I noticed that as well. I see this as confirmation that the initial Robotaxi will be the S3XY lineup used as robocabs, as opposed to the proper Cybercab.

NICE!!! Red hot Tesla. Definitely a nice car to be in. Hoping one day can afford

[deleted] 2025-03-12 01:21

Why? Didn’t Biden do the same thing with a F 150 lightning

Not really but at this point the argument is down to opinion

§ 2635.702 - Use of Public Office for Private Gain • Prohibits federal employees from using their position to endorse or promote private businesses. • § 2635.101 - Principles of Ethical Conduct • States that public office should not be used for private gain. Plus the Domestic Emoluments Clause. But go ahead. Go off, Queen.

Made in America by Americans for Americans. Nothing else matters. Remember when Biden hosted a EV fair & Tesla wasn’t invited. Now everybody is even

Cybercab *full production*, aka volume production. It is already being made at Giga Texas.

madtowntripper 2025-03-12 03:56

Right? Holy shit, lol. **Nothing Else Matters**

EdCenter 2025-03-12 05:17

That makes sense.. I've seen video of the cybercab I guess for the Austin test run this summer.

EdCenter 2025-03-12 05:20

Cybercab beta promised as a test in Austin this year. I want to say it was announced at the Q4 financial meeting but I don't recall exactly.

What a clusterfuck tesla has become. I want the new Y but if that’s going to be running around as a taxi, I have to rethink it. That would greatly decrease the desires to own one. Pay 50k for a car that’s also a taxi… Teslas were cool when they were rare. Now every other car I see is a tesla and that cheapens the exclusivity. Now add a taxi image to them. I may still pivot to the R2 or the new bmw x EVs

[deleted] 2025-03-12 12:45

Wait, didn’t Biden have a jeep on the White House lawn? To show off.

Errand_Wolfe_ 2025-03-12 13:30

This is an....interesting take. Any car is a taxi these days with Uber/Lyft

[deleted] 2025-03-12 14:25

So go buy an exotic if your fragile ego needs a rare car to feel important.

shaggy99 2025-03-12 16:32

I know they are building them at Austin, because some of them with that displayed on them have been seen, but did they say "Full" or "Volume" production? For all I know they're being made in that bottom corner of the multi level car park.

shaggy99 2025-03-12 16:34

That's a very American attitude.

EdCenter 2025-03-12 16:36

Ah I see, thanks! Maybe I heard "Robotaxi" and assumed Cybercab (I did watch the Q4 financial because I invest in TSLA heavily).

No issues here. I like what I like and you like what you like. Isn’t that great?

2CommaNoob 2025-03-13 01:35

Hurt your feelings much by calling Tesla a taxi? 😂 they will be

InvasionOfScipio 2025-03-13 15:37

1) Biden visited *multiple* OEMs to show case their EV technology 2) He visited Union backed companies to support his “Union Stance” 3) Not a single person in his cabinet or on the governments payroll were an executive for those companies and directly benefited as both an government employee and a shareholder. Checkmate.

Grosssen 2025-03-13 23:12

Saying ”You should buy an EV” is not quite the same as saying ”Refusing to buy this specific brand of EV is illegal”, is it?

It's all computer!

UnluckyLingonberry63 2025-03-15 16:11

exact quote, does not say anything about testing. unsupervised full self-driving as a paid service. Even if it is a different model he claims no driver. No way this will happen. Has anyone seen a test car yet in Austin with no driver??? So, we're going to be launching unsupervised full self-driving as a paid service in Austin in June. So, I talked to the team. We feel confident in being able to do an initial launch of unsupervised, no one in the car, full self-driving in Austin in June

60% of Tesla's are sold overseas.

iop90 2025-03-17 21:32

I doubt we’ll see the Cybercab before late 2026 at the earliest personally. And I don’t think we’ll see it deployed in significant numbers till 2028.
