New wheels?

tybeaucamp 2025-10-05 12:35

Home HVAC system.

short_bus_genius 2025-10-05 12:41

No other car on the market has wheels!!!!!!

specter491 2025-10-05 12:43

Is there really a market for that?

TiredMillennialDad 2025-10-05 12:51

Looks like HVAC to me

greygabe 2025-10-05 12:56

Residential HVAC would make sense. They teased it long ago. There are big opportunities for heat pump based systems with room level or at least zone level control. Would pair nicely with solar and powerwall. I also expect them to show something off, not ship it for years, and not scale it for a decade. And use it more as a stock pump than a product. But maybe it will help move the industry along regardless...

realocco 2025-10-05 13:06

Looks like GPU fan, FSD 14

MisterBumpingston 2025-10-05 13:07

How different is Tesla’s heat pump compared to the existing giants like Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Daikan?

greygabe 2025-10-05 13:09

$300B per year roughly

greygabe 2025-10-05 13:11

No one really makes heat pump systems that pump heat around the house as far as I know. Only heat pump systems that are designed for one or a few rooms. And they're not designed to take heat from one room and put it in another. In the EV world this is called heat scavenging.

TheKingOfSwing777 2025-10-05 13:58

Lol. Yes. Basically zero American right now. American made would be huge.

mechmess 2025-10-05 14:07

There are a bunch of manufacturers making whole home, ducted heat pumps for heating and air conditioning. A traditional air conditioner is one- it just doesn’t pump the refrigerant the other way as a hot/cold heat pump does.

Ignacio_Mainardi 2025-10-05 14:07

I think there are commercial units with Variable Refrigeration Flow that can cool a room and move that heat to another one with a heating demand.

SwayingTreeGT 2025-10-05 14:10

To the people saying HVAC, isn’t that a closed fan? More like an aero cover than fan blade?

Sea_Location_945 2025-10-05 14:17

Lower cost model y?

Logitech4873 2025-10-05 14:23

Whatever it is, it's very off balance

faktory244 2025-10-05 14:35

Finally fixed windshield wipers?

no_dice 2025-10-05 14:40

I have a 2.5 Ton central ducted heat pump made by Daikin.

DreadWeaper 2025-10-05 14:44

Ye I’m on team gpu

Capable-Reach7509 2025-10-05 15:14

Electronic shades for the Model X’s windshield lol

Typedre85 2025-10-05 15:22

It’s a vent fan for your home toilet… now powered by Tesla batteries

greygabe 2025-10-05 15:27

Can it take heat out of one room and send it to another? Or does it just take heat from outside and put it in the cold room?

greygabe 2025-10-05 15:28

But is there a heat exchanger in each room in these systems? I think that only exists in commercial or industrial.

mechmess 2025-10-05 15:32

You just have one heat exchanger in the utility room and the heated or cooled air is ducted to the rest of the house just like if you had a regular furnace. Some systems come with supplemental electric heating elements in for extreme cold situations if the heat pump can’t cover the total heating load.

greygabe 2025-10-05 15:35

Yeah I think that's what will make the Tesla system special for residential. A heat exchanger in every room.

[deleted] 2025-10-05 15:38

Roadster?

d00mt0mb 2025-10-05 15:39

New airplane ✈️

mechmess 2025-10-05 15:39

There are tons of manufactures that do multi room ductless, even the Mr Cool DIY. Diakin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Gree, Midea. It’s nothing new… if they package it with solar and battery they could do some cool stuff, but doubtful they would do anything that doesn’t already exist on the market.

greygabe 2025-10-05 15:42

Oh cool - didn't know multi room ductless was already this available. But this still seems like a perfect match for Tesla. Big brand comes in and refines and adds clean software.

ahuang2234 2025-10-05 16:15

To confirm my understanding, You are saying there are no American home HVAC company right now? ????

no_dice 2025-10-05 16:16

I’m not sure what you mean by taking the heat out of one room and putting it to another? Each room has ducts and air is delivered to them. I have sensors in each room and a central thermostat for control.

greygabe 2025-10-05 16:18

Imagine if every room had an intelligent inlet and output. If one is hot and the other is cold, you could transfer the heat instead of making new heat. It would most likely be ductless and done by pumping refrigerant around. But you get the idea.

TheKingOfSwing777 2025-10-05 16:27

No hardware manufacturers that I'm aware of.

ahuang2234 2025-10-05 16:29

The other way around lol. Most of the world uses ductless AC, so pretty much all the HVAC manufacturing happens in the US. Carrier is the biggest one.

TheKingOfSwing777 2025-10-05 16:38

Oh yeah I'm completely wrong. I guess I was mostly thinking about mini splits, which even US brands rebrand Midea and Gree.

a_velis 2025-10-05 16:38

Asking the real question.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-10-05 16:40

Yeah that’s an aero cover for a wheel. My guess is the new base trim for the Model Y. With the tax credit gone they really need a lower entry price.

