Gimme dat!

bravestdawg 2025-07-16 20:16

I think it’s a little early to assume it’s Grok4…..if I told it Grok69 was the latest version, it’d probably agree that’s the version it’s on. Either way, a pretty cool and significant new feature in an otherwise lackluster Summer Update.

szzzn 2025-07-16 20:17

It’s grok 4

[deleted] 2025-07-16 20:20

Omacrontron 2025-07-16 20:31

Let’s gooooooo already I’m on 2025.20 :(

Buggabones1 2025-07-16 20:32

0.1% of the fleet isn’t exactly a “roll out” it’s more like a test before the actual roll out. A beta of a beta.

Mikep976 2025-07-16 20:38

Note to HW3 folks: we have no need to worry about pesky new features or updates, as we’ve been effectively forgotten about. One less thing to worry about right!

Hoodfu 2025-07-16 20:40

In anticipation of the rollout I gave voice mode a try on my phone. I'm spoiled by OpenAI's voice mode. It's not terrible but it's buggy and clearly needs a lot of refinement, this is aside from the constant "we're busy, try again later" that I keep getting.

ChunkyThePotato 2025-07-16 20:40

You made that up.

ChunkyThePotato 2025-07-16 20:43

Yes, exactly. The Grok system prompt just tells it that it's the latest version of Grok, so it has no way of knowing what version it actually is. Chuck got it to say that it's Grok 4 by telling it that Grok 4 is the latest version. And the author of this article ran with it because he's not very intelligent.

CandyFromABaby91 2025-07-16 20:44

There are video demos of it answering I am Grok 4. Also, Grok 3 didn’t have a great voice mode. This voice is Grok4 that was introduced last week.

Wonder when we in the EU get the Mecha-Hitler…very big political discussion in GER…

twinbee 2025-07-16 20:52

The new Grok 4 is doing really well. Here's the livestream: https://x.com/xai/status/1943158495588815072 [Greg Kamradt said](https://x.com/GregKamradt/status/1943169631491100856): > First, the facts: Grok 4 is now the top-performing publicly available model on ARC-AGI. <...> The previous top score was ~8% (by Opus 4). Below 10% is noisy. Getting 15.9% breaks through that noise barrier, Grok 4 is showing non-zero levels of fluid intelligence Grok 4 also scored 38.6% (44.4% with Grok Heavy) on Humanity's Last Exam, eclipsing Gemini 2.5 Pro's 26.9% score ([source 32 mins in](https://x.com/xai/status/1943158495588815072)).

[deleted] 2025-07-16 21:07

HOW ABOUT NO.

okwellactually 2025-07-16 21:10

No, He grok'd it. 😁

ChunkyThePotato 2025-07-16 21:14

No, all those videos have the user telling it that the latest version is Grok 4, so since its system prompt just tells it that it's the latest version, it simply repeats back that it's Grok 4. When they don't mention what the latest version is, it just says it's the latest version. It literally has no way of knowing what version it is. The system prompt is available on GitHub for anyone to view and you can see exactly what it knows about itself.

Karlchen 2025-07-16 21:22

You can try Grok3 voice mode for free and compare it to the videos of the Tesla integration. It‘s clearly different, because it’s the new Grok4 voice mode.

TheMadolche 2025-07-16 21:29

Alpha?

gunner_3 2025-07-16 21:34

Is it coming to 2020 intel cars?

epradox 2025-07-16 21:34

It’s available for hw3 people just amd only

CarCooler 2025-07-16 21:47

Really doubt it.

Itchy_Platypus4085 2025-07-16 21:48

Either way we have been left in the dust for other things like FSD.

NerdyGuy117 2025-07-16 21:49

Depends if you have AMD processor or Intel. There are HW3 vehicles with AMD CPUs, if so you get the grok features.

jimmy9120 2025-07-16 21:52

No

ospreyintokyo 2025-07-17 00:10

How can you tell if you have AMD? I have a 2021 Model Y

GoingLurking 2025-07-17 00:15

How do you check to know if you have Intel or AMD processor?

specter491 2025-07-17 00:16

Old tech is old, water is wet. See more tonight on channel 6 News.

