Press X to doubt

Space_Monkey_42 2025-11-06 15:27

"we are getting close to demonstrating THE PROTOTYPE" 8 years guys, after 8 years from the first unveiling they have a prototype... if that's not innovation I don't know what is, this company really moves at neck breaking speed...

Munkadunk667 2025-11-06 15:29

2nd prototype announcement eh? How about you just make the fuckin car or shut up and refund people

LarryP33 2025-11-06 15:33

Lmao what an idiot

vidiot1969 2025-11-06 15:33

“Info”… haha

okichi 2025-11-06 15:35

I don’t want a car with a flame thrower or ejection seats. I wish we can just get a first class electric sports car that’s fun to drive.

lurkingtonbear 2025-11-06 15:38

What the hell does that even mean? Missiles and smoke bombs and mini guns?

UsedCarSaleman 2025-11-06 15:46

Sun roof

dubie4x8 2025-11-06 15:50

Hopefully this new prototype doesn’t take another 10 years before we hear about it again 🙏

cschelz 2025-11-06 15:56

If there aren’t machine guns behind the headlights, or a metal spike dispenser in the trunk, I’m going to be very disappointed. At the very least it should have retractable skis or active camouflage.

[deleted] 2025-11-06 15:56

Put all the vaporware together, it’s greater than that.

Harryhodl 2025-11-06 16:01

Maybe it’s Tesla announcing they are entering the eVTOL market to compete with archer and joby.

Ordinary-Cake8510 2025-11-06 16:02

I read an article the other day about a black hole nasa has been looking at since 2018. 7 years here on earth equals 2 years there. So, I can confirm without a reasonable doubt that Elon is building this in said black hole. BOOM!

unpluggedcord 2025-11-06 16:06

I mean you can, its just not gonna be from Tesla.

WrongdoerIll5187 2025-11-06 16:07

I think it’s going to be a flying car

WrongdoerIll5187 2025-11-06 16:07

I do think it’s this.

Aptosauras 2025-11-06 16:08

Considering they could have taken a tweeked Model Y chassis and drivetrain, gave it the Plaid treatment, wacked in some sports seats and a "sporty" interior, put the roadster body on top, and done. Instead they have three production lines that sell only 70,000 units combined per year worldwide, and are now about to spend billions and have four lines that sell only 90,000 per year worldwide. If it wasn't for the Y and 3, Tesla would have been cooked many years ago. The Roadster at $300,000 will be a flop no matter how good it is because of the price, the Semi will be a flop if it ever comes to production at $450,000 because of a plethora of cheaper and more practical alternatives right now, Optimus robot will never make it out of the lab and into people's homes. Man, Tesla just burns billions of dollars and only has a couple of aging income streams.

mexican_chicken_soda 2025-11-06 16:13

He's likely referring to integrating spacex cold gas thrusters for midair hovering (2-3 seconds max). Could be a fun Toy Box feature. My prediction is that he literally might launch the roadster from a Starship/Falcon9 rocket and have the car release from altitude and land back safely (aligns with his statements of a good or bad unforgettable product demo).

suedester 2025-11-06 16:15

Can’t people get a refund whenever they want?

alwaysforward31 2025-11-06 16:20

Poor Elon, people don't rightfully believe his hype anymore so he has make up even more extreme and hyperbolic statements. Remember how much he hyped up Cybertruck? It was supposed function as a boat 😂

alwaysforward31 2025-11-06 16:21

Hahaha no.

rideincircles 2025-11-06 16:37

Just unleash it on nurembourg and show us what it can do.

Munkadunk667 2025-11-06 16:54

Most likely, however stringing people along for 7+ years, and now it probably won't be out for ~2 more years. It's a bit ridiculous.

twinbee 2025-11-06 16:55

So you think the demo's not happening? If the bet was on Polymarket that the demo would take place before the end of next year, I'd put serious money on it.

twinbee 2025-11-06 16:56

Exactly, he doubts it too. He's not 100% certain it will happen this year.

twinbee 2025-11-06 16:57

Yes they can. I think the CEO of OpenAI - Sam Altman - did just that.

wastapunk 2025-11-06 17:04

hahahahahahh

LarryP33 2025-11-06 17:07

Demo happening? Don’t know nor do I care. Is he an absolute moron? Undoubtedly yes 100%.

twinbee 2025-11-06 17:08

Is there anyone here still as excited as I am about this?

LarryP33 2025-11-06 17:09

Does Poly have an O/U on how many brain cells he has left? I’d slam the under

T0TALDJ 2025-11-06 17:15

If there was one dream car that had everything I wanted — speed, looks, range, agility, 4 seats, and low maintenance— it was the “new” Roadster. I’d argue putting the thing out would have boosted the brand and would have been a slam dunk for electric supercars. Instead, Elon was just tricking all rich people to borrow their money interest free.

Digitlnoize 2025-11-06 17:20

Remind me 10 years lol.

