Overall, kinda underwhelming update. Might turn off the wireless chargers and try to rig up a MagSafe setup instead. Automatic HOV in nav should be nice with FSD.

When does this get released? Hopefully this doesn’t bring some new FSD version since I don’t want them to mess up FSD 14.2.1. It’s stable and working great so far and some new updates can mess up FSD.
Why is gapless playback? Is this some philosophical question? Some albums have songs that flow seamlessly into the next song, which sucks when there's a sudden 1 second cutoff. Gapless playback USED to work years ago, but an update broke it and they never fixed it.
Grok integration will be great, and sets us up for much more integration to come. I’d love to tell it to take a particular road, or take an exit without interrupting FSD.

Phone Left Behind Chime The number of times I've accidentally left my phone in the vehicle ... I'm shocked I haven't had my phone stolen before I remember to go back for it. 🤦 (At least PIN to drive keeps the car safe. And I carry my key card as a backup.)

It'd be nice if NZ and Aus could get Actual Smart Summon with this update. We now have FSD (still only v13) but we're still waiting for this feature. It can't be a RHD hold up since the UK has it...
My dream scenario would be to tell it to navigate to X place, and stop off at a breakfast diner on the way, then plan a route that goes through XYZ landmark. Would be great if Grok could seamlessly route plan like that.

Unambiguous display of user inputs for a dashcam clip is great. E.g. car is sliding out of control in one direction but this shows user is counter-steering, etc.
If this shows info as part of a clip downloaded from the app yeah. Most people don’t get the usb ones.

ASS is crap in its current form. You won’t use it more than the first day as it’s unreliable and super skittish. They need to update it to V13/14 stack before it’ll be useable.

It’s roughly the same in my experience. I am on HW3 but it hasn’t been updated for AI4 capabilities yet with the V13/14 stack. Trust me, it’s underwhelming to say the least and at times, downright unsafe. There are plenty more features I’d be anticipating before the dumpster fire that is ASS.

100% Yep. So much wasted engineering resources on trivial stuff like Santa Mode, Light Shows, and Photo Booths. Last years Apple Watch update was a great addition.

Let me guess…they won’t be available to HW3+Intel CPU again. So…nah.
So would overwhelming majority of people. In fact, what single human would NOT want an option to be present? It’s forced upon us because they weren’t milking enough data from us. I’m willing to bet most people would turn it back on in most scenarios. Most safe drivers aren’t going in and out of lanes and would prefer to CHOOSE their lane based on preferences in their unique setting with their unique driving style.

Yeah, this is the most exciting one for me, mostly because when Grok was first rolling out, Tesla never directly stated it would be able to control vehicle functions (other than maybe Elon's personal X, which is filled with BS ramblings). Tesla themselves were always careful to say, "Grok does not issue commands to your Tesla vehicle." So to me, it was debatable or even doubtful it would ever be more than an LLM you can talk to. So this is not only a cool feature, but also confirmation that Tesla always had intentions for deep Grok integration, and an indicator more will come in the future.
I think my biggest wish list items at this point are: * Better map data and a map data problem reporting system * More dynamic charge scheduling, for instance: 70% charge limit now, then a one-time charge to reach 100% by 7am Dec 10 * Apple Music playback queue
That's literally the wrong way to drive. Safest driver properly recognize what lane to be in and change accordingly. People having a "preferred" lane is what makes NA traffic so bad

How about bring back the headlight timeout? How is it that if I manually turn on the lights they do not turn off after I leave the car and instead give me a warning about battery drainage?! My 2006 Mazda had this feature… it worked when I got my Model Y two years ago. An update broke it. And then it worked again for a couple months. Now it’s back to just letting the lights burn indefinitely… I seriously do not get it.
PIN was annoying so I removed it, this is a much better feature ! I can’t wait

Underwhelming. I want way better sat nav. Be able to zoom in and keep it zoomed in. Updated maps too- it says it’s 2025 but it’s not as a new bridge has been built near me last year and not there. Lane departure screen- at a nice size so you can actually see it, would be amazing.

I hope they look to offer a police or "Emergency Dash Cam" mode. I want it to record exterior, interior, and audio so that if I have some crazy person yelling at me, an accident, or the police there I can get a full recording.

No offense to you but that’s not what I’m saying at all. Every driver knows their roads best and what sections of specific roads warrant specific lanes, especially on commutes. There’s things that fsd will never be able to accommodate.
You can press the dash cam button to save manually.

This sounds good on paper - but there are a lot of nuances with HOV lanes. Some are 2+ people, others are 4+, and some just require you to be driving an EV and you can be in them alone. So long as Tesla “knows” it’ll work. My concern is the car currently doesn’t know the proper speed limit half the time, so I’m not sure it will know the HOV rules.
Too bad this update doesn’t include using the ambient lights for the blind spot monitoring, in the same way the commander allows you to use it
Holy shit adding a dropped pin as the home navigation preset is a game changer for me. I live in an apartment complex downtown with a garage in the alley and the main address sends me to the other side of the block I need to navigate to and the streets are all one ways. The closest 'address' is a restaurant across the street which works most of the time.

Not ever just not until my trial ends. Tesla has a habit of going 2 steps forward and 4 steps backwards. When FSD v14 came out was struggling with leaves and people unlike v13 and they finally fixed it in 14.2.1. So now that they finally have it right I don’t want them to go backwards again just to add some extra features. I have seen them get FSD right only to make it worse on the next update.

There is some nuance and a lot of the law is arbitrary, so it *could* be worth something. But regardless, it’s still worth a lot for insurance claims.

MCU2 and HW3 are different. Some cars have that combination, other cars have MCUZ and HW3, and newer ones have MCUZ and HW4.

I share your opinion. As a PM who has to prioritize client requests for software, I’m flabbergasted. Are people really asking for photobooth mode or extra snowman? I can think a million more useful things. Like how about an alternative to PIN to drive where it uses the internal camera for facial recognition and only if it doesn’t recognize an authorized driver THEN ask for my pin? That’s just one of hundreds of usability focused enhancements they could give us. Instead we get to color our car license plates. Good grief.
That does not record interior or audio. Guys this is somehow an unpopular feature.
Still, a great idea like a blackbox for an emergency since Tesla only record while in D or Sentry but privacy concerns.

America is the same but dashcam could be used if there is compelling evidence of anything that happened with the car and or its owner/occupant.

I use summon almost everyday works really good in my 26 Juniper? Idk why lots of complaints online
