lol 😂 Less regulations and more people willing to work.

corys00 2025-01-05 01:29

We’ll have Tesla Diner before GTA6

citrixn00b 2025-01-05 01:37

Love how the adjacent apartments get the shaft with the billboard blocking the view. 😂

Radium 2025-01-05 01:41

Cybertrucks will have the cinema advantage at the diner charging slots lol

cadnights 2025-01-05 02:24

Oh yeah, that

edchikel1 2025-01-05 02:38

I bet you it had more to do with regulations than people’s willingness to work.

tigole 2025-01-05 02:51

Are there going to be waiters bringing food and drinks out to your car on roller skates?

whiteknives 2025-01-05 02:57

That’s because Shanghai isn’t in California.

happymeal2 2025-01-05 03:22

I would enjoy seeing Optimus roller skate out with food

yourlocalFSDO 2025-01-05 03:36

So was Giga Austin

throwaway_lv 2025-01-05 04:21

If Elon hates CA so much why build this there?

bungholeSurfer1994 2025-01-05 04:22

Can't wait to see what corners they cut lol.. should be interesting

dwiedenau2 2025-01-05 06:07

Why?

Bakk322 2025-01-05 07:48

Does anyone have the link somewhere else for people without an X account?

[deleted] 2025-01-05 08:16

For real. Been driving by it over a year now. No idea wtf took so long.

ObeseSnake 2025-01-05 11:27

Looks way better than the Shakey's Pizza.

rhelwig7 2025-01-05 11:34

He doesn't hate California, he hates the government there. So many people conflate the two, which of course makes the problem worse.

OlorinDK 2025-01-05 12:02

They will be “self-driving” robots, remote controlled by humans. But seriously, I could honestly see this as a place to launch those robots at some point.

RealDonDenito 2025-01-05 12:24

Tbh, all glass and metal seems not so smart in an ever warming climate. Would have been amazing to have wood used for construction lots, make it look modern and relaxing.

failbaitr 2025-01-05 13:31

Smart choices, its not Elon's best quality the last few years. Not sure what his best quality is atm.

RealDonDenito 2025-01-05 13:32

Overthrowing governments, or at least influencing people to ditch their will for democracy.

failbaitr 2025-01-05 13:39

yeah, If you spell it out like that, I'm still not sure :P

short_bus_genius 2025-01-05 14:39

Half way through, Tesla fired the entire org that was working on this project.

[deleted] 2025-01-05 15:36

Buutt the government is pretty regularly elected by the people of California sooo…if you don’t like the government you pretty much don’t like the people so…why stay.

Humble-Morning-323 2025-01-05 15:39

No government subsides 😆

goodvibezone 2025-01-05 16:24

I've done permitting in Hollywood. It's a nightmare of a shitshow.

edchikel1 2025-01-05 16:27

That’s a government regulation red flag. 🤣🤣

BikebutnotBeast 2025-01-05 18:48

Dude the districts are gerrymandered to hell. Also as a company you don't care about opinions, you care about profits. This is solely a profit related expenditure.

[deleted] 2025-01-05 20:55

Sounds about right.

kabloooie 2025-01-05 21:17

If it were on stilts it could be a building from the Jetsons.

doublespeak5528 2025-01-05 21:22

By encouraging people to vote?

RealDonDenito 2025-01-05 21:58

By encouraging only parts of the population to vote that will then end up voting for parties that literally want to end democracy.

Quin1617 2025-01-05 23:53

We’re pretty much getting everything before GTA 6. If FSD 13 works out we’ll even have level 3/4 autonomy.

hasuuser 2025-01-06 01:19

California is solidly blue. Gerrymandering has nothing to do with it. What are you talking about?

Meepo-007 2025-01-06 02:55

If it was taking that long, they should be fired.

Meepo-007 2025-01-06 02:57

Ok, so he likes the people but dislikes their politics.

achanaikia 2025-01-06 08:05

So it catches on fire in the ever warming climate?

bremidon 2025-01-06 08:59

Oh come on. Did you actually believe the Democrat rhetoric? The election is over. It's time to put away the electioneering.

bhauertso 2025-01-06 18:52

I can't think of anything that is built quickly in California.

[deleted] 2025-01-06 18:58

True, I met the guy who was working on the 405 fwy back in the 90-00, he said they drag out the contract for more money and to give their guys consistent work/paycheck. They said the job coulda been done in 3-6 months, they dragged it for 6 years 😂.

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2025-01-08 12:10

there is a drive-in-movie screen there now. Losing views (of Shakeys pizza parlor parking lot and a shitty Hollywood street, in this example) is a possibility in any apartment that isn't next to a park/beach.

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2025-01-08 12:34

The Alameda County health department weren't elected. They were the government that Musk had the most beef with, as they closed the Tesla plant despite no Federal and State governments requirement to do so.

[deleted] 2025-01-08 14:08

Just guessing but I assume that group was appointed by someone who was elected. Feel free to correct me on that.

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2025-01-09 10:58

I don't know how the system works there, but here the councilors appointment a CEO, who appoints directors, who appoint a HR manager, who hires people. How far do you want to take it? Do you approve of every public servant? If not, you must hate your fellow citizens.

Teslamyeslag 2025-01-09 20:20

Not so fast, this is LA. I bet they need the permits for the door hinges, stainless still that could cause blindness to birds and environmental assessment for the stainless steel used.

Teslamyeslag 2025-01-09 20:20

What’s usually the problem with all this permits? Or is it just that it takes too long?

DrKedorkian 2025-01-10 17:01

See the big dig for more information

DrKedorkian 2025-01-10 17:02

Absolutely everyone has to get a cut

cumballs_johnson 2025-01-11 15:17

Nothing makes a project go faster quite like wiping out a team and needing to find/assign a new one and get them up to speed.

Meepo-007 2025-01-11 16:14

You don’t reward bad performance! You fire them and replace them with good employees. Tolerating bad performance fosters an atmosphere of mediocrity. The project may suffer, but the company will thrive.

cumballs_johnson 2025-01-15 15:30

I hope you're not a parent or manager of any kind.

Meepo-007 2025-01-15 16:00

My wife and I are parents of two amazing and very successful daughters; a nurse and dental hygienist. They’re adults now, and we’re still very close; traveling and spending holidays together. I’m also a departmental IT manager, where I have both a working and personal relationship with my coworkers. I still have social outings with former staff members. Setting goals and high expectations isn’t being mean. It drives success and fosters mutual respect amongst team members. The exception is those that don’t want to put forth the effort, see themselves as perpetual victims, or resent people who are successful. I want to see everyone succeed on their merit not through handouts or a free ride.
