MIA: - Park / Unpark - 3x context length - 3x model size
Hopefully they fix FSD. The last update was garbage and I've been using the Autopilot more.
What about disabling drivers door auto-open at home on the MX (legacy only?)?! That’s been broken for *months* 🤦♂️
what are the 3x context and model size supposed to do anyways?
The bottom two on your list are FSD updates, not car software updates The first can be considered either, but that will take more time - it’s definitely not ready yet haha
Edit: misread — they’re supposed to improve FSD performance Context length, specifically, should enable the vehicle to better understand what it / other vehicles have been doing up until <now>, thereby improving it’s understanding of what the appropriate control action should be
So many good videos missed in my Cybertruck because that camera wasn’t part of dash cam.
Really wish they wouldn't tie parking to fsd.
HW3 or 4? I’m on HW3 and havnt noticed any shitty updated to FSD since January
Tie everything to FSD and that sells more licenses
I understand I can’t view the B pillar camera through the screen, but does the B pillar not even save to the USB? Has it traditionally been for FSD use only? Because accessing the B pillar cameras on the screen/saving to USB would be huge. A large amount of action occurs in that range of view.
I’m on HW3 12.6, and it’s the best it’s ever been, by far.
When’s the update?
Is there a way for tesla to avoid HOV lanes when I’m driving solo without me needing to change settings each time?
I’ve been using FSD since 10.8.2. On 12.6.4 now it’s the best it’s ever been, by far. I don’t understand why some people have such a garbage experience with particular versions. Have you recalibrated cameras? I’ve never had to do that, but some people have reported it helps.
When's it rolling out?
I'm over here wanting FSD to stay in HOV lanes. 🤣
Oh, I guess I'm validated. I thought it was just mine
Finally. "Accessory Power Option Enables 12V Sockets Tesla is finally re-enabling 12V accessory power sockets throughout its cars with a new “Accessory Power” option, enabling anyone to use the 12V power sockets in Tesla’s vehicle lineup when they’re away from their vehicle, without needing Camp Mode."
this also, but if i’m not carpooling, it still goes in. How do I fix that?
SPRING
Or agree to switch out or into HOV. It doesn’t always like to cross the solid white line (in my state HOV has a solid line separating from the other lanes)
How is unpark not ready yet? Actually Smart Summon (ASS) will back out of parking spots, even on HW3!
+1, so annoying…
Boingg
I’m in the southern hemisphere, when’s it rolling out?
S P R I N G
Great news. But I feel sorry for people who specifically bought fridges for trips/camping, received the update which disabled the 12V, then either had their investment wasted, or paid more for a 3rd party battery, only to find the feature reenabled and their investment on the battery wasted! Tesla could have done a better job of communicating their intentions to customers.
So between September and November? They’re announcing it a bit early aren’t they?
[removed]
There are literal occupancy sensors in these cars, I don’t understand why they don’t make it automatic…
Minimize lane change would be nice too
>does the B pillar not even save to the USB? Has it traditionally been for FSD use only? Correct. I'm amazed it's taken them this long to add this functionality.
I hope B Pillar Recording isn't just for the newer versions of the models. I've been waiting ages for it. Edit after reading: looks like I may be disappointed, but I'm happy for you new folk...
FSD doesn’t even obey the HOV setting. I have it off, but it still tries to get in HOV lanes sometimes.
I just wish it could avoid gravel roads and phantoms on the highway for me.
How about include dumb summon. Like let us ride my car 5' forward in case some a****** parks right next to me. I don't need ASS. Just let me move the car a little bit. Like just the tip.
A quick toggle would be nice.
I took it out of the hurry setting and it stopped trying to go to the far left lane.
Spring
Turn up the volume
I want an option to be able to turn its headlights when returning home. I have a gym setup in my garage and the headlights are blinding in the mirrors and it gets annoying turning them off every time
Man I really wish they would make a paid upgrade path available to cars with the intel infotainment computer
Did they announce a release window?