ArtOfWarfare 2025-10-05 16:43

They already started selling the Model Y Standard on Friday, didn’t they?

no_dice 2025-10-05 16:45

Sounds a lot like a more complex HRV/ERV system? I have an HRV that’s basically just meant to recover/recirculate heat and exchange air during the winter.

bob_vu 2025-10-05 16:49

The way it starts up and wobble. HVAC

9mmNATO 2025-10-05 16:49

Past_Explanation69 2025-10-05 16:56

Roadster teaser

awm071 2025-10-05 17:05

My theory. It's related to the tire pressure monitoring system. Tesla is replacing those expensive Bluetooth devices with pure software. Making it easier than ever to get very well balanced tyres and saving costs as well. No part is better than no part... Or something along. Thank you Tesla engineers for constantly improving the cars. Even after 6 years and 130.000 km my Tesla Model 3 puts a big smile on my face every day

feurie 2025-10-05 17:22

No. You can easily check that yourself.

feurie 2025-10-05 17:23

They didn’t really tease it. They were throwing around a bunch of ideas. And since then they said it wasn’t really something they were currently pursuing.

feurie 2025-10-05 17:26

Purely software TPMS has existed. The problem is you lose a direct read of TPMS. You just know one tire is spinning faster or slower than the other. It could be temperature, or tread wear, etc. it’s also just a guess and the owner has to go and check themselves. Direct read is better.

One_Kaleidoscope_149 2025-10-05 17:37

Tesla VTOL vehicle?

Radiobamboo 2025-10-05 17:37

Tesla, the washing machine!

Cjx2k 2025-10-05 17:49

A fan addon to cool down your mobile charger in hot climates.

Loan-Pickle 2025-10-05 18:01

HVAC would be interesting. My AC/Furnace is 20 years old. So I’m going to have to replace it some time.

Whale_Poacher 2025-10-05 18:34

You really think they’re going to tease a product reveal for a tpms? Bold.

SnooRegrets5651 2025-10-05 18:47

It’s the suction fans for the new downforce system on the Roadster. They filed a patent application for it a month ago. This system was “recently” showcased on the McMurtry Speirling. What makes it unique in the Roadster is that Tesla will try and make a fan-based downforce system in a factory stock car. And that’s what Tesla does: They take experimental technology and make it mass produce-able. Specifically for the roadster, you need the downforce to go faster than 0-100km/h in 2s on road tires in “normal situations”. Especially if they slap the cold thrusters on it.. then you need to keep it on the road otherwise you’d have owners fly of the road - literally.

krnl_pan1c 2025-10-05 19:19

>If one is hot and the other is cold, If that's happening then the system was not designed correctly to begin with.

RazingsIsNotHomeNow 2025-10-05 19:29

Such a system only makes sense for massive houses. For it to actively remove heat from a room when people are not in it, would require room by room presence sensors. Secondly houses are rarely insulated in interior walls, so heat won't necessarily stay in a singular room well. It will dissipate through the thin interior walls to other rooms. Lastly people won't want to wait for a room to heat up everytime they walk in to one, so either the ducting needs to be really large to allow for rapid heating of a room or you will limit the amount of scavenging from rooms to prevent it from dropping the temp too low and thus limiting efficiency gains defeating the purpose of installing such an immensely expensive and complicated setup.

Scandibrovians 2025-10-05 19:32

Noticed as well lol

jekksy 2025-10-05 19:58

HVAC?!

kevin379721 2025-10-05 20:33

Just so sassy on Reddit for no reason lol

napalmthechild 2025-10-05 21:32

Roadster would be wild

canikony 2025-10-05 22:49

Definitely crappy looking wheel covers. Probably the cheaper model Y.

NGL_BrSH 2025-10-05 23:18

Please stop typing. I might die of priapism.

OriginalType5433 2025-10-06 00:05

Landscape equipment

ice__nine 2025-10-06 00:19

1. It's wobbling. Nothing substantial would wobble like that. 2. The pitch increase of the sound doesn't match the rpm increase This could even just be a Sora video and we all got trolled LOL

kri_kri 2025-10-06 00:45

I hope it’s a sprinter van

Zephron29 2025-10-06 01:30

fr, it's not like this is a forum for... discussion, or anything.

asterlydian 2025-10-06 02:41

Looks like you may be right  https://x.com/tesla/status/1975005586283434056?s=46&t=DJmv2YLmRbUb4ElSRE6fow

arpatil1 2025-10-06 03:23

“Within specs”

Sea_Location_945 2025-10-06 12:30

We will find out soon.

Donnerkopf 2025-10-06 15:08

FSD vacuum cleaner with headlights.

nonebackwards 2025-10-06 18:57

I thought they were evtol blades at first. Extra diversification would be the last thing they need right now though when they can’t see through half the promises they make

Quin1617 2025-10-07 02:57

Yeah I’d be terrified to drive the Roadster if it has that system.

immortalalchemist 2025-10-07 17:54

I wonder if Elon will say some stupid acronym for TACO not related to Trump because it’s taco Tuesday and national taco day.

immortalalchemist 2025-10-07 17:58

Looks too wide to be a model Y. It’s most likely the Roadster. Plus, if it were the lower cost Y it would share the same headlamp strip which this doesn’t have. Also the fans are to help the downforce.

Sea_Location_945 2025-10-07 18:29

Got emm.
