Still not able to get it on my watch. Luckay!

TheRealJewbilly 2024-12-05 23:19

It’s on my watch but can’t do shit because my car hasn’t gotten the update yet.

SpaceCadetHS 2024-12-05 23:20

you gotta be on watchOS 11 or higher

IamStinkyChili 2024-12-05 23:22

that would be it, thank you!

kingmathers313 2024-12-05 23:26

It looks neat but I wish you could assign the buttons manually (eg I use trunk way more than frunk) and would really like to option to open the garage (via Homelink or myQ) from the watch.

[deleted] 2024-12-05 23:28

Are we just going to keep posting this now? There are so many of these shit posts on the watch app. Just comment there...

timffn 2024-12-05 23:50

You also need the holiday update for your car for the watch app to actually do anything.

[deleted] 2024-12-05 23:57

[deleted]

Tarpania 2024-12-06 00:58

You can also add tesla energy complications to faces like power usage, powerwall status etc. no vehicle complications yet though.

lint2015 2024-12-06 01:20

I'm guessing you need the holiday update to be able to pair a watch as a Bluetooth key as I haven't been able to figure out how to do it yet.

stebuu 2024-12-06 02:06

There is one for car energy level which I’m worried about using because i don’t know how much that would poll the car.

Tarpania 2024-12-06 02:24

Weird, I don’t see it! At least not yet. I don’t suspect it would wake the car. The app doesn’t wake the car anymore, nor does the ios widget, so I imagine they would be using the same approach for the watch.

Present_Arachnid_683 2024-12-06 03:01

Yes you do.

Fiv3_Oh 2024-12-06 03:14

It doesn’t. At least not yet. Installed the watch app yesterday and added the vehicle SOC complication. Car still sleeps normally.

whatsthisredditstuff 2024-12-06 03:57

Sweet so FSD stack won’t get this for 9 weeks.

lancehall08 2024-12-06 04:12

Nice blue! I call mines azula. She’s blue (azure), a lighting bender, a baddie, and crazy.

gdubb22 2024-12-06 04:46

Is there any way to rearrange the control icons on the watch? I would prefer to have the trunk on the main screen and not the frunk.

Suitable-Roof2405 2024-12-06 05:01

Same- I tried and don’t see an option

Present-Ad-9598 2024-12-06 05:16

Oh…

lancehall08 2024-12-06 05:17

Avatar fan. It’s the best cartoon in my opinion.

aloha_snackbar22 2024-12-06 05:24

Which Mystique? Romjin-Stamos or Jlaw?

Present-Ad-9598 2024-12-06 05:31

Oh!

Ventrace 2024-12-06 05:42

It is a great show!

MarginallySeaworthy 2024-12-06 05:46

Not as convenient as what you’re asking for, but there’s a trunk option on page two. Just swipe up or scroll to it with the crown.

lazyoats 2024-12-06 07:14

Is there a way to the app to the main watch face instead of going to all apps?

Noujiin 2024-12-06 07:25

I think you need the update on the car for that? It also doesn’t show up for a friend of mine.

[deleted] 2024-12-06 07:27

Is this the official app of Tesla?

Mundane-Swimming-538 2024-12-06 07:29

If I have a garmin will they make an update for all smart watches ?

knapsackMax 2024-12-06 07:31

Does tesla have any plans to release the app for android?

MusicAromatic505 2024-12-06 08:20

Same here...

-Ricky-Stanicky- 2024-12-06 08:24

Why don't we have a Tesla watch?

woalk 2024-12-06 08:39

Probably not more or less than the Home Screen widget, which only polls very very rarely.

matttopotamus 2024-12-06 11:03

Aren’t we on the normal stack now?