Here’s my wishlist 1. Fix home link. I’m so sick of it being dangerous and broken 2. when you go into reverse and the reverse cameras come up, there should be a button between the repeater cam views that says “Tilt mirror”. This is especially essential when in tow mode and backing a trailer. 3. Bring back the cancel lane change button, or some kind of quick choice stay in lane, or “No hov” button. I shouldn’t have to fight to stay out of hov lanes for 50 miles. 4. Pull though superchargers intended for towing vehicles should refuse to charge vehicles unless a) the car is in tow mode and detects an active connection to a trailer harness, or b) all other superchargers are in use at the time you start your charge. 5. Please make the YouTube music app behave more like the mobile version. If I can have lyrics for Caraoke, I should be able to have them in YT music. I wished for a YT music app for so long, and I literally never use it because its trash.
S P R I N G
Yeah I had someone steal a wheel cover from mine and you could totally tell what was happening just couldn’t actually see it because they ducked around the front camera. This is a much needed fix.
Federal law allows EVs to stay in HOV lanes even without passengers. It expires on September 30 2025 though. All states are supposed to implement it in their own way. We get special alternative fuel plates that give EVs access here in AZ.
Thanks.
Before June 20th
Why does FSD change lanes every 10 minutes for no good reason?
Apparently (according to green) the older cars have a very small (100mb) ethernet connection so they can't handle more feeds.
Weird, FSD has been flawless for me. Like, can’t find an issue.
Got mine yesterday. I don’t know how they normally do mass rollouts, but I opt in for the new stuff and so far so good.
Not quite: the federal law allows states to exempt low-emission and energy-efficient vehicles from HOV lane requirements, but doesn't require them to implement these.
To note for wish #5 I have been accessing my Apple Music through the browser. It’s also a terrible port in. Browser also allows me to provide lyrics on screen. YT should support in the same fashion. Just doesn’t play video portion while in drive , but audio still works.
I’m on hw3. I turned off fsd and went back to autosteer. I’ll turn it back on when minimize lane changes comes back. City driving is great, though
I think the issue is USB 2 instead of USB 3?
I don’t think you did
Actually in an accident the B Pillar is saved internally. It's part of the crash report from Tesla. B Pillar wasn't supported because the MCU does the recording, but the camera is linked to the FSD computer. The data link is only 100 Mbps between the two so 4 high res streams was pushing it. HW4 is 1 Gbps. I assume B Pillar is a HW4 only feature.
Solid disagree. 12.6 is a step forward over v11 in some respects, and a step backwards on others. I like that it is safer. But Hurry profile drives like an asshole (left lane camp, pass traffic on the right). Standard profile is completely incapable of holding a constant speed on the highway. One moment you're going 70 and the next you notice cars are passing you and look over and it's going 64 mph for no reason at all. I want Hurry with minimal lane change setting back.
Ok, so it's not a new feature just a random bug? I drove solo one way picked someone up and it used hov on the way back. I thought they added occupancy detection. Although, that detection will register for very light loads. Like if you put a backpack or purse it'll think it's a person.
If you're on hardware 3 you're probably never getting any of that.
I'm already in the HOV lane and there's an HOV offramp/connector to the next freeway coming right up. Instead of taking that offramp, FSD tries to cut across 4 lanes of traffic while trying to take the regular non-HOV offramp. To date, FSD has only taken the HOV offramp just once. The rest of the time, I had to manually intervene.
Nice update! Anything coming to legacy MX vehicles at all? Probably not right?
I don't think there's anything there relevant to a 2022 M3, except for automatic connection to a WiFi hotspot. I'm pretty excited for that - little QOL improvements can make a lot of difference!
Yeah, like why send out the update that disabled the 12v prior to this update announcement at all?
Agreed on the YTM. At least they are adding a What's Next now.... hopefully more to come
For me, the best feature is the fix for the Apple Music playlist shuffle feature. Ever since Apple Music was announced, I was looking forward to not having to do crazy USB drive syncing and/or playback juggling on the phone for bluetooth playback. But as you can imagine I was pretty disappointed when it turned out my main playlist was completely useless. It contains 12.9 days of music and which I always listen to while programming and would want to listen to while driving. My previous experience with Tesla updates (features get added but never fixed) did not make me particularly optimistic about getting a fix and yet, here we are. This is one of the most exciting updates I have seen so far for me personally.
Should be possible with occupancy detection via seat sensor or cabin camera. I was wondering if they were already doing this since I have taken the same road many times, FSD always stayed out of HOV lanes, then the one time I had 3 passengers it used the 3-passenger HOV lane. Only time it has done that.