Suriak 2025-07-17 00:16

Exactly. The promise that was made to us

drunkandslurred 2025-07-17 00:17

2022 is the earliest I believe

drunkandslurred 2025-07-17 00:18

I heard Ryzen cars only

Zealousideal_Aside96 2025-07-17 00:20

They started phasing in AMD for 2022

VideoGameJumanji 2025-07-17 00:22

You can find it in the car info section, theres a more info pop up or something of that sort that shows what your component info If you don’t currently have a full screen view of your car while parked , then you don’t have the intel chip

TechDudeInBlue 2025-07-17 00:23

Totally pointless

VariousLife733 2025-07-17 01:27

BFD... I had Alexa in the MINI SE 3yrs ago and it interacts with car settings - but it has buttons too :- ). It'll be nice for Tesla to catch-up - seeing as they're self proclaimed tech driven. Bit of a mistake to release something that won't work yet as far as useful, substantive car integration. Seems more like a way for folks to get exposure to it - a captive audience. Still... anything to help sales! ..and it'll be fun to mess with even if skewed towards drawing from X 'intelligence' (arguably some extreme views are swirled in there).

LessToppings 2025-07-17 01:40

On a long road trip, looking forward to having a heated debate between chatgpt ( on my phone )and grok about Elon is a net positive experience in humanity? I can be the moderator.

QuantumProtector 2025-07-17 01:54

Thankfully I have Ryzen, but HW3 FSD is dead rip

Famous-Weight2271 2025-07-17 01:59

Yes, but if you use Grok 4 in that way , it can take a long time to answer. 30 seconds or more. Well-researched answers are far from instantaneous. For talking to a car, we need a voice model that is real time.

goodvibezone 2025-07-17 02:08

Try sesame demo if you think the openai one is good. https://app.sesame.com/

mactwistz 2025-07-17 02:11

I wished so much FSD update on this firmware 😞

NivekTheGreat1 2025-07-17 02:29

What kind of car do you have? Do you have HW4?

NivekTheGreat1 2025-07-17 02:30

I’m an avid connoisseur of porn, but I don’t want to see Grok doing a 69 with ChatGPT or CoPilot. Ewww!

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 02:32

That’s how roll outs start.

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 02:33

And what about the voice?

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 02:35

So don’t use it?

ChunkyThePotato 2025-07-17 02:35

Huh? What about it?

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 02:36

Have to be in the car. It’s in the settings somewhere - can’t remember the name of the tab. But you cannot see from the app.

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 02:39

The person listed two reasons why it was Grok 4. You addressed one of them, so what about the other data point offered?

ChunkyThePotato 2025-07-17 02:44

Ah, I see. The new voice is called Eve, and that's not shown here. Ara is the old voice.

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 02:49

So you’re saying the voice in the vehicles isn’t the new voice that would be indicative of Grok4? I’ve never used any Grok and both my Model 3 are intel, so I won’t be anytime soon, either.

ChunkyThePotato 2025-07-17 03:08

Frankly I'm not sure Grok's voice mode is even related to Grok 4. It might be a completely separate model that's improving on its own path. But the new voices that contain the recent new improvements are called Eve and Sal, and those voices aren't available for Tesla right now.

Blackdragon1400 2025-07-17 03:21

Wow that’s incredibly useless without vehicle integration. The big allure was being able to use car functions with natural language and help set routes etc.

unicorncumdump 2025-07-17 03:42

I believe it's considered 2022.3 was the AMD implementation

HybridAlien 2025-07-17 03:44

Worse update ever unless you live in the US and own the newest model

CandyFromABaby91 2025-07-17 03:45

Stop making stuff up when you don’t know

Tusker89 2025-07-17 03:53

This is pretty neat. My only experience is with Gemini Live. I have to assume that is one of the worst. Sesame seemed way better.

