.. What does this mean?? … I Said What Does this Mean!! hyper tech scale up? its happening isnt it holy cow its finallt happening :’D

Vtrin 2025-09-04 04:36

Not in Canada

Ok_Tone_4503 2025-09-04 04:48

I’m in waitlist !

sdc_is_safer 2025-09-04 05:01

I just joined the waitlist. But sadly this is a close to meaningless milestone. But probably means they will start adding a few people soon

daan87432 2025-09-04 05:17

I think the scaling up will depend on Tesla being confident enough to remove the safety monitors. This might not happen before V14 is released and fine-tuned.

Terrible_Soil_4778 2025-09-04 05:33

Only in select regions

cac2573 2025-09-04 05:53

Took them long enough  Edit: looks like my favorite edm venue is in the service area 👀

mittypyon 2025-09-04 05:56

Android, when? 🥲

wwwz 2025-09-04 07:07

Apple is no longer king, get with it.

get-a-mac 2025-09-04 07:13

Why a separate app? Why can’t it be in my Tesla app?

L0ngcat55 2025-09-04 07:17

"Available to all apple users in select regions" *

Jps300 2025-09-04 07:34

Because most people using robotaxi won’t have a Tesla and don’t need any of the current functions of that app.

Logitech4873 2025-09-04 08:04

No it's not.

ILikeWhiteGirlz 2025-09-04 08:37

Optimus app is gonna be awesome

SnooRobots3331 2025-09-04 09:07

Yes it is

Logitech4873 2025-09-04 09:20

Does "all" mean something different to you?

drnicko18 2025-09-04 09:23

\*depending on location\*

jonas_man 2025-09-04 10:37

Does anyone else see an offline message?

jinjuu 2025-09-04 11:17

Don't forget to opt out of arbitration if you sign up. If Robotaxi/FSD gets into an accident, you’ll be stuck at a corpo judge paid by Tesla to tell you to piss off.

comraddan 2025-09-04 11:57

Not setting an option to opt out. I only have an “I agree to all button”

moldy912 2025-09-04 12:38

When you get an iPhone duh

gogators1000 2025-09-04 13:05

I’d like to think they wouldn’t just release the app to all US iPhone users if it wasn’t going to expand to new regions in the next few months but who knows.

mittypyon 2025-09-04 13:08

Why would I want to ever do that?

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2025-09-04 13:15

So you don’t get kicked out of a blue bubble group chat. 🤣

jinjuu 2025-09-04 13:17

You have to send them a letter!

mittypyon 2025-09-04 13:21

I'm not getting kicked out of anywhere. Android is a far superior and non restrictive platform compared to iOS.

Inside_Equivalent197 2025-09-04 14:01

its built using react native, shouldnt be long before android comes out

rdtuse 2025-09-04 14:33

Sorry I didn't catch that when I created the post, I copied what Tesla had in their IG post description.

edit_why_downvotes 2025-09-04 14:40

Found the person who still takes phone OS wars seriously.

mittypyon 2025-09-04 14:49

How? I just asked for the Android version. Shibbaloma.

sdc_is_safer 2025-09-04 15:01

Well. Even if they were not going to expand to new regions anytime soon… they would still launch the app to all us iPhone users. There is no such thing as per city launches of iPhone apps. So I think this has 0 indication of expansion to more regions. That said… I do think Tesla will expand to several cities next year

edit_why_downvotes 2025-09-04 15:02

I'm talking about your replies to something that was obviously a joke. Anyways, you do you.

[deleted] 2025-09-04 15:09

mittypyon 2025-09-04 15:20

This is misinformation.

mittypyon 2025-09-04 15:20

Likewise.

[deleted] 2025-09-04 15:22

[deleted]

mittypyon 2025-09-04 15:29

iOS has historically been a restrictive platform. You're not going to weasel your way out of this one, shill.

gogators1000 2025-09-04 15:32

Is it all US or just some regions in the US?

Infamous_Staff1271 2025-09-04 15:41

When available on google play

moldy912 2025-09-04 16:13

It’s a joke chill

drbain1 2025-09-04 16:40

Why does Elon hate Android?

drumpat01 2025-09-04 17:22

Downloaded! Not sure if it will mean anything here in Fort Worth, but we do have a service center just about a mile away so maybe one day!

ForGreatDoge 2025-09-04 19:21

Available everywhere in specific locations

Adencor 2025-09-04 19:48

because using Uber and Lyft today somehow don’t also require agreeing to binding arbitration? are those judges paid by Uber and Lyft?

kwright88 2025-09-04 20:23

It is now

EljayDude 2025-09-04 21:18

It does use your Tesla login but I can see why they'd want to split it out for non Tesla users.

get-a-mac 2025-09-04 21:19

Non Tesla EV owners already have to use the Tesla app to activate superchargers.