Nhonickman 2024-12-06 12:18

I am on 11.2 and still need vehicle update to use it to unlock the car. I can wait for the holiday update, hoping this will do the trick

gdubb22 2024-12-06 13:00

I just know that I am going to hit the frunk button by mistake. The engineers at Tesla are incredible, but someone made a conscious decision to put the frunk button on the Home Screen. 🤣

JohnniNeutron 2024-12-06 13:41

Same. lol.

SabrToothSqrl 2024-12-06 14:09

That was what I named my 2013 S 85!

audioman1999 2024-12-06 14:14

Yes

TopJicama2873 2024-12-06 15:07

Now they need to add the time and a Tesla Face to the Gallery.

No-Nothing-1885 2024-12-06 15:35

Superior Garmin watches when?

[deleted] 2024-12-06 15:54

Finally

Dr_Pippin 2024-12-06 16:30

They're still getting different update branches. My FSD Model 3 is on 2024.44.3.1 and my non-FSD Model 3 is on 2024.33.5.

Dr_Pippin 2024-12-06 16:35

No idea the answer to your question, but curious if you ever remotely open the trunk? The frunk is the only thing I open from the app, never the trunk.

Suitable-Roof2405 2024-12-06 16:43

Yeah that’s funny, frunk must be the least used option when compared to trunk

gdubb22 2024-12-06 16:46

Interesting. I open the trunk from my phone a lot. While walking to car, Groceries, etc.

Dr_Pippin 2024-12-06 16:50

I guess maybe it has to do with vehicle? I have a Model 3 and don't have an auto-opening trunk, so for me "opening the trunk" just means it's unlocked when I get to it and I still have to lift it up - which is no different than pressing the release button as I lift it up.

gdubb22 2024-12-06 16:51

I don't have an automatic opening of trunk either. While walking to the car I press the button on my phone from a little distance.

Dr_Pippin 2024-12-06 17:03

To each their own! I hope Tesla allows moving the buttons around so it can work better for your use.

gdubb22 2024-12-06 17:04

"First world problems"

Cannuli 2024-12-06 17:17

Any idea when the holiday update is coming to Canada? 🇨🇦

lmamakos 2024-12-06 19:02

Try rebooting your watch.

CollectionAutomatic1 2024-12-06 19:15

This… LOL!

TREEholic 2024-12-06 19:31

Tessie app does this and has been great for a while

Skilled626 2024-12-06 20:03

How do you download it

[deleted] 2024-12-06 20:19

I can see it if the frunk was powered and could close. It just seems weird to have frunk and not trunk because you might open it by accident and then have to go out to manually close it.

TheMacAttk 2024-12-06 20:21

Requires WatchOS 11. RIP. I've waited 6 years to upgrade my Series 4 and this might just be a good enough reason to do so...

okwellactually 2024-12-06 20:38

My Series 5 has been humming along fine. No need to upgrade... (until now I guess).

dsan9 2024-12-06 20:44

No Android yet?

gdubb22 2024-12-06 21:31

Exactly! You just have to scroll to the next page of the watch app and trunk is there, but just be careful not to open by accident. Maybe there will be a notification if you press it by accident and it will ask if you are sure.

oldrolex 2024-12-06 21:49

I'd like to know too. It's not on the App Store nor does it show as an available app to install to the watch.

DAC_Returns 2024-12-06 21:52

You can assign a specific data point from within the app to one of the Complications depending on the watch face, which can then be tapped to open the Tesla watch app directly. Available Complications for my watch face: * Home Usage * Powerwall Status * Self-Powered * Solar Generation * Solar Offset * State of Charge For example, I assigned 'State of Charge' to the bottom right complication, which shows a battery meter similar to the watch's battery level complication, except it's for my car. When I tap it, it takes me directly into the main screen of my Tesla watch app.

Scarcity7108 2024-12-06 23:16

I got the update but don't have an 🍎 watch 😂😂

jway5929 2024-12-06 23:42

2024.44.25 is the car update you need for the watch to work. Downloading to my car now, so you should get it soon if you haven't already!