[deleted] 2025-07-17 04:35

Link :)?

chemman14 2025-07-17 04:38

What promise?

Suriak 2025-07-17 04:45

Sigh… https://x.com/tesla/status/1120480117338398720?s=46&t=3ET466L6w8ynrrSgKxuuCQ

chemman14 2025-07-17 04:49

My hw3 model s does fsd very well

DamnXXXDaniel 2025-07-17 04:51

Tried it out today on the drive home and it’s actually a lot of fun to mess with. Hoping it can eventually work with navigation and car functionality though but this has huge potential in my opinion.

Suriak 2025-07-17 05:05

All hw3’s can self drive. Full self driving means something entirely different

Slipping-in-oil 2025-07-17 05:44

Rumors are out that intel will be included at some point.

CarCooler 2025-07-17 07:21

Very interesting scenario. Would love this video.

BikebutnotBeast 2025-07-17 11:30

Possibly in an upgrade release. This is just the beta and first iteration, same kind of rollout for nearly all other big changes. Features are almost always sent out as soon as possible with limited functionality, and then they're improved update to update over the next year.

BikebutnotBeast 2025-07-17 11:33

Agreed, basically "we're working on some really cool stuff, so check out this demo software now instead of in December".

whitemiketyson 2025-07-17 11:58

Anyone that bought their car on the promise of future capabilities is an idiot.

whitemiketyson 2025-07-17 11:59

2 weeks

chemman14 2025-07-17 12:27

Lolwut

renehasp 2025-07-17 13:14

😔

Omacrontron 2025-07-17 13:36

HW3 with Ryzen processor :/

NivekTheGreat1 2025-07-17 13:55

That’s the same I have. Looks like I’ll get it too!

[deleted] 2025-07-17 15:28

there won't be a debate, most likely they will both say "for all its shortcomings, its advantages significantly outweigh the disadvantages"

Buggabones1 2025-07-17 16:49

A roll out is continuous.

Buggabones1 2025-07-17 16:51

It’s like a concept of an alpha.

B1Turb0 2025-07-17 16:59

LOL never happy. Having AI at the tap of a button or voice summon in the car without your phone is utter rubbish!

Upstairs-Inspection3 2025-07-17 17:36

do you have proof that the videos are just users telling it that its Grok 4? or are you pulling that from thin air?

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 18:33

That's.... not true.

JamieTimee 2025-07-17 18:46

More of a preconception of an idea

majesticjg 2025-07-17 18:53

The HW3 computer is from 2018. Did you really believe it was future-proof when no other piece of technology is? How's your iPhone XS treating you?

majesticjg 2025-07-17 18:54

... eventually. Probably.

majesticjg 2025-07-17 19:01

I think it depends what you want to do. Grok isn't adjusting temperature or navigation routes, it's conversational. Therefore, Grok taking 30 seconds to invent a bedtime story for your kid in the backseat isn't really that bad.

Itchy_Platypus4085 2025-07-17 21:27

They also sold this as recent as 2023 so yeah. The difference, if you're talking iPhone xs, that was actually discontinued in 2019. Do you have a better argument?

YouBetterChill 2025-07-17 22:17

Stop crying. Tesla doesn’t owe you any updates.

majesticjg 2025-07-17 23:01

When you bought it in 2023, did you not know it was a 2018 innovation?

WhitePantherXP 2025-07-17 23:21

Xiaomi cars in China can interact with the car, can even use the cameras to identify a make and model you see on the highway. Say what you want about Elon, but had he not started Tesla...we'd somehow be even further behind than we already are.

ThumbyFingerton 2025-07-18 01:26

Nothing is future proof, but I think the current FSD on HW 4 in the model 3 is really good. Worth 3 or 4k, but not the 8 they’re asking. They could probably focus more on efficiency vs raw power in the future.

scubascratch 2025-07-18 03:29

2018 S with HW3 installing 2025.26 right now oddly enough. Not AMD

Itchy_Platypus4085 2025-07-18 10:48

Sure but can I not complain? And HW4 will be gone before we know it, onto HW5.