NikolaWasRight13 2025-11-06 17:25

After the failure of the Cybertruck, I have zero optimism about the roadster. Its already lost its lore. Refund deposits, and invest in actual useable range at 70 mph.

Bringerer 2025-11-06 17:26

Ahh man you really collected all wrong answers and numbers about Tesla and put them in one post. Congrats. Just last quarter Tesla sold 497,099 cars worldwide with earnings over 21 billion (that is just quarter man)

-GrnMonster- 2025-11-06 17:27

Star Citizen or the Tesla Roadster? Which comes out first?

who_what_when_314 2025-11-06 17:36

$1,000,000,000,000 to this guy?

Aptosauras 2025-11-06 17:49

Geez that's a lot of cars! How many combined Model S, X and Cybertrucks did Tesla sell worldwide in the entirety of 2024? The Roadster was quoted as costing $200,000 to $250,000 8 years ago by Musk. Inflation takes a toll so estimating $300,000 is probably being generous. The Semi I got a bit wrong after some research right now. About $180,000 was first quoted 8 years ago, which is expected to rise to atleast $250,000 when (if) production begins. These figures are just rumoured and Tesla haven't released any expected price ranges.

LithoSlam 2025-11-06 17:50

Does that mean he's going roll it on a scenic road?

ZobeidZuma 2025-11-06 18:17

They could have built a two-door Model 3 with T-tops and sporty styling. Tesla Firebird. They could have built a car based on the 2017 design with the batteries and technology they had at that time, with realistic specs (it likely would have been well received), and by now they'd be getting ready to reveal the third-gen Roadster.

ZobeidZuma 2025-11-06 18:19

Today, in the USA, we can't get one from any car company. They're coming, though, and some of them will be on the market before this thing ever condenses out of the vapor.

ZobeidZuma 2025-11-06 18:21

I was super excited in 2017 when we first saw it. That was my dream car. But now? No. It's too late and evolved in the wrong direction.

unpluggedcord 2025-11-06 18:52

https://www.rimac-automobili.com/nevera/

sailirish7 2025-11-06 19:02

Yeah. If he hits all the targets and generates trillions for investors.

ZobeidZuma 2025-11-06 21:08

That's odd. . . I got a message where you asked if I got my refund, but I don't see it now. Did you delete it? The answer is yes, I got my deposit refunded, but not the way you imagine. I put in the $50,000 pre-order deposit on the original Tesla Roadster back in 2006. And that's a long story that I'd be happy to recount if anyone really wants to hear, but the thumbnail version is: After a lot of delays and chaos my patience and enthusiasm ran out and I demanded my money back. And I got it, but man, they really didn't want to. I didn't want to go through that whole experience again with the new Roadster, so I just said I'll wait until it's shipping and the reviews are in, and then I'll look into maybe getting one. I've had plenty of reasons to be happy about that decision over the last several years.

twinbee 2025-11-06 21:18

No worries. I deleted it, because your comment didn't say anywhere that you purchased one, so I didn't want to jump to conclusions.

GeologistNo2065 2025-11-06 22:31

That just makes you a bad gambler

twinbee 2025-11-06 22:33

Let's see who's comment ages like milk.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-11-07 00:03

It’s pretty clear that they’re talking about the models other than the Model 3 and Y. The S, X, and Cybertruck are not selling well.

Poker_3070 2025-11-07 01:06

>Cybertrucks did Tesla sell worldwide in the entirety of 2024? As for the CT, we should start counting worlwide when they delivery those worldwide, not just in the US.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-11-07 14:36

It's available in the US, Mexico, Canada, and South Korea. Looks like they're still on track for under 25,000 units sold this year. When it launched Elon said they were targeting 125,000 per year from their production line in Austin, TX with the ability to go to 250,000 in 2025.

Academic_Release5134 2025-11-08 00:16

He has too many free ones to give away. This car is vaporware

nooganz 2025-11-08 01:48

The comments crack me up all the nah sayers lol. If any of the negative donkey s have remotely achieved. 01% of what Elon has in the last 3 days put ya hands up.

Angelshover 2025-11-08 11:39

Lmao he’s so full of shit

vicmarcal 2025-11-09 19:45

Wasnt he trying to add a Jet to the Roadster? Is he still pursuing such idea?

ThatPaper5624 2025-11-09 22:31

this article is an excellent example of Tesla and Archers' competition if Tesla plans on getting into flying cars, Joby...... [https://evtolbuzz.com/2025/11/joby-s4-t-the-high-t-warfighter-evtol/](https://evtolbuzz.com/2025/11/joby-s4-t-the-high-t-warfighter-evtol/)

Dr_Pippin 2025-11-12 03:57

Apparently you have no experience with hypercars made by other manufacturers.

opal_diggeroneBay 2025-11-27 02:46

I like the way Joe makes a statement and then backs it up with “ it’s on reddit 🍌❤️”