Skilled626 2024-12-06 23:46

Same

UnrealsRS 2024-12-07 00:12

Did you name your car Mystique? Sounds like an Xbox gamertag from 2005🤮🤮

Beneficial_Pound7715 2024-12-07 01:08

Downloaded it in The Netherlands by using a vpn to the VS

sandman585 2024-12-07 03:07

They need better complication options for the car. Most apply to Powerwall or solar. Hopefully an update will add more.

SpaceCadetHS 2024-12-07 03:20

Both of my non FSD cars were on 2024.44.3.1 prior to receiving 2024.44.25.2

RemyLeBeau_UK 2024-12-07 07:39

My Tesla is also named after an X-Man (Surge).

zaxnyd 2024-12-07 08:43

My blue 3 is Korra. My wife’s white X is Appa. YIP YIP!

lohmatij 2024-12-07 08:46

An I unlock my car with it if my phone dies?

Dr_Pippin 2024-12-07 14:06

My non-FSD just got 2024.44.25.2. Waiting on the holiday update for my FSD car now.

ElonLaDoge 2024-12-07 14:25

Is model S 2018 supported?

SparkyInCali 2024-12-07 14:45

If you have myQ just use the myQ app to open it.

QCTLondon 2024-12-07 15:13

Does it function as a key, also?

LoogyHead 2024-12-07 15:17

Well, I’ll maybe able to enjoy this… when my series 3 dies.

RG1_sc 2024-12-07 18:35

With the updates I lost ability to add Tesla complications to my watch face. I also lost the ability to add Tesla widget. It wasn’t working so I deleted the widget and still can’t add one.

RG1_sc 2024-12-07 18:37

Widget is back.

[deleted] 2024-12-07 19:01

Thank you this is literally all I care about

lazyoats 2024-12-07 22:17

Perfect, thank you!

[deleted] 2024-12-08 01:22

How do we get it soon from your car?!?!? Joking, but also: dopey me. It’s not a *specific* watch app, it’s just the standard phone app, that needs to be updated, and is now also available on the watch.

tdiggity 2024-12-08 03:04

Probably in the minority here, but I’m unpairing the key from my watch because I know one day I’m going to forget my phone at home because my watch unlocked the car.

[deleted] 2024-12-08 03:08

[deleted]

jeongkuk 2024-12-08 03:48

Yes it does. You can go in and out of your car without your phone now.

jeongkuk 2024-12-08 03:49

That’s my only concern too. Hopefully they’ll have an option to turn off watch key for driving

tdiggity 2024-12-08 04:04

oh yea, that'd be awesome.

jway5929 2024-12-08 04:18

I can send it to you on floppy disc! And they are releasing the holiday update (in phases like all updates). I just got lucky this year it seems and am in the first wave. Watch app works great as “phone [watch] key” (it prompts you to enable in in the watch app). Only issue is the watch unlocks the car even if it’s not on your wrist (and is locked).

jeongkuk 2024-12-08 04:31

It does, unfortunately. The Tesla app needs to be on and will not open on standby/idle

SnooCupcakes9025 2024-12-08 06:19

I weirdly enough have only the charge level and locking https://preview.redd.it/da3dnlm1ik5e1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2297d9a945faa3ced81f70e0619a27bdf59f68f6

shaktima99 2024-12-08 18:02

Does anyone know what the minimum is requirement is for the phone/ watch?? App is not showing and I’m guessing that’s why. Currently running 17.6.1 phone and 10.6.1 watch. Been avoiding updates to be compatible with lagging CGM software but looks like I may have to choose…

shaktima99 2024-12-08 18:05

Does anyone know what the minimum os is required for the phone and the watch? App is not showing and I’m guessing that’s why. Currently have 17.6.1 phone and 10.6.1 watch. Have been avoiding updates to be compatible with lagging cgm software. To update watch I have to update phone so 🤔

jiml78 2024-12-08 18:11

Has anyone been able to get two watches to connect at the same time? For instance, I can see my phone connected and my watch. However, it seems like my wife's watch and my watch can't be connected at the same time. I only realized it because I paired my watch and I was unable to pair her watch until I turned off bluetooth on my watch.

jkail1011 2024-12-08 18:41

There is also a 3rd party app that is excellent!

