Same in Aus

DayRepresentative110 2025-08-14 10:40

And no Grok at Finland as well... ☹️

nametaken_thisonetoo 2025-08-14 10:44

Oh no, how will they ever manage

bcyng 2025-08-14 11:28

Im sure there are reasons for the delay, but the way these countries have treated them, I’m not surprised…

Kandiak 2025-08-14 11:28

Consider that a feature. Mecha Hitler doesn’t need to be in anyone’s car

Logitech4873 2025-08-14 11:49

Same with Norway. Thank god.

CandidAsparagus7083 2025-08-14 12:19

Thank the maker!

DiagCarFix 2025-08-14 12:35

still no grok for intel. oh wait..intel in tesla can’t even handle browser, it shuts down randomly.

xXxjayceexXx 2025-08-14 12:40

You're not missing much

BigbigTimemachine 2025-08-14 13:35

I got Grok weeks ago. It’s just a chat bot, doesn’t control anything within the car. You can just run Grok app on your phone and it will mostly functioning the same.

Vic_waddlesworth 2025-08-14 13:41

I have US car imported into Canada. I got Grok but it won’t connect. Seems like it’s geofenced even for connecting

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-14 13:44

Ah yes, I want my car to have fewer useful options.

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-14 13:45

Grow up

Kandiak 2025-08-14 14:04

We’ll mark you down as a fan

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-14 14:05

Of a great service that can answer my questions naturally while driving? Absolutely. It's great.

LoogyHead 2025-08-14 14:09

The first question I asked it was what can it do and if there were plans to make it control car functions. It basically said what you said then added “Elon and his team of engineers are working on a future update for deeper integration, so we’ll see” I hadn’t used Grok at all before the car so I played with the voices. Wild to me it has a Conspiracy mode and a voice to sound like a disgruntled gamer to match.

[deleted] 2025-08-14 14:10

As an European I don‘t care. I‘d love to get FSD tho (I know the problem is not Tesla, it‘s our regulations…)

Kandiak 2025-08-14 14:14

I’ve not found myself needing to have white genocide explained to me while driving but everyone is different

Domukin 2025-08-14 14:18

I didn’t even realize this was a thing in the US

Mikep976 2025-08-14 14:19

Yeah, join the club Canada -all HW3 owners

FriendlyFriendster 2025-08-14 14:40

They're not missing much, I got the update weeks ago, used it once to test it out and haven't touched it since. Once they add functionality to let it control the car, then I think I'll be more interested in using it.

Conscious-Tutor3861 2025-08-14 14:52

Another reason to be thankful for living in Canada.

flocoon 2025-08-14 14:54

Could make sense for someone not to want Grok in his car don't you think ? I mean if you can completely disable it then I agree with you but I don't know if that will be an option ?

CableBoyJerry 2025-08-14 15:01

What useful options would Grok offer in a car? Automatically accelerating when it sees a person with a yarmulke crossing the street?

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-14 15:02

What are you talking about? You literally have to activate it to use it. You think it just pops up randomly? There's no downside to it existing. If you want to use it, then use it, and if you don't, then don't. It's not going to bother you if you don't want it.

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-14 15:04

What? It's literally just a voice chatbot. Like ChatGPT. You ask it a question and it responds back with an answer. It doesn't control your driving lol. So if you have a question while you're driving, you can get a natural answer immediately. That's why it's useful.

SillyMilk7 2025-08-14 15:05

It can’t do any car functions. Here’s what I’ve done with it so far: Had it tell me the news and then USA news and then my city news. Played with the various voices and personas. Went over some work issues I was having. I haven’t had issues in many years so the first day it helped me calm down and then the next day I came up with a game plan. Leaving work yesterday and today going to work, I used the storyteller mode and it told me a short sci-fi story. I wish it had my GPS location so it could act as a concierge and a tour guide.

CableBoyJerry 2025-08-14 15:09

I know. I'm being facetious

spacetimelime 2025-08-14 15:18

Be aware that LLMs don't usually know anything about their future (or their hardware, or their version) that they can't find in a public search or their system prompt. They make up text that continues a good story from your question.

Single_Turnover_2301 2025-08-14 15:47

You’re not missing anything. It’s nothing special, if anything, it’s quite useless.

Inert82 2025-08-14 16:12

Yeah it’s a shame, I was really looking forward to it, instead our summer update was «minor fixes»

East_Coast_3337 2025-08-14 16:56

Would anyone even want that? Given Grok's racist and MechaHitler outbursts, I wouldn't want to drive past either a Synagogue or Mosque for fear the car might suddenly stage some sort of attack on innocent religious communities.