I think one often overlooked factor in FSD performance is how clean people keep their cameras and windshield. It's hard to quantify exactly how much it affects performance (and I’m not dismissing legitimate complaints), but in my experience, the only consistent issues I encounter with FSD happen when the cameras or windshield are dirty. Accumulated oil, grime, or even dust over a few weeks can noticeably degrade the clarity of the front-facing cameras. That degradation can lower the system’s confidence in what it's seeing and evaluating, which could translate to less reliable behavior.[ This is actually something they're working](https://x.com/SawyerMerritt/status/1879925742513082372).
Agreed - the profiles are awful. Standard doesn’t maintain set speed that goes with traffic, Hurry switches me out of the lane I’m turning from in 0.5 miles.
Re: location based trunk lift gate height is it already enabled for the Juniper Model Y? The post seems to imply that it is?
If you use Apple Music (Tesla app), does it still record the listen counts in the Apple iOS Music app? For example, will the songs you listen to in your car count towards your monthly/annual replays, and the “Heavy Rotation Mix”.
Glad to see all the love for the legacy S / X ….
Shhhh...we don't talk about the blind spots. /s SENTRY SEES ALL!
The whole point of the hurry profile is to be aggressive and quick. If you don't like the hurry profile then use the one below it which drives more conservatively.
Are you in hurry mode? Or reduce your max speed?
What's the version number of your spring update? 25.8.x is not a spring update. I'm guessing it will be 2025.16.x or later (where the 2nd number could be 16 or higher). This week is the 16th week of the year.
I'm not 100% sure, mostly because of the unreliable access to large playlists, but from what I have seen with smaller lists, it seems to update the play counts. That's a server-side thing anyways
As someone who both keeps their car garage kept and very clean AND who thinks 12.6.4 is pure magic, I'll support this theory with my model x and recently degraded FSD behavior. I fully believe it's because it's been raining here lately and the car is dirty. That's been my hypothesis, as it has been a LITTLE less polished than usual. A LITTLE more wacky on lane change confidence.
Older as in Intel?
Thought you could pay for the new MCU?
Bummer, still no overhaul to Messages. Hard to believe after all of these years, it still doesn't even properly support groups. :-(
Does it just not shuffle the list right or not even work right if you play it in order?
It’s probably on a long list of things they want to implement
Thanks for confirming. I am using a AM too, but I just got my car so I haven’t been able to confirm yet. One would think it’s a server setting, but in the past the play count between AM on Mac and iOS was disconnected, and people complained of similar issues with the Tesla app. But hopefully it works! :)
Where I live evs are allowed in HOV with one occupent.
I get you, but hurry does stupid shit. I drive home on a 2 lane each direction interstate. I set it to 80 mph. Occasionally a semi truck will pull in the left lane to pass other semi trucks at 68 mph. This generates a line of traffic. More than once rather than wait on the left lane, Hurry notices the right lane is "empty" and attempts to lane change into it to pass all the traffic (which isn't possible since there's a semi truck blocking it being passed). And I already said Standard profile is the dumbest thing ever since it won't drive at a constant speed like cruise control should. It will slow down when going up or down hills for no reason.
Shouldnt intel computers still get the majority of new features except a select few?
[removed]
Yeah I'm confused about this. My 2023 Y is 16V for whatever reason. Is that changing now?
it shuffles only within the songs on the first result page, failing to play all other songs on any other page. This is bad a) because the selection of songs is limited and b) because the user experience is super jarring with dozens of playback errors before finally managing to play one of the tracks on the first page.
Yes
Would be great if they gave the option for single click TACC and double click Autopilot on the new Model Y. Just test driving one now and it’s such a regression from my current Y (and even the highland 3 which has the click/double click option)
16v should be well within the operating range of well made "12v" appliances. Most compressor fridges are set up to be 12/24v. I believe that my Domestic is good to 32v. In any case, I routinely operate it at 16.8v.
I've experimented a bit with this. Driving in FSD during a light rain, I turned off the wipers. As the droplets accumulated, the visualization showed a better understanding of the surrounding driving environment than I could muster. I tried this several times and always chickened out before the FSD complained. I'm presuming that it will eventually complain or force a wipe.