Skilled626 2024-12-08 20:07

18.2 https://preview.redd.it/tf40zc9wlo5e1.jpeg?width=1320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fbda0b2f9f23c550b6069d0385dd1c77a199f2f

jojva 2024-12-08 22:27

I'm assuming that's because you can manually open the trunk but not the frunk, and since the watch acts as a Bluetooth key everything is available. But I agree that the trunk option would still be better. 😛

jakestgermain 2024-12-08 23:59

I am having the same problem.

[deleted] 2024-12-09 00:21

>Only issue… just like a phone does? That’s ok.

jway5929 2024-12-09 01:25

Just interesting that tesla is using the typical Apple iPhone behavior and not the typical Apple watch behavior for a watch app. Because of this, I could see how some users (like myself) would expect the watch to stop working as a key when removed from their wrist (like it does for apple home key locks and nearly every other authentication use case - like unlocking a mac/iphone and apple pay). I think thats worth knowing.

[deleted] 2024-12-09 04:10

Yep. Worth noting.

[deleted] 2024-12-09 16:09

Not true. on my Apple watch ultra I just walk up to the car and it opens... Works just like the phone and the app does not need to be open

pickerin 2024-12-09 18:06

LOL, that's literally what I named my Model Y too (in 2021).

Hazza42 2024-12-09 20:58

Legacy model S I assume? I had the same thing until I got the Holiday update and [now I don’t even have locking!](https://i.imgur.com/UUu5yrh.png) Hope it’s just a bug…

VeniceWombat 2024-12-09 21:15

New owner here -- got the watch app and have a M3 running 2024.44.4. App doesn't fully work and says "Vehicle software 2024.44.25+ required." Now I'm no math major, but isn't .4 more than .25??

jeongkuk 2024-12-09 23:13

Strange. Mine doesn’t do that. Do we get that feature for non-Ultra Apple Watches as well?

jaimemiguel 2024-12-10 13:29

How do I create an Apple Watch Complication to unlock my Model 3 or open the frunk or open the watch tesla app? I see the new Tesla app on my watch which has a button to do these items but I can't get to that app from my watch face. Is it possible?

[deleted] 2024-12-10 18:28

Hah, this was my first thought too. It was a nice silent feature of my tesla that I could never forget my phone at home.

Maximum_Storm_9167 2024-12-10 23:50

I sure hope so....it's sick that they only released for apple...

knapsackMax 2024-12-11 03:20

I know! I feel there is a big enough community for android to make it a priority.

[deleted] 2024-12-11 04:30

I’m not sure, I am planning to leave my phone at home from now on.

SnooCupcakes9025 2024-12-11 12:35

Yah

Ok_Independent9085 2024-12-11 16:57

Great thanks

digitalbullet36 2024-12-11 20:28

It’s such a welcomed addition as a key.

Planet-Diver 2024-12-12 07:23

Cool name. I named my Y “The Blackbird”

apollohacked 2024-12-12 16:27

Despite using periods like decimals, version numbers usually just use the period as a separator so you aren't comparing 0.4 and 0.25 but just 4 and 25 and 25 > 4... ( [https://semver.org/](https://semver.org/) as an example )

R1TKnight 2024-12-12 23:56

I do my with Siri

kapeman_ 2024-12-13 16:39

AH! That is my problem to. I'm stuck on 10.x

TheMacAttk 2024-12-13 18:03

Unfortunately these wonderful watches have reached retirement. My battery still makes it through an entire day and despite a few scratches on the display it remains as pleasant an experience as the day I bought it. I’ve shrugged off every update Apple’s made, but the ability to unlock my car without having to make the walk of shame back to the house because I forgot my phone is probably the most enticing argument I’ve heard yet…

kapeman_ 2024-12-13 18:08

I'm with you. It's a convenience, but not a $250 convenience!

