HW4 only Right?
I got way too excited this morning thinking I was getting v13 when that notification popped up
It's literally just an update to capture siren audio
Where did you get the notification? On the you phone app, or main car display? I’m still on 12.3.6
Phone app this morning
Thanks! Hopefully I’ll get a notification soon.
AI4 probably just.
Really wish these release notes were a bit more clear. Always restating previous mentions. Just the diffs please
THAT. Please 🙏
According to TeslaFi, yes
What version are UK vehicles on? Presumably not V12? Or do they still run V12 but with features disabled? Considering a used Model X/Y with HW3
UK is like Australia. There is no FSD you only get enhanced Autopilot, even if you have paid for FSD.
That is really old?? You should at least be on [12.5.4.2](http://12.5.4.2) Or did you mean 12.5.6.3?
Yep give us something.. even "bug fixes" would make me feel better.
I already have what is listed in 33.35 FSD [12.5.6.3](http://12.5.6.3)
Sounds like you are on the FSD Branch of software. As an HW3 owner, I'm happy to be on the FSD Branch because the Intel Atom MCU doesn't support a lot of the visual stuff, so I would rather get newer FSD versions.
How much more difficult is it for end to end on highway? Why do they need separate stacks in the first place? I would argue end to end neural network for city streets is much more complicated…
It's one stack now. Before they used the old hand-programmed stack on highways, while the new end-to-end neural network stack was used outside of highways. Now the end-to-end neural network stack is used on all road types. My guess is they delayed the deployment of end-to-end on highways because the greatest benefit is on city streets, and they wanted to make sure it had a very high level of safety before deploying it on high-speed roads.
I’m on 12.3.6 as well. Just took possession of a new M3P on Friday and I have no idea how to update anything.
Double check in the software tab of your car menu that updates are set to set advanced and not the default standard. It won’t be instant but eventually you’ll get a notification on the Tesla phone app if you have it installed or you’ll see an orange clock on your Tesla screen in the upper right corner that you can tap to either install the update immediately or schedule a time for the car to auto install the update when you’re not using it. You must be signed into a WiFi network to download the update.

I have the same question!
The more you use FSD and the more data you share in privacy settings the faster you get updates.
Happy to help. Also keep in mind it’s not just the update but you need to also enable full self driving in the autopilot tab on the Tesla main menu.
Yep, got that, but my question is what software version does it run?
Mine is v12 2024.38.7 in Australia.
How do you know if you have hw3 or hw4
[deleted]
I switched mine to “advanced” three days ago. Nothing has occurred yet. I’m on WiFi and everything …
Well, given the choice between hw4 and hw4, I'd say you probably have hw4.
I don't know if it's still the case, but when I got my car a couple years ago it took a month or so for me to start getting updates, and that was the norm for new vehicles form Tesla.
The factory version still comes with 12.3.6
You have a factory version since you have a brand new car. It can take a couple of weeks and sometimes a month to get your first update. All you can do is just wait until it comes.
You have a brand new vehicle with a factory version of software. It currently comes with v12.3.6 of FSD which didn't yet come with Summon. It can take a couple of weeks to a month before you get your first update. 12.5.x or higher of FSD will have Summon.
That's still the case. They all still have the factory software. All they can do is wait for an update.
Just a note: That particular v12 is simply referring to the user interface version of the software. There's no point in mentioning it since it rarely changes and it's what we all have. 2024.38.7 is the only important part. The FSD version number is listed separately for those that have it. On a different line it would look like Full Self Driving (Supervised) Software 12.5.4.2
Sounds good. Thank you!

I turned on advanced before I left the Tesla dealership (24 M3AWD). Took about 3-4 weeks to get my first update. Since then I’ve gotten a major update almost weekly. If it doesn’t happen I’ll be in the garage checking for signal interference be like where’s my update man…
The amount of data you share in no way affects how fast you get updates. However sharing good quality clearly spoken audio feedback when you disengage FSD might get you invited for early release builds. But Tesla is clear that privacy settings will not affect your updates.
From what I was told when I was looking for a similar answer after I bought mine, the reason is they want to make sure when you purchase your car you get used to it with out significant changes for a little while. You're also on a stable build, in the event there are issues. Could be wrong but that's what I remember being told.
If you have two equal chances of being hw4 I’d say you have hw 4 with 100% certainty
What about the free Autopilot, not the FSD? Is that on old stack still?
Yes. Free Autopilot doesn't even use the old FSD stack that I was referring to. It uses a stack that's several years older than that. It's extremely primitive in comparison.
I don’t have any WiFi’s to connect to, parking is too far from apartment and it doesn’t work on any public WiFi. I tried my phone but it reuses to download anything faster than a few kb/s. Do you have any suggestions lol.
Software / Additional Vehicle Information button.
Any source? I’m speculating so would love to be incorrect.
💯
release notes are apparently a lost art. Sonos is famous for "Bug fixes and performance improvements"
Anyone else notice that trailer mode no longer shows proximity warnings/images in trailer mode after 2024.44.3.1 update? https://preview.redd.it/gy51jhehzf5e1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80a48b1c29e6c7806f701eb7f7471d9ceb22dad9
And just tell us if it's HW4 only or not.
So what the hell is new? I hate these regurgitated “release notes”. I see a slight bump in FSD but nothing else?
Some super charger sites have WiFi the car can use.
Same for me today... What worse is u don't think anyone on this version has moved from it beaded in teslafi
So, my 2018 Model 3 doesn’t have the nice weather overlay on the map, is this an intel limitation?