We will be able to avoid highways? God bless I love that. I hate driving wround in LA and it constantly wants me to take the freeway for less than a mile
What about the count of seatbelt in use
Which off ramp does navigation suggest/show on the map? Is navigation saying “exit on the right in 0.5 miles”? It’s always going to use the one that the navigation map suggests. That’s a failure of navigation’s route planning, probably, not FSD failing to follow the route. Would require a new feature for navigation to consider those HOV exits.
Let's be realistic, legacy Teslas get WAAAAAY more love than any other legacy vehicle of any other manufacturer.
Are you muting it or are you scrolling the volume wheel to turn the volume down to zero?
Oh without a doubt! Still doesn’t make me feel jelly!
Good for you?
[deleted]
I'm in Northern California. In the past week, I've had FSD try to change lanes out of the HOV lane across double-white lines which you're not supposed to cross. Worse, this happened during an enforcement day when the highway patrol was out in force cracking down on lane misuse, so it could have caused me to get pulled over and ticketed.
Fair, fair.
Well, where I live they aren’t.
I've all but abandoned FSD since the introduction of profiles. I can't understand how/why Standard chooses the speeds it does. The variability even in relatively low traffic situations is irritating. Hurry drives like a jerk. I'm not in a hurry... I just want to go 70 in this 65 zone.
That's an interesting take - where are you? In Canada (or at least Ontario) every HOV lane makes exceptions for green vehicles.
Well from my point of view, the Jedi are evil.
Yep! Now if only it streamed better quality than 118kbps…
>I assume B Pillar is a HW4 only feature. Unfortunately, probably true.
I want to FORCE highways. Too often it takes me down country roads in the UK.
Very informative thank you
How about an option that doesn't change my fucking wipers to "automatic" every time I enable any form of cruise control/FSD?
I realize that it's a navigation issue. FSD correctly follows the right side exit, but there's a "use HOV lanes" option in the nav settings but it seems to ignore it when routing.
Man I hate when the car does this. I'll cancel out of FSD, move it back to the fast lane, turn it back on, does it again. Also, is it just me or is the blinker activity in FSD WAY to conservative? Gross overuse of the blinker. Like coming to a turn that can only go right...no forward or left option. One of many examples.
Yes for sure. My daughter’s car was in the shop so I drove her to school for a week. My Apple Music app on my phone is now suggesting her very specific genre to me and her songs are coming up in my Heavy Rotation mix.
I'd pay money to be able to stay in the HOV lanes. Obviously my region allows for EVs in HOV. I miss the minimal lane change button.
Oh great! I literally bought a fridge like a week before this change and was miffed I don't get cold drinks any more. I have a little 200Wh battery but that's not really big enough to power it for any length of time.
Chill mode despite having "minimal lane changes" in the description also changes lanes a ridiculous amount. I'd actually pay for 10 minutes. This is on the stock settings. I could adjust the automatic speed down to 0% (vs the stock 40%) but now I'd be going slower than everyone else since the default on highways seems to be 10-20 over.
How are we defining best? I love how FSD physically drives (there's been times where I haven't had to touch the wheel from parking lot to parking lot) but at the same time it drives like a maniac even in chill mode. It shouldn't be changing lanes and cutting off semi trucks as much as it does. It can't pick a lane. I've been intervening to stay in my lane vs from a safety point of view.
Yeah, mine does this all of the time with my iPhone. I think it’s cause I normally have the sound off when using the phone regularly. It’s super annoying though and I don’t realize until too late.
its the only way anybody would pay for FSD. summon and autopark are the only two actually useful features. fsd itself is just a dumb toy for youtubers to make content about. $100/month for summon and autopark comes out to $3600 per lease, which is about how much porsche or bmw charge you for their advanced park assist and premium package option.
HOV Setting has been broken for yeaaaaaaars.
When did it ever pick lanes correctly? That’s the best it’s ever been too. I agree lane changes are the thing I intervene for most, but I’ve yet to need to do so for safety on this build. Define “maniac”—most people are complaining its speed is too chill.