EljayDude 2025-09-04 21:28

And a lot of them find it confusing and annoying instead of having a dedicated app. My friends complain about it anyway.

jinjuu 2025-09-04 21:40

You should’ve opted out of those too. Why are we bringing other companies into this? Just because it’s standard practice doesn’t mean it’s OK. Tesla, Uber, Lyft don’t care about you and don’t want to be held accountable when things go wrong. You should always opt out.

jasoncross00 2025-09-04 23:34

Well sure. But it's an Uber. There's a guy in the driver's seat. Just like an Uber. Sure he's using "supervised FSD" but Uber drivers using Teslas could do that, too. The only real benefit here is that Tesla is a lot cheaper. They're basically operating at a loss (I'm sure), paying employees to be safety drivers but almost certainly not recouping the expense. They're trying to run it at the "driverless" price while paying a person to sit in the driver's seat. Hoping, one would assume, that the employee in the car is a temporary expense.

sdc_is_safer 2025-09-05 00:53

The app is available to download. But has any non influencer been onboarded yet? Anyone got in off the waitlist ?

sdc_is_safer 2025-09-05 00:55

They currently have several human staff for every 1 robotaxi. So it costs more than uber. Of course they are operating at a loss. But in Austin they don’t have a person in driver seat, they are in passenger seat

Vtrin 2025-09-05 01:09

Got it, thank you!

rkhan7862 2025-09-05 13:31

that’s all ridiculous, it feels like it shouldn’t have a legal standing.

GOA_AMD65 2025-09-05 16:11

I'm not anywhere close to either launch area (I'm in the US) and I downloaded it.

SerennialFellow 2025-09-05 18:14

Coz he wants to announce a phone based on it just to immediately get uninterested in the idea

Traditional_Appeal96 2025-09-05 18:17

I live in Austin I own a Tesla. I downloaded the Robotaxi app. It won’t let me login. It won’t let me make an account. This is true vaporware it’s just all more vaporware from Tesla.

nyrol 2025-09-05 20:57

Maybe to be on the far superior and less restrictive platform compared to Android?

beargambogambo 2025-09-05 21:42

True. But Android on RN is a bitch. Always has gotchas like safari for websites.

mittypyon 2025-09-06 01:46

Wrong.

yeettetis 2025-09-06 06:12

its literally only available in Austin Texas and Bay Area California...

nyrol 2025-09-07 00:53

Not even a little. iOS is objectively the better platform. As an Android developer, it's obvious.

mittypyon 2025-09-07 03:07

Fake News, Android is superior.

goodgreenganja 2025-09-07 13:05

Took my first two rides and they were absolutely incredible. $5.88 per ride vs $12 for Lyft, $16 for Uber. Logged into my YouTube Music account. Y’all were not kidding about the audio quality inside those cars. My second ride, as soon as I got in it instantly resumed playback which felt very cool. As someone who’s watched thousands of hours of FSD progress over the years, nothing had prepared me for actually experiencing it first hand. It was just so damn smooth. So quick. So confident. The next day I bought a single share. 😂

AndreLeComte 2025-09-07 19:43

Were the rides in Austin or San Francisco? How long did the wait list take?

riscten 2025-09-07 20:17

Why can't it be a website, honestly.

goodgreenganja 2025-09-08 03:22

Austin. Downloaded the app and joined the waitlist within the first few minutes on Wednesday night. Sometime mid-day Thursday at work I opened the app to check and, surprisingly, rather than showing the waitlist message, it mentioned that I was out of the service area. So when I got home I checked again and it was good to go. Edit: By the way, I never received an official "You're in!" email or any notification whatsoever so I think it's up to the person to just keep checking in on the app to know whether you're off the waitlist or not.

AndreLeComte 2025-09-08 04:43

Thank you. I would like to travel to try it, but I'm not sure if I'll still be stuck on the waitlist even when I'm within the service area.

goodgreenganja 2025-09-08 14:00

Dang, yeah I really wish I could tell you one way or the other, but….🤷🏻‍♂️. Good luck!

Creepy_Praline6091 2025-09-11 23:51

I have it downloaded and I'm on the waitlist. I will fly to Austin or wherever else it's available to use it as soon as I'm approved to ride on the network.

Ca_chillin 2025-09-16 07:10

I live in the Bay Area and got access yesterday. Took two rides this evening. I was very impressed with the way it drove. There was a Tesla employee in the driver seat but didn’t notice any interventions. Pick up and drop off needs some work still. Very excited for when this reaches true Robotaxi status. Based on this experience, it doesn’t seem far off.

sdc_is_safer 2025-09-16 07:14

Your experience means nothing. Sorry man. Tesla cars without safety drivers in public robotaxi service in bay are is many years away. I understand you had a good experience, but that’s not indicative. I’m not trying to be rude, that’s just how this works. I was asking about Austin. But my question has been answered because I got access as well and have also tried it. But in all regions including Austin safety drivers are included.