AJHenderson 2025-07-18 12:10

But he didn't start Tesla...

Childuhzz 2025-07-18 13:20

He acquired Tesla by corporate takeover and his fat pockets.

24xkingme 2025-07-18 16:33

I haven’t got it yet smh

majesticjg 2025-07-18 20:24

Very true.

majesticjg 2025-07-18 20:25

Yeah, HW4 will pass as all things do, but at least nobody's surprised by it. You can complain all you want, but it's not doing much except wasting time you can't get back.

BikebutnotBeast 2025-07-18 20:28

Very wrong. If there's any issues or bugs, they halt. Could be server estimations or data delays, all which allow staged rollouts to expand.

Breatheeasies 2025-07-18 21:13

Checked my 2022 model y it has it

SallWtreetDebts 2025-07-19 03:37

Musk essentially purchased the name. Pre-Elon, the "company" was a couple of guys working in a small industrial unit. They bought a kit car called a Piontek Sportech and put an electric motor in it, sourced from another company called AC Propulsion. They made three prototypes of this car, but not a single car was produced for sale. No original car designs, no cars, no customers. Ok, so they had the idea of powering the car with laptop batteries, which was cool, and clearly Elon thought so, too. So, when Elon came to see them, they had never designed or built a single production car. This is all they had. Essentially nothing much more than an idea.

AJHenderson 2025-07-19 13:30

Elon only became CEO at the very end of the roadster's development, the same year as its release. The roadster laid the foundation for most of what followed. Elon hired well and is a reasonably good businessman in that regard, but many of his key engineering decisions have been questionable at best. His willingness to take risks and identify decent talent is his biggest skill set but his alienation of so many has decimated that capability.

Johndus78 2025-07-19 16:31

But they hate Elon, so slander it is

CarCooler 2025-07-20 09:14

Go to Vehicle Options > Software > Additional Vehicle Information

MidnightAlgorithm 2025-07-20 10:33

lmfao, HW3 was in April 2019, and for the most part, people started receiving them with their 2020 model year cars. This was around when the order backlog was finally being fulfilled, and late 2019 was the first time you could actually order and receive a model 3 within a few weeks. The large majority of HW3 cars were produced well after 2020, maybe even 2021-2022. I guess you can exaggerate all you want, but it’s absolutely quite pathetic that there’s no upgrade path (at least right now) for m3 owners with iPhones 2 years older than their car getting iOS 26 this year. If you want to draw analogies, the least you could do is be correct.

NoHonorHokaido 2025-07-20 21:47

Intel Atom when? It's 100% online feature anyway, isn't it?

makingnoise 2025-07-21 22:44

Upvote for "The Money Pit" reference.

maretus 2025-07-21 23:59

I think that’s what makes him a genius. He figured out to completely shift the paradigm in the American automotive industry. He’s obviously fucking awesome at hiring and project management; delegation, and executing plans.

Feeling_Passenger204 2025-07-22 23:37

I live in California and my Tesla is brand new. I just bought it 4 months ago but I haven't received the update yet. Why is that ?

trigrhappy 2025-07-23 03:27

It's rolling out very slowly. I have a HW4 Model S. I haven't received the update either. Keeping perspective is key. How many 2022 model cars are people this excited to receive a software update for? Not many. Most manufacturers simply don't give significant updates to old models in order to pressure people to buy new models. Tesla doesn't do that until hardware necessitates it. I respect that.

Business-Sea 2025-07-24 00:42

HW4 vehicle and still no update :(

Time-Operation-7934 2025-07-24 03:20

Anyone else have the update pulled back? It was downloading, but had stopped when I checked back later. No notification, no version update installed, no more mention of an available update. Said I was up-to-date with the previous version.

someguythatlikesstuf 2025-07-24 13:35

Yes me too (22 Ryzen model 3)

Time-Operation-7934 2025-07-24 15:40

Thanks, wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. Curious as to why.

kkleinnyc 2025-07-29 20:32

Me too, model 3 2023
