Has anyone got 2024.44? Apparently i need this to fix my tire sensor issue
Folks who do not have FSD will likely get 2024.44.x. Folks with FSD are in a holding pattern until 2024.39.10 get further along.

I just got 2024.44.3.1 with FSD 12.5.4.2 two days ago on my 23M3P.
Tire sensor monitor system error. I swapped to my new winter rims with new Tesla Bluetooth sensors, and this error appears. Supplier said the 2024.44 software update will resolve it but I don’t have it yet…
End of the line for HW3?
We haven't even gotten the one *before* this yet.
All that and the thing I’m excited for is folding the mirrors with a physical control. Custom tilt is nice too - I turn it off because I dislike the extreme, if I could set to a mild angle (and sounds like I now can) then I’d leave it enabled.

Yeah I haven’t been paying as much attention lately — we’re actually into FSD 13 releases now?? As in, “unsupervised” FSD? I must have missed it somehow… But I’m on a 2018 M3 so I wasn’t really expecting I’d ever get it anytime soon. Best case scenario I was hoping for was they land on a v13 release that performs amazingly well on HW4 (maybe even true Robotaxi / hop in the back of your own car levels of unsupervised) in terms of intervention rates, and then they try to do their “compression” thing or whatever that was to get it down to HW3 computers and see how it goes.
Yeah. I'm pretty pissed too. My car is less than 2 years old and it's already depreciated.

FSD for the masses will likely still be 2024.44.x at Christmas. Historically the Christmas update is YYYY.44.25, last year FSD 12.4.9 was ik 2023.44.30, so, they've got a month to optimize and tweak it.

Usually software request they won't need you to come in. Tesla should respond through the Tesla app before the appointment.
If yoy have FSD, then yes, you're likely running some version of v12 and when v13 is ready for the general public you'll get it as a normal update. The big question becomes folks who have HW3/Ai3 cars. Those ones have a lesser FSD computer in them, so Tesla need to optimize a bit to get it to work, and there's serious debate on whether that is achievable, without hurting performance.
It's not. There will be compromises, but the improvements to newer models inevitably trickle down to smaller models. If anyone has experimented with Meta's Llama, you can see that the Llama 1's large models are far less competent than Llama 3's tiny models. HW3 will undoubtedly receive updates for years to come, but this is likely where HW3 and HW4 will diverge in more immediate competency.
They say lots of things. From the description & Twitter v13 is about to do end to end, pull out and park. Which means it can do uninterrupted supervised complete drives. If v13 gets to unsupervised that would be great (at least for ai4 cars, I have FSD on hw3 Y).

I can't imagine we'll see any level of unsupervised for several more years. Certainly not "hop in the back seat" (L4) unsupervised. Hopefully in the next couple years they can achieve L3 with some parts of the drive unsupervised.
They said unsupervised will be on the 13 branch. So could be 13.3, could be 13.9, could be 13.9.9999.

Yes. FSD Beta 10.3 had to be rolled back because the car kept having false possitives triggering automatic emergency braking (including on highways) due to the computer not properly coming out of sleep mode. Tesla now includes testing on vehicles just coming out of sleep mode because of this. P.S. The rollback itself had its own issues too, where some cars were rolled back to non-FSD versions of software
So long as you have a subscription, trial or not, of FSD on the vehicle, you'll get the latest FSD versions as they release, *however*, once that trial ends, you'll get pushed to the "core" firmware release, which can involve rolling back your FSD version, which is hard to get back onto the "latest" FSD tracks after that.
The gravestone is from another reddit user, but I do get the sentiment. Tesla has only said that it may not reach unsupervised with HW3, which is not saying the end of support. The level of optimizations that have been done over the last 2 years with models is almost hard to fathom, like transistors occupying gymnasiums to being the size of pinheads. There's 2 billion parameter models today that outperform 400 billion parameter models from a few years ago. These advancements have been exponential, and are continuing to be exponential. Could this be the end of hardware 3? I guess anything is possible, but it certainly doesn't seem so given the rate at which things are advancing.
Do you get actually smart summon on trial? I am on 12.3.6 of FSD and 2024.38.100 at the moment.
Actually Smart Summon is not a part of 12.3.6, I think you need *at least* FSD 12.5.4.x to get Actually Smart Summon.

i ask because recently there was a rolled back update in china for a different company. ~70 cars had self-park accidents in a single day.
Yeah, this was the first version that rolled out to me back when you had to get like 99-100 Safety Score to get in the beta. It was pretty jarring. My car engaged AEB on the highway and just about gave me and my passenger whiplash. It braked so hard and abruptly that if someone had been behind me, it would have 100% caused a rear-end collision.
Note: Does not work on 95% of existing vehicles

What they said was **if HW3 can't do unsupervised FSD**, which means that has to actually happen first. By the time HW3 cars get upgraded, new cars will be on HW5 or 6.
12.6 is incredible on HW4. Had a HW3 loaner for a little bit doing repairs and the difference was night and day.

