Is the member price for those who pay for the subscription on the app

[deleted] | 2025-07-13 21:56 | 155 views

Taking my first road trip in my Mach E soon but want to charge at Tesla stations for speed and accessibility. I was planning on paying for the membership for a month would this get me the 28 Cent option this location on the Tesla website showed upwards to 52 cents for all other EVS but would that not count if I have the membership

Probably a better question in the Mach e sub lol. All of use just plug in and pay whatever the Tesla price is

The answer to your question is yes. If you aren’t subscribed, you pay the adhoc price.

In fact I was confused as to why I don't see this. I remember one day at supercharger someone with a rivian asking if I had the membership, I was really confused.

Free membership with purchase of Tesla 😂

Yes, $12.99 per month to get the member price.

Is it worth?

I think it will be for me for just this month. Ill be traveling 840 miles of highway round trip and my car seems to drain very quick going highway speeds. So im estimating 2 charges both ways. But will likely split it into 3 to avoid range anxiety.

2 charges for 840 miles is not bad at all. I would need 3 charges to go 840 miles. Each charge is about $15 for Tesla owners, or $20 without the membership. So it would be worth it after 3 charges.

First question - yes.

I have a Tesla and a non-Tesla EV that I actually charge at superchargers more often than the Tesla. Do I get member prices on my non-Tesla because I also own a Tesla? Or do I have to pay the subscription for that?

Sleepy417 2025-07-14 11:54

You will need the Tesla app. Make sure to go to the app, in the menu select “charge your other EV” and then select the stall to get member prices.

You need to pay for the membership to get the lower prices on your non-Tesla EV.

Thanks

I took that as 420 miles each way, in which case two charges is normal.

MichaelAuBelanger 2025-07-16 17:13

I think you just have to be a member of the NSDAP to receive the 28 cent option.

Embarrassed_Lawyer_5 2025-07-19 08:50

If you have a non-Tesla, paying for the subscription gets you the same price as a regular Tesla owner. I pay for the subscription for my Bolt, and my pricing is now the same I pay with my Y.

Idk I’m part of the free lol

Tesla charge differ at various rates at various times how this work, you always pay 0.28/kwh or does it vary too.

Virtamancer 2025-07-20 12:40

Depends what you consider a “charge”, the time of day, and battery size. The new Y is about 75kWh. The most common daytime price during a recent cross country trip was ~$0.33 to ~$0.37 per kWh. So a 70% charge (from 10% to 80%, common on road trips) is closer to $20 than it is to $15. In practice, charges had a huge range from <$5 to >$23. But anyways, OP meant 2 charges each way.

I think 35 is the happy spot for EVs. Highway driving = no regenerative braking. If you're going against headwinds, your range drops a bit also. Driving west always drains our battery quicker than driving east.

Beneficial-Plan-291 2025-10-07 07:54

Are you sure? Last week, I was charging at 5 a.m. and spoke with a Tesla owner. I thought I was getting the same rate as them at 27 cents per kWh, but he showed me on his car's screen that he was only paying 11 cents. If this is the case, I don't think it's fair to pay for a membership and not receive the same pricing as Tesla owners.

Embarrassed_Lawyer_5 2025-10-07 15:29

From what I could tell, yes. I verified a few times (3-4 times) and the pricing was the same for the Bolt as I was paying for my Y. Unfortunately, they don't show the discount very clearly.
