Yes it's a holder that fits in your door compartment. It's also a rubber material to prevent vibration and holds the adapter securely. I use mine every day.

Just search "Tesla adapter door holder" or something on your 3d repository of choice. Never bothered to find that exact design, but there's a lot of similar ones around. I just leave mine in the center console. I don't think I've ever used it.

This is great word of caution. Don’t get anything inside of it with it facing upish. I personally have mine in a sunglasses slip case that is padded and it cost me $5. Then like the others I keep it in the center console. Then when I use it I put the slip case on the dash so I do t forget it. Save me a few times.

So I've been thinking about that. I drive my lfp m3 about 50 miles/day, and I charge with a 110v outlet, every day. I lose a little each day, and I catch up on the weekends, especially in the winter. I just keep the charge limit at 100 because that's what it tells me to do. If I install a 240, it'll almost never go below 80%. Even though it's an lfp, that doesn't seem great for the battery health. But you're also supposed to plug it in every day... I haven't decided what I'm going to do here.
You need to charge LFP to full fairly regularly to help calibrate the BMS, but you still don’t want to leave it at a high state of charge for long periods of time. If you don’t need the range I would let it deplete some before charging back to 100%. I think I’ve heard once a week to 100% is plenty, and really more for calibration, not longevity of the battery.
I just put my adapter in the frunk. Rarely use it.
That's about what I've read too. I was thinking of putting the charge limit at 80, charging every night so I don't get out of the habit of plugging it in and forgetting, and then just on a weekend or something putting it all the way to 100.

Ooh okay. And this is something that's used in the US? I haven't seen them here in Europe at all, so I thought it was maybe an adapter to 110 dc or something (the 220 adapter is waaay to big to fit in the door, but maybe 110 isn't).
Correct, it's a US standard. The standard supports both 110v and 240v. The Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf used it. Nissan changed the plug to the NACS standard on the 2025 version for the US model, in the EU it still has the Type 2 plug. NACS has taken over as the standard plug for all EVs in the US. In EU they mainly use Type 2.
As a former Tesla Service Advisor I can confirm you want to fully charge LFP battery equipped models to 100% at minimum once a week for long term battery health. Honestly, with the LFP packs it's as simple as just leaving it at 100% and forgetting about it. Bonus fact: you can supercharge to your hearts content, those packs love it
Doesn't leaving it at high states of charge still degrade the battery? I've always read that charging it to full is just because of the voltage curve to make sure the BMS is calibrated.
The LFP cells behave a little different compared to most other ones. All the normal Li-Ion cells Tesla uses for instance, the recommendation is to leave the limit at 80% because charging to full is more detrimental to the pack health as a whole. On the LFP batteries it doesn't have this effect but leaving them at a lower state for more time DOES cause issues hence the recommendation to charge to 100% at minimum once per week and generally just recommending to leave the limit at 100%. That and the cells doing really well during DC charging events (supercharging) are why they were a favorite amongst the folks at my service center.
So what do you think about the pack never getting below 90%? If I charge every day and leave the limit at 100 it might never go below 90.
In that situation I'd probably just let it go a couple of days between charges depending on how long it'd take me to charge back up.
I've had issues with petg softening in my car too so print in abs or asa if your printer is capable

Do people use these adapters often? I have always had mine in the sub trunk and have never used an adapter in the 6+ years and 2 models that I've owned. I keep the mobile charger and various plugs in the sub trunk and only keep the nema 1450, 5-15 (normal 120v) for road trips just in case.
If you ever charge at a ChargePoint public charger or at work you need one.
Just throw it in the back side pocket. And leave some space for your door.