I foolishly installed it the morning I had to drive 150 miles to a service center for some repair work. Had to drive 3 hours with no autopilot or anything. Not even cruise control. If I enabled it, it would randomly and suddenly jam on the brakes from 70 mph to 40 mph.
I’m play with that. Tesla needs to progress fsd and not be held back by previous hw versions. They’ve already said they will retrofit at some point.

No that's been there for over ten years. My 2014 Model S could do that, and my 1994 BMW. Most cars with memory mirrors can. As OP said, you have to adjust it while in reverse and it'll remember that after you hit Save.
Changing the reverse angle wouldn't save. That's why they added it as a whole new thing in a recent update.

Just going to pile on to the questions you’ve been getting as your info here was the first time I came across something I was looking for (thank you for your posts). Just got a M3P yesterday new and I bought FSD. The car is on 12.3.6 (cries) and says I’m up to date. Am I basically waiting until 2024.44.xx gets pushed to me to get FSD updated?
Yes. When you get a new car it can take up to 45 days to start getting updates, until then you just get the factory firmware. Average wait time is about two weeks though. The FSD version will vary on where we are in relation to things. It *does* look like 12.5.4.2 is "standard" in 2024.44.x at the moment. FSD 13.2 is 2024.39.x, so if you're *behind* 2024.39.x, then you *might* be in line to get 2024.39.x, however, if you're *ahead* of 2024.39.x, then you'll have to wait until v13.2 catches up to whatever the mainline update is, which typically happens about once a quarter.

I went a little more in-depth about the versioning here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaLounge/comments/1gl9etj/current_tesla_firmware_branches/, however, as you can imagine Tesla's versions keep changing, so it's best to view that post as "guidelines" more than anything. Plus, there's no always that many firmwares being worked on at the same time. The Christmas update is *generally* "the great unifier" where Tesla kind of sets everyone to the same version at the same time, but if you have FSD you can be pushed to a newer version pretty quickly afterwards.

Had an accident with this a year ago. Person had known issues week prior with the auto-brake system and lied about it to insurance. Told me about it on scene, and didn't report the other accident to the police/insurance. Tool lied about it to the insurance then for mine and got 100k. Seems like a par for the course for a Tesla owner though. Also... might want to check your brake lights and tail lights. Driving past 7 Tesla this morning, none of them had working brake lights or tail lights. Even at a full dead stop, no warning lights on any of them.
Meanwhile Tesla won't pay shit out for the errors.

I am aware. They have made it easier, with a button, but at least on legacy S/X it has always been possible to do when the car has been put in reverse.
I don't see why they can't get to where Waymo is...unsupervised with teleoperators monitoring.
They probably will with their own fleet, but they’ll never do that with a million customer cars. Waymo has less than 1,000 cars and are doing like 18,000 miles per disengagement.

Yeah but Waymo's 'disengagements' aren't even disengagements. It's often just answering a question about what the car sees. It's still driving autonomously.
I've seen some legitimately impressive videos of 13.2 by the usual suspects (Chuck, Dirty Tesla, etc). WholeMars just tweeted a really really really impressive clip of the car getting itself out of a tricky situation where it was blocked in by a UPS truck. (https://x.com/WholeMarsBlog/status/1865589411355971787). It looks like the car somehow tracks the Waymo (I assume based on the gear on it) car that was oncoming and waited for it to pass before slowly edging out from behind the UPS truck that was double parked. As always though, remember that a highlight reel can't be taken to reflect actual real world performance.
It's increasingly rare in consumer/retail builds as fleet size has grown, and testing/simulation has developed. We are so far down the list that crit/sev0 issues are already bashed the hell out of by those early adopter guinea pigs, feels like retail is increasingly used for en-mass aggregate experiental data than objective functional validation. I think I've only seen one Autopilot/FSD Sev0 in the last half-decade where they actually went back- what feels like a lifetime ago. Typically they roll slow and small, so stopping the rollout seems to always be an option. Usually they pause, analyze, then maybe stop rollout, hot fix, then roll forwards to another HF build. I've no doubt, employee and early-adopter segments are much more likely to see such rollback action.
