Press X to doubt

nunofgs 2026-01-22 20:51

Nope. No, they won’t.

Impressive-Revenue94 2026-01-22 20:53

Knowing Elon’s timeline, i doubt we’ll see it.

wray_nerely 2026-01-22 20:54

I guess the same way they're selling vehicles with Full Self Driving

Blackboard_Monitor 2026-01-22 20:58

Jesus, who takes this guy at his word anymore?

noamm12 2026-01-22 20:59

Lol, if this is the first prediction, we're talking about ~2040 until *supervised* humanoid robots

BisonMysterious8902 2026-01-22 21:00

They'll show up in Tesla Roaders that drive themselves using FSD...

Logitech4873 2026-01-22 21:01

I mean this is pretty damn easy to do, companies have done this for decades at this point. I had a small humanoid robot as a kid. It won't be any useful of course, but that's a different discussion.

Dash------ 2026-01-22 21:02

Imagine a world where Tesla focuses 100% on cars for people and Elon shuts up. And then imagine how much of peoples time went into removing and then fighting Management to bring back a goddamn stalk.

mybotanyaccount 2026-01-22 21:05

🤣

Articles of future Tesla improvements coincide with articles of him trying to be a politician.🤔

Whit3boy316 2026-01-22 21:09

Gonna get an Android 18 skin for mine 😏

sfriedrich 2026-01-22 21:09

He'll deliver it in two weeks ! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v-33jcEDk4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v-33jcEDk4)

skd00sh 2026-01-22 21:10

He's currently running the Pentagon so that's a hilarious take

Jielin41 2026-01-22 21:11

Hahaha, no way

Darkendone 2026-01-22 21:11

Never delivers is not correct. He partially delivers.

Darkendone 2026-01-22 21:12

Why not? They can start selling them now if they want to. They might not be very useful though.

pryoslice 2026-01-22 21:13

He always makes huge claims and delivers a decent chunk of the time, but much later than he originally promised.

Lamehoodie 2026-01-22 21:13

2 weeks until FSD!

SoFLDude 2026-01-22 21:13

My initial reaction was to roll my eyes and chuckle.

battleop 2026-01-22 21:14

We really need to make sure these robotic engineers are watching movies like Terminator and iRobot.

DelosHost 2026-01-22 21:14

Sure, just like my fully autonomous self driving Roadster sitting in the garage that can take me to a SpaceX flight to the Mars colony. Fucking idiot.

metarx 2026-01-22 21:14

Someone needs to pump Tesla stock price

kittenman 2026-01-22 21:14

lmao i'll believe it more when we see the Roadster

Logitech4873 2026-01-22 21:14

Are the finished robots there? Not sure what you're saying.

Harryhodl 2026-01-22 21:15

It’s literally driving unsupervised in Austin today!

br0wntree 2026-01-22 21:16

People won’t buy something that isn’t useful.

skd00sh 2026-01-22 21:18

xAi is running the Pentagon as of a few days ago. Won a dept of war contract after Grok was the only ai chat bot willing to use military intervention to aquire greenland. This is why grok nsfw was nerfed, was a bad look for the white house. I'm not making any of this up. Grok is the model the us military is relying on for all future ops.

Rschmidt79 2026-01-22 21:19

2045 in Elon years.

EpicProdigy 2026-01-22 21:19

They will. Itll just be a toy for the rich to use to show off however. A cool party trick.

Sjakktrekk 2026-01-22 21:20

Keep of the streets today

tirolerben 2026-01-22 21:28

I believe he will start selling them, the same we he started selling the Tesla Semi in 2019. I mean Pepsi has apparently around 80 Semis, but Tesla doesn‘t release actual sales numbers for the Semi and calls all Semis on the road "Prototypes". So technically you could say that Tesla started selling them, even tho only 200 have been built, far from the 50,000 per year Musk promised in 2019.

Sjakktrekk 2026-01-22 21:29

I’m planning to sell a robot I’ve developed at the end of 2027 as well. It’s using some innovative materials like cardboard, and it will have a flashing light, maybe a sound, and can perhaps roll a little before getting stuck in the carpet. It’s mostly a great companion which you’ll bond with because you have to help it. You’ll see these guys everywhere soon!

InternationalGlove 2026-01-22 21:29

He will, they won't do anything but he'll sell them anyway

tigole 2026-01-22 21:30

So.. 2030 maybe?

Lyingmustard 2026-01-22 21:31

The first Tesla Bot murder will surely be something

JohnLemonBot 2026-01-22 21:31

1 million robotaxis in 2020

acethinjo 2026-01-22 21:33

You mean flying roadsters woth thrusters and 1000kms of range..

ronntron 2026-01-22 21:33

Only subscription option...

PembrokePercy 2026-01-22 21:38

All the BS he’s peddled sells out. This won’t be any different. But I don’t believe for a second he’ll be selling anything close to useful for another 3 years. Dude doesn’t meet his own deadlines.

tbonechiggins 2026-01-22 21:38

End of 2027 plus 2 weeks.

Honest-Lavishness245 2026-01-22 21:41

Just dont buy one and pay extra for the ai features... it won't work till hardware 5

ATUGA 2026-01-22 21:44

And all Tesla owners will be able to make money off of their cars being robotaxis by the end of 2019…

Dry_Okra_4839 2026-01-22 21:48

Let’s assume that’s true. How will those robots be trained?

StartledPelican 2026-01-22 21:52

[https://breakingdefense.com/2025/12/pentagon-rolls-out-genai-platform-to-all-personnel-using-googles-gemini/](https://breakingdefense.com/2025/12/pentagon-rolls-out-genai-platform-to-all-personnel-using-googles-gemini/) The Pentagon uses Gemini as well.

