I scrolled through the summary—I just want auto shift (beta)!

philupandgo 2025-03-12 02:03

My last two updates were two months apart, so another is due.

Salty_Leather42 2025-03-12 02:26

Still waiting for v13 on hw3 :(

TigerXXVII 2025-03-12 03:59

If it makes you feel better, HW4 eventually won’t be able to run FSD either. If they were confident HW4 could handle the future of FSD, they would be sticking it in the cybercab right now instead of developing AI5

ReticlyPoetic 2025-03-12 05:00

It’s ok. FSD won’t got back to Full SELF Driving until AI8 in 2034 ;).

CaliSummerDream 2025-03-12 06:09

I don’t know about that. HW4 will become obsolete because old hardware naturally gets replaced by new hardware. HW4 is about two years old now. If cybercab gets manufactured later this year, it should use newer hardware. Doesn’t necessarily mean HW4 cannot run FSD.

NotHearingYourShit 2025-03-12 06:16

Cybercab is a concept car used to pump the stock. There will be zero cybercabs in operation in the next year or two aside from limited demos in limited areas on private property. Tesla does not have a driverless product.

Con_Man_Grandpa_Joe 2025-03-12 06:17

Option for minimal lane changes back?

Taylooor 2025-03-12 07:25

Wonder if it will reverse from a parking spot

1988rx7T2 2025-03-12 07:39

They clearly deliver major features quarterly, probably to recognize revenue for financial reasons

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2025-03-12 10:00

I’m wondering if a front bumper camera will be required (which my Highland doesn’t have) for unsupervised.

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2025-03-12 10:02

I would think it would. My Highland will pull backwards out of parking spots and driveway from park.

philupandgo 2025-03-12 11:45

I'm inclined to believe that HW3 will also be adequate, at least for personal use. The negativity that is infecting us isn't necessary.

[deleted] 2025-03-12 15:13

If it's of any condolence, my model 3 with 12.x.x is not far behind my Y with 13.x.x. FSD 13 is a little more confident/assertive, particularly when pulling out from stop signs and so forth, but otherwise they have decent parity between the builds.

CillGuy 2025-03-12 15:49

That's probably never going to happen. HW3 is staying with 12.X while HW4 is going with 13.X. I think they'll stop updates and offer an upgrade before HW3 gets 13.

shaggy99 2025-03-12 16:38

I'm not betting on it yet, but there are promising indications. Ground work on Cortex 2 is underway at Austin.

Taylooor 2025-03-12 17:20

I think they’ve been hesitant up to now because the truck is larger and there’s much less training data available

Much-Current-4301 2025-03-12 20:30

Says the guy who has never driven one.

Choice-Ad6376 2025-03-12 22:49

Why can’t they do start fsd from park with pin enabled.

ArtOfWarfare 2025-03-13 00:34

It’s been in mass production for months. They had 50 of them at the event in October - that’s more than they’ve ever built for a launch event before, nevermind a reveal event. They’re already being shown at stores. I guess they’ll lay out a fuller launch plan in April given the robotaxi service is supposed to start in Austin in June.

ObeseSnake 2025-03-13 10:24

It's available now on the Cybertruck.

p3n9uins 2025-03-13 13:28

Is it? On which software version? I have auto shift from park, but not auto shift (beta)

ObeseSnake 2025-03-13 15:07

Oh you are probably right. It’s only from park right now.

austinalexan 2025-03-13 18:34

I find this feature to not work that well. It takes ages to start backing up.

KaleLate4894 2025-03-20 17:12

How about that recall, parts falling off.
