RWD. The AWD drive they promised in 2019 was 50k back then. Accounting for inflation, that's 63k now, so they have met (actually beat, accounting for inflation) the price they promised. Just took too long.

Have you heard of inflation. What costs what it did back when they announced this truck and its price?
Still overpriced
Same
It’s also only for 10 days, so kind of moot.
When this version is like around 45k or so used, I’m buying this. 100%
Then there were the rich idiots who paid $200k+ early on because they had to have one.
Until I see a 500 mile range I'm not interested. That's the only reason I had one on order.
Still waiting on the $48k base version (40k inflation adjusted), but we are getting there.
That was RWD price
Moot for those that can’t take advantage… but congratulations to those who can!!
Still not 500 miles + literally the entire appeal of this thing. Shit the bed on capacity
And you believe him?
Let’s hope that is a lie. I think demand definitely spiked since Tesla was advertising Cybertruck on the home page but then day later swapped it to 3/Y. Maybe too many orders lol. I just want some of that technology to trickle down to other cars in Tesla fleet. That should lower production costs through economies of scale.
Well you should be able to get $50k version after 1-2 years once the $60k version buyers start selling haha
Its exactly what happened, an over-simplified explanation, but still accurate. Most people here on reddit would have a hard time understanding the full explanation.
Forget it - that won’t happen - heard of COVID & INFLATION?
It’s wild I would totally buy it but my state has the most insane car tabs based on their own determination of value Along with an expensive E-vehicle tax. It’s nuts how much taxation can stall an economy because I know I’m not the only one that’s going to just stick with their old M3 (or any old car) due to the taxes.
Bro is excited that it’s nearly double what was quoted when they first announced it🤣
Trucks don’t lose value like cars
Meh, the only thing I care about is the lack of ventilated front seats. Everything else seems fine. The 18" wheels are actually an improvement.