Snakend 2026-01-22 21:52

Eh, he is usually wrong on his timings, but his huge claims usually eventually deliver. He sometimes does not deliver, but to say he never delivers is disingenuous.

goomyman 2026-01-22 21:55

I lost a ton of money (shorting Tesla) when he announced that they would sell 50k humanoid robots THIS Year!!! In 2025. I even have a word for it “legion”, “legions of robots”. I thought no one would believe him, everyone believed him. Then he fired the head of his robot division, took over and said he didn’t have enough CPUs - that’s why. His robots can’t do crap - at least those VR robots actually can clean your house lol. And he copied the same VR tech.

elthepenguin 2026-01-22 21:55

Yes and the factory will be on Mars and they will be delivered by self-flying rockets.

AtariAtari 2026-01-22 21:56

![gif](giphy|PjU0WtzRVbQUO4qe6v)

canikony 2026-01-22 22:06

sell? Sure, you can sell anything you want. Deliver? Maybe in the next 10 years.

Assanater601 2026-01-22 22:07

As a lover of my Model 3, I 100% doubt this is a factual statement.

ac9116 2026-01-22 22:08

They’ll start “selling” them and the only customers will be Tesla factories and SpaceX

Lamehoodie 2026-01-22 22:12

Right well according to Elon’s timeline he’s like 5 years behind schedule

badDuckThrowPillow 2026-01-22 22:12

Roadster was announced in 2017. Its almost a decade later and nothing has been released.

badDuckThrowPillow 2026-01-22 22:13

There's a huge difference between a $200 flamethrower or $50 bottle of tequila and a multi-thousand $$ "robot"

lylesback2 2026-01-22 22:19

Elon also said FSD coast to coast by the end of 2017.

Facehugged1 2026-01-22 22:20

So roughly by 2037 in Elon time

TheAwsomeReditor 2026-01-22 22:25

Sex robots? Pls tesla lol

tacotacoburrito04 2026-01-22 22:31

Probably around the same time the Roadster starts shipping.

MonsieurVox 2026-01-22 22:33

So 2030 at the earliest, at which time the “humanoid robots” will be barely functional and humanoid in shape only.

PembrokePercy 2026-01-22 22:34

He’s still selling the Tesla roadster that never made it to production. I don’t believe he’ll struggle w sales, it just won’t come out for 3 more years

ruipmjorge 2026-01-22 22:36

2027 in musk time is 2059

fooknprawn 2026-01-22 22:37

And usually very late (Semi, Roadster come to mind)

john0201 2026-01-22 22:39

Be suspicious of anyone who always talks about what they will do and not what they have done.

psaux_grep 2026-01-22 22:42

I mean, they also sold cars that were (capable of) fully self driving in 2017.

zorg-18082 2026-01-22 22:59

Elon, this reminds me of the time you tried to drill a hole through your head

InnerLeather68 2026-01-23 00:56

Elon says 2027. Ok, so 2035. Got it.

Chrushev 2026-01-23 06:00

And who will buy them? I am certainly not interested in another adult human sized thing living rent free in my house, taking up ~30 cubic feet of my space, idling 99% of the time. I can spend the 10 minutes to fold my own laundry, treat it like meditation time. And sitting on the couch the entire time and have stuff fetched for me will just lead to an earlier death for me (we already sit too much).

Original-Material301 2026-01-23 14:43

![gif](giphy|gW9YgAKyDEOzQV1PA3) Aliexpress will be full of cosplay options after Elon releases his bot. Silicon add ons, wigs , faces, all sorts of degeneracy. I hope he doesn't integrate Ani into it.....

Lancaster61 2026-01-23 15:03

They can sell it, doesn’t mean it’ll be good and have a high demand.

CBrinson 2026-01-24 20:01

Can shareholders please sue him if this yet another thing ends up being a complete lie to boost the stock price? Like Christ he defrauds you over and over but the big guys don't care. You are buying at an inflated price because of the false promises.

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2026-01-27 00:45

The early models aren't for home, they will do repetitive tasks in factories.

Chrushev 2026-01-27 00:54

That doesnt make sense either, you do not need a bipedal humanoid robot for factory work. ALL manufacturing has been using specialty designed robots, that are BETTER than a bipedal humanoid robot for decades. They can have 3 arms, 20 arms, move on belts at insane speeds, move vertically, be tiny or huge, rotate in all sorts of ways... all limitations of bipedal humanoid robot. This adds ZERO value to factories. Human body is a limitation rather than a benefit for a robot. Imagine a humanoid robot carrying 1 box at 4 miles per hour (human walking speed), versus a much simpler robot carrying 100 boxes at 60 miles per hour? Because its a dolly shaped robot with wheels. Why have fingers to put screws in when your whole hand can be a screwdriver capable of magnetically hold the screw and put it in without having to twist your wrist 30 times back and forth.

Mysterious-Lick 2026-01-29 17:09

Can’t, he’s ending Model X.

Fuzzy_Dunlop 2026-01-30 03:00

Controlled by a guy in India with a VR headset.

i4mt3hwin 2026-01-30 20:33

I guess but I think him lying for years to pull investment money into this company and eventually make things work is pretty shit.

rasin1601 2026-02-02 14:24

Don’t have to imagine it. There was a golden era where Tesla was on track to become the biggest carmaker in the world. Gigafactories, compound growth, new and exciting models. I think that embryonic era is why most of us are still here. It pains me to think all the naysayers were right about Elon. The PayPal people were correct in getting him out when they did.

cws142 2026-02-23 08:52

What was negatively said about him?
