What brought me to Tesla was the Supercharger network; software updates will keep me; Elon drives me away.

Musk needs to step down and leave Tesla

The software updates is what I don’t get.. Audi e-Tron is twice the price and the software updates are meh at best (a friend has one). The legacy car companies just don’t seem to either care or be able to get it right. Build quality and material wise the Audi is great, but software wise it’s very meh.

That’s the experience I’ve had with other brands too. They don’t seem to get that the hardware that runs the software is increasingly more important. Tesla seems to be the only manufacturer that understands this and puts decent hardware behind it and supplements with constant software updates.

Same with Volkswagen. Mine finally support OTA updates now, but all it’s done is fixed issues that should have been fixed before production anyway. Do miss that from the Tesla I had before.

I gotta say I really fucking hate people who go "I used to be pro EV but not anymore because Elon". Fucking fake environmentalists. If you were a true environmentalist you wouldn't let your dislike of one guy distract you from saving millions or even billions of people from dying due to climate disasters someday. Wtf is wrong with people, I hate these fakers acting like they're environmentalists when they're really just virtue signalers who will flip whichever way the wind blows on a moment's notice. Tesla is 55% of EVs in the US. If you are anti Tesla, you are anti most EVs and not an environmentalist. We don't have time to waste playing games

Tesla is like the iPhone - just works smoothly. Trying to update legacy manufacturers is like pulling teeth. BMW has a decent process but still nowhere near intuitive as Tesla.

Nobody is saying they are now anti EV because of Elon if they were pro EV before, would just recommend other EV options. The EV part isn’t the problem.

The fact that the car is BETTER than what it was when you bought it because of software updates is amazing. No other car brand is going to add features without you buying a new model year.

This is what my local tesla facebook group sounds like now, with this "you're either with us or against us" mentality. I bought a tesla because the community finally grew out of some of these things and now it's worse than ever.

The software is what really pushed us to trade it in. Phantom breaking every time I put on cruise control had me hovering my foot over the accelerator, which made it kind of pointless.

Has the phantom breaking been fixed? If not I fail to see how it "works smoothly". We traded ours in for an Equinox and while yes, there were like two things we needed to click to enable the Tesla supercharger network as a charger system to include, the car still does everything the Tesla did (except brake for no reason whenever cruise was enabled), including navigating to charging stations as needed when on longer drives. Plus, it can power my house in an outage.

No. As a shareholder, definitely no. If he goes, I'm selling ASAP. Musk is always one step of the game when it comes to what the entire industry is heading towards. Putting aside Tesla/SpaceX, he co-founded Paypal because he knew money was going digital, and sadly left that place. He even co-founded OpenAI/ChatGPT in 2015 and created Grok which is almost world-leading in an incredibly short time. You may not like his politics, but he's got his finger on the pulse.

Except for that time the remotely disabled auto park and other features on my car because they decided they don't like non-vision sensors anymore. Elon's role at Tesla is done. He's not contributing usefully now, and is actively sabotaging Tesla's ability to deliver by driving away talent. Keep your shares. Definitely do.

I remember hearing such pessimism over a decade ago when Tesla was around a hundredth of its current market cap, even in this sub. (Yes I've been here that long). It was proven unfounded, and I strongly suspect it will again prove unfounded. Elon's staying, that much is sure. If you think TSLA will flounder and you're that confident, then do the opposite of me and short the stock (you won't).

Sure and what charging network are you going to use? Purposely avoiding the best one because of Elon would be really dumb. I also see people switching to VW Group cars which literally came from Adolf himself. People are dumb for getting worse things for some political statement.

That's all solved with free ota updates now. Also FSD had eliminated that long ago. Abandoning the best software and charging network is a blunder.

Haha couldn't afford the subscription and it's my problem. Both of my Teslas have FSD and it's amazing. My HW4 car will FSD from parked, back out, and drive you wherever. And you're worried about phantom braking lol. What did you get instead? A Kia?

I strongly agree with you. But I just think he should be running politics on the down side of things since he is impacting the brand. I did hear that he will leave by end of the month which if true is good so he can focus more on the companies.

Buddy i use it every single day and have for years. It’s lifechangingly good. When i first used it over 6 years ago, it was great at the time. Where it is today? It’s ridiculously phenominal.