My Tesla watch app opens and just shows a spinner. Anyone else ran into this and fixed it? It was showing my old car, recently sold, but now just a spinner and nothing else. Have tried rebooting phone and watch. Tesla iOS app works fine, but Lock Screen widget is also broken 🤔 ✅ holiday update 2024.44.25.2 ✅ Apple Watch series 10 ✅ 2023 Model Y (my new car) ✅ iOS 18.1.1 ✅ watchOS 11.1 ✅ Tesla app v4.39.7

pashdown 2024-12-17 18:45

Model 2020 S with v12 (2024.44.25.2), WatchOS 11.1, Phone iOS 18.2. This is what the Tesla Watch app gives me: https://preview.redd.it/3100y242fg7e1.png?width=396&format=png&auto=webp&s=1cdb47775aa10c9ab66bc0b595160c4719820556 Super useful. What is stupid is that my Tessie Watch app has given me a slew of controls, charge level, temperature, and location for years. Where is the disconnect with Tesla?

money_loo 2024-12-19 19:59

I have this update on my car but the watch only shows battery percentage. I can’t do anything else. Weird.

money_loo 2024-12-19 20:01

Literally every week we go grocery shopping? It’s gotten to the point I just made a shortcut that does it.

money_loo 2024-12-19 20:04

2018 S here with the same problem. Are our models “too old”?

Dr_Pippin 2024-12-20 14:09

gdubb22 and I discussed that. Here's what I said: > I have a Model 3 and don't have an auto-opening trunk, so for me "opening the trunk" just means it's unlocked when I get to it and I still have to lift it up - which is no different than pressing the release button as I lift it up. I still don't see how my trunk being unlocked when I get to it is any different than it being locked. Either way I have to lift up on the trunk, and if it's locked it just means I have to lift in the middle of the trunk so I can press the unlock button while lifting. But I finished my thoughts before with: > To each their own! I hope Tesla allows moving the buttons around so it can work better for your use.

money_loo 2024-12-20 19:51

Oh well it’s different on my Model S, I tap a shortcut button and my trunk opens all the way up, I tap another button and it closes itself. Even better if my hands are full of bags and I use my voice to do it. I pretty much never open the frunk.

Dr_Pippin 2024-12-21 14:08

That makes far more sense, and is what I assumed that's why gdubb22 also used it: > I guess maybe it has to do with vehicle? I have a Model 3 and don't have an auto-opening trunk, so for me "opening the trunk" just means it's unlocked when I get to it and I still have to lift it up - which is no different than pressing the release button as I lift it up. Although he clarified he didn't have an auto-opening trunk, so I still don't see how it's something beneficial for him!

AussieAdam26 2024-12-22 11:52

Still waiting!!

TheRealJewbilly 2024-12-22 16:03

It’s useless anyway. 9/10 times I try to kick on the HVAC to warm the car, it fails. So I end up grabbing my phone anyway.

No-Temperature740 2024-12-22 16:09

Same for me, only shows range. Model X 2017. Tesla told me, that it does not work, when you can't use your phone as a key for your car. They told me model S/X older than 2021. Has everyone the same experience or does it work with older models?

AussieAdam26 2024-12-22 18:34

Oh really?? That’s a o frustrating!

Hazza42 2024-12-22 22:19

Man that sucks, especially when apps like Tessie have fully functioning Apple Watch support. Legacy S and X have been missing out on the vast majority of features for a while now. I’d upgrade to the new S if I could but there is still no RHD version in the UK yet...

OutColds 2025-01-02 03:32

is it for Samsung watches?

mickpop 2025-01-07 18:43

Mine was working great but now it’s requiring card to drive. Anyone else have it stop working?
