Nice to see everyone show up (owners, potential owners, etc) for this event. Biggest sales, service, distribution centre in Western Canada.

That tent for the cybertruck is bad ass!

originalmember 2025-08-24 02:07

Why???

Decent-Gas-7042 2025-08-24 02:11

Remember when they kicked Tesla out of the Vancouver auto show a few months back? Crazy to see how things have changed

Decent-Gas-7042 2025-08-24 02:11

Some people like Tesla

originalmember 2025-08-24 02:14

Sure. But that’s a crazy line to see cars that are a dime a dozen these days.

mucall1 2025-08-24 02:27

Great to see people still supporting Tesla. 🤘🏼👍🏼🫡

danishversa 2025-08-24 02:28

What are they lining up for

markbraggs 2025-08-24 02:28

You should see lines people form for iPhones and game consoles!

ChickenFlavoredCake 2025-08-24 02:29

Exactly my question. Why would existing owners show up? Was there a bbq or giveaways / promos?

ChickenFlavoredCake 2025-08-24 02:42

But people lined up for those to buy them.

YagerD 2025-08-24 03:01

Still shocked thats the tent setup.

szhod 2025-08-24 03:01

/s

yhsong1116 2025-08-24 03:56

They can’t buy or pre order online ?

yhsong1116 2025-08-24 03:56

Yes there was

ChickenFlavoredCake 2025-08-24 03:59

Games and iphones? This is mostly a thing of the past. Midnight launches + in store lineups were mostly a pre-2015 thing. Maybe even pre-2010, the last time I lined up for something was Halo 3 in 2007. Online shopping wasn't all that prevalent back then

yhsong1116 2025-08-24 04:00

People line up to pick up their iPhones ordered online. Saw this happen last yr. People just love to line up

markbraggs 2025-08-24 04:02

Switch 2 is a very recent example where basically every store that did a midnight launch had people wrapped around entire buildings. 100-200 lined up people per store was not uncommon.

ChickenFlavoredCake 2025-08-24 04:10

oh wow, TIL!

DeadliestSin 2025-08-24 04:13

It is??

fizzerd1 2025-08-24 04:43

Were there any freebies that people were lining up for?

SufficientBee 2025-08-24 04:46

Why, were they giving away Teslas?

Vast-Intention 2025-08-24 04:55

Why?

Present-Ad-9598 2025-08-24 05:55

Well they had a DJ, I’m sure there was a little event there for locals to take part of (games, snacks, etc)

NoRandomIsRandom 2025-08-24 06:10

That's for trying your luck for swags - water bottles, hats, bags, etc.

YagerD 2025-08-24 06:28

Because it looks awful and isnt easy to setup and take down and it cost $3k. You're saying the picture with the tent op posted looks good and worth 3k?

Budhavan 2025-08-24 06:33

This isn't Vancouver.

Vast-Intention 2025-08-24 07:04

I didn’t know it was $3000. That is a lot.

ObeseSnake 2025-08-24 10:38

Tesla has been sending out emails for events for any new store or service center openings based on your account location. These events include food, music and Tesla swag as a grand opening party.

Independent_Ad_4271 2025-08-24 11:31

True 31 km away but r u saying a different mindset out of the city?

rasin1601 2025-08-24 13:33

Yes, we need to go electric and Musk is clearly not going anywhere.

Drakhn 2025-08-24 15:47

Such a joke.

jbcraigs 2025-08-24 15:58

>> Yes, we need to go electric and Musk is clearly not going anywhere. You got that right. The company lacks direction and surely doesn’t seem to be going anywhere at all! 🤷🏻‍♀️

fendiboy 2025-08-24 16:23

Free snacks 🤣

Asadafal 2025-08-24 16:25

Who the heck is lining up? Keep fascists out of b.c.

stikko 2025-08-24 16:32

Seriously if they had just pressed it to remove the wrinkles it’d look 100x better

Joatboy 2025-08-24 17:26

Price is right

ChuckJA 2025-08-24 18:47

Yep. For money

[deleted] 2025-08-24 19:36

Tesla owner here.  A decent fun car, but my last. After Elon’s actions the last couple of years, if I lived in Canada I’d be down at the BYD party instead. For me since I’m in California, BMW neue klasse is on deck.

