Waymo says 3500 vehicles by 2026.  I'd like to see Tesla hit the same mark.  Glad to hear the paperwork for expansion is moving along in the already established robotaxi markets.  This will continue to provide a good barometer for the success of the program as compared to the other players in the space.

They basically get to “ride on the coattails” of Waymo doing all the legal and regulatory grunt-work to get some cities to this point. If Tesla can breeze through the first 3-4 cities within a few weeks or a month each time, it’ll really show they can scale more rapidly than Waymo.

Why does Tucson not get love from autonomous cars?!

This what Tesla should really do, operate in cites where there’s zero competition. Albeit I guess it doesn’t matter if they can actually scale rapidly. I just hope they come to my city soon, which has no autonomous vehicles besides lorrys.

FutureAZA 2025-07-11 05:36

Not sure how long that job would last.

Just in case you're serious, https://www.tesla.com/careers/search/job/data-collection-supervisor-autopilot-night-shift-245321 I think "data collection supervisor" is their technical term for the safety passenger.

Where is your city?

Interesting little detail >This role requires the flexibility of traveling to domestic or international destinations as necessary.

Fort Worth. Maybe being in Texas gives me better odds.

Cause Tucson roads suck. It's all cross streets and lots of unprotected lefts. 2 things that autonomous vehicles hate.