New_Reputation5222 2025-08-14 17:13

So, it's Siri? Cool, my Hyundai could answer questions 10 years ago, but never referred to itself as MechaHitler. I'll stick to the not right wing extremist assistant.

TissueAndLube 2025-08-14 18:13

Maybe it fixed the wipers 😬.

Linkd 2025-08-14 18:56

Yeah.. the current grok implementation is buggy af

handslikeadisco 2025-08-14 22:12

Still no Grok for Intel MCUs

speed7 2025-08-14 23:09

You're upset they haven't put Mecha Hitler in your car? I'd decline it if it were an option.

wenchanger 2025-08-15 03:47

Grok 4 is smarter than most human PHDs according to Elon

Zealousideal_Aside96 2025-08-15 04:00

Regardless of what you think of Grok, Siri is certified dogshit and worse than every AI chatbot

BigbigTimemachine 2025-08-15 04:17

The dream for the future would be if Grok can access the brain of FSD and can communicate with me what’s its thinking and next move. So I can course correct and alter it with my own preference. Such as don’t merge until the 2 fast cars behind us pass first. Watch out for the car that’s trying to merge, Do you see the construction zone ahead? Ready to slow down. Just stay on the right lane until the exit ramp,, etc. And it would have a memory that store these personal preferences.

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-15 04:25

This is your brain on Reddit.

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-15 04:25

If you actually believe that, you're hopeless.

6100315 2025-08-15 05:00

flocoon 2025-08-15 11:52

I’m in Europe and don’t have access to it. Pardon me for asking question… *You think it just pops up randomly?* If experience serves me right, it will be down the line. Just look how every company is eagerly pushing there AI “features”.

moldy912 2025-08-15 12:20

Stop fearmongering

cohix 2025-08-15 12:49

Thank god

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-15 14:42

Can you name an OS that constantly shoves an LLM chat app in your face?

Neither-Phone-7264 2025-08-15 16:12

Oh no.

i kept getting multiple choice questions but instead of reading the options it just asked the question and gave the answer…”Which of these animals is a mammal? the answer is B, dolphin!”

I couldn’t activate grok in my car. How does it work?

Siciliano777 2025-08-15 22:01

Is this just for new models? I don't have grok in my M3. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

hammerklau 2025-08-15 22:25

Some AI have information about itself hard coded in as part of its implementation, and a pathway to current documentation.

MoreAgreeableJon 2025-08-16 02:28

Trump said they had to pay their fair share first. Freedom isn’t free.

MonsieurVox 2025-08-16 17:10

>Tesla is not releasing Grok to its Canadian car owners because of the current and upcoming consumer privacy policies of the country. The proposed [C-27 bill](https://www.parl.ca/legisinfo/en/bill/44-1/c-27#:~:text=Background%20information,on%202022%2D11%2D04)) is under consideration in the House of Commons; Tesla is preparing for compliance in advance. >The C-27 bill also proposes laws to govern consumer privacy related to the use of AI called the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act (AIDA). This bill is not yet in effect, but the US-based automaker and Elon Musk-owned xAI are working to follow the requirements even before the bill becomes law. >**Because it’s** [**conversational AI**](https://www.teslaoracle.com/2025/07/01/tesla-hacker-leaks-grok-integration-ui-voice-types-personas-modes-hw3-compatibility-and-more/)**, Grok can be used during a drive. This is potentially a distraction for the driver.** Tesla is also facing delays in deploying Grok because of regulatory compliance with Transport Canada, the country’s authority for transport regulations. (Commenting mainly on the bold portion) I mean, that's not false, but the same could be said about talking with a passenger, listening to the radio/a podcast, listening to music, Caraoke, or, I don't know, interacting with a touchscreen while driving. *Anything* that isn't 100% focus on the road in total silence could be "a distraction." It just seems silly to point out. It's not factually incorrect, but it's not really any different than talking on the phone via Bluetooth. I can understand/appreciate the uncertain regulatory environment as a reason for why Grok isn't available elsewhere, but calling it "a distraction" feels like a weak argument.

Gigtooo 2025-08-17 09:09

Same everywhere else sweetie.

mchotdograp 2025-08-22 08:45

Can’t imagine how long it will take for making your Tesla work as a Robotaxi in Canada.

TechDudeInBlue 2025-08-27 02:55

You’re not missing much. I wonder why this is even region locked

M3NTALMAGIC 2025-09-23 00:19

Tesla should make a Canadian version of grok, easy fix. But waiting for Canadian privacy laws to change -never gonna happen