Speeder172 2025-08-24 20:04

Thanks ! I don't understand why people are still attending and supporting this brand after what he did.

Speeder172 2025-08-24 20:05

I'm sure you got downvoted for it...

FunnyProcedure8522 2025-08-24 20:11

I’m sure people would miss you. Go support CCP, no one cares.

DeadliestSin 2025-08-24 20:13

I wasn't aware Elon still had supporters

TranceMist 2025-08-24 20:17

Why would anyone queue up at a place that sells cars? The whole point with Tesla is you buy though the app and show up only to pick up. Avoiding sales people altogether.

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-24 22:06

Because his companies make the best cars, obviously? And I like the bulk of his policy stances too, if that even mattered.

Greenjeeper2001 2025-08-25 03:17

I think most Tesla supporters support tesla and not a ceo.

VideoGameJumanji 2025-08-25 06:29

Port Coquitlam is an entirely different city. What do you not understand. It’s a much less metropolitan region with different politics etc. Do you understand how cities can be in the same state or province and not have the same perceptions and politics? This is also many months later

VideoGameJumanji 2025-08-25 06:38

It’s for opening day food and festivities, I don’t understand why that needed explaining.

VideoGameJumanji 2025-08-25 06:40

You would rather buy a car produced and manufactured in china, a communist country, than a car made in America because you don’t like the ceo. That’s a mighty fine high horse champ, keep your balance.

Odd_Analysis6454 2025-08-25 06:56

It’s more than just the CEO, worldwide people are viewing the US less favourably so it shouldn’t be surprising that non Americans might not want to buy American cars.

VideoGameJumanji 2025-08-25 08:25

1) he said he’s American 2) even with everything going on, USA is more ethical to buy from than China and that will never not be the case. I don’t agree with current tariffs and US politics but I’ll never prefer china more If you guys want to morally grandstand, do a better job

DeadliestSin 2025-08-25 11:09

A CEO is the head of a company. You can't support the company without directly supporting him.

Independent_Ad_4271 2025-08-25 11:15

Thanks that’s why I asked if being a totally different place meant politics and views.

VideoGameJumanji 2025-08-25 20:51

Idk why you were downvoted lmao

VideoGameJumanji 2025-08-25 20:54

1) That’s not Vancouver, that’s Port Coquitlam, an entirely different city 2) they didn’t get kicked out of the auto show, they were asked to skip to avoid protestors damaging their cars and endangering attendees

Budhavan 2025-08-25 22:35

Reddit being reddit lol Probably just as bunch of Tesla shills that aren't from Metro Vancouver 😂

Budhavan 2025-08-25 22:38

Pretty much. Think Austin, TX and the surrounding areas.

genghbotkhan 2025-08-26 07:16

That Cybertent looks awful. Once again another failed promise of what the prototype looked like.

no_dice 2025-08-26 09:33

Yes? Just look at how urban vs. Suburban populations vote. As a quick example, Trump did 28% better in suburbs than urban areas in 2024.

Disastrous_Sky_73 2025-08-27 03:22

wouldn't want any swag, and I am a Y owner...

Disastrous_Sky_73 2025-08-27 03:24

yes

[deleted] 2025-08-27 16:21

Tech bros will think it's great for the photo ops 20 meters from the highway.

[deleted] 2025-08-27 16:23

I'm pretty sure the Canadian Teslas are chinese cars.

[deleted] 2025-08-27 16:26

You haven't traveled BC much have you ? I've worked BC jobs where they had an "N word count" during the tailgate meeting. And I don't mean laborers, I mean actual black people. Most of BC is farming, forestry and oil/gas, and all of those are predominantly anti-woke types.

VideoGameJumanji 2025-08-28 07:22

No, we have a massive import tariff on Chinese made cars so all the ones in Canada are from California or Texas.

IAMImportant 2025-08-28 09:48

*STFU!* money over morals ^^tm

[deleted] 2025-08-28 19:20

I see, it wasn't like that a year ago when I was looking to buy. The common discussion was the canadian/chinese cars were of better quality than the american ones. Which makes sense.