It didn't, which is why I almost always set "minimal lane changes" to be active. > Define “maniac”—most people are complaining its speed is too chill. Even on chill mode when following a vehicle it actively tries to move around and ahead of them at well over the speed limit. 30% is set, but it's not like the car in front of me isn't doing 10% over anyways. Based on the wording, the buffer is meant for acceleration up to X% when doing things like lane changes, not maintaining X% above the speed limit at all times.

How do I post a new thread on Tesla motors ?
Technically they do - new car (sorry for the bad joke)
Can I just get an option to turn off automatic lane changes please?
I've used FSD for approximately 8,000 miles. I use it every single drive. I would have a very difficult time considering buying another car that doesn't have FSD. Some toy.
I believe dumb summons uses AI features from FSD to detect obstacles, pedestrians, or animals when using dumb summon. It won’t run over a pedestrian.
Unfortunate place to cost save when the vehicles are so technology based.
[deleted]
This annoys the shit out of me. I especially on street driving.
S/X blind spot camera where it should have been from the beginning. What a glorious update!
I wonder if there were too many failed 12v issues so they disabled it. So now there's a patch that it will disable itself before the 12/16v gets so low your car is bricked.
Yeah I think you're pulling back the curtain a little. There's an interesting balance between what the cameras actually see and what the neural network predicts (based on its training). In a sense, the system doesn't just rely on raw visual clarity, it also draws from patterns it's learned to decide what's likely in the scene, even when parts of the input are obscured, be it droplets or whatever. It's kinda similar to how large language models can still generate coherent responses even with partial or ambiguous prompts. That might explain why your visualization maintained or even improved clarity, despite losing visibility. The model is fills in gaps based on what's available and prediction.
Yeah this is where I come from too and why I wanted to mention it. I keep my car pretty clean too, especially the windshield and cameras. When dust and dirt (even mild) start to accumulate, it behaves worse in incredibly nuanced ways. It's just hard to quantify or accurately describe, but you can feel it. Things like losing confidence with lane changes, or unprotected turns, or being "jerky" with sharp turns, or a little less smooth when following and breaking. It all really adds up to making the whole thing feel way less polished and capable.
Really dumb take. 99% of my driving is with FSD now. It regularly drives me through multiple states and cities without missing a beat.
I have used FSD on nearly every drive I’ve done for the past year or two. I used it quite a bit, but not always, the two or three years before that after I got in on the first wave of safety score beta admits. I also never had an issue with just taking over whenever and never tried to push the system. But It is honestly pretty insane how much it has improved and it has been very close to perfect on nearly every drive I’ve done on the v13 releases: drives around my suburb, into downtown LA, into LAX, drives to and from SF, in heavy and light traffic, it handles it all quite well. Still have the occasional take over, but a lot of those have been mistakes on my part when I didn’t realize the nav routed a different path than the one I was expecting. There have been a couple of safety related disengages where I wasn’t sure if the car was going to try to make an unprotected turn with an oncoming car or if it was just really nosing out so I hit the brakes just for my own reassurance, but those have been very few and far between. I have used summon and auto park not at all except to play with once in a while.
I wonder if the "Trunk height based on location" will default to max height UNLESS it's set to a lower height at that location? I have it set somewhat lower at home in my garage, but when I'm almost anywhere else, I want max height so I don't keep hitting my head on the trunk latch!
Where do I find more details?
Click the link?
I see you got a lot of replies, am I confused with the “avoid HOV” option. Same page as “avoid tolls” or does the FSD not follow that page
I believe it does need FSD to use dumb summon. I would like to see it included with just maybe premier. I don't want to drive the car any distance just move it maybe 15 or 20 ft in case somebody parks too close. That's all.
My FSD keeps wanting to get into the toll exits/entry while on HOV lanes. annoying AF
Looks like this is all irrelevant on my 2020 SR+. 5 year old car already out of date 🫤
Who says/confirms that?
Anybody here on legacy S/X can confirm what’s updated for them?

And you are..?
I have summon on my 2018 M3 cause it has the Enhanced Autopilot package.
Bro are you serious? It’s ApeSleep 🦍
Ah yeah, my bad. Duh. I glossed over his username.
Full Apple playlist made my day lol

Had those for about a year here (not US).
Just gimme back my "minimize lane changes" button plz.
There is an option in the NAV tool mot Autopilot. I was confused myself. After setting your destination you can use the options for the Nav
