For your information once you upgrade, there's no going back to the old horn sound.

I love the customization on Tesla's, but I'm not sure how I feel about this, the horn sounds to me like what an emergency vehicle would use to clear the way and I feel it could create confusion.

Sounds unhealthy...

Dr_Pippin 2024-11-28 01:22

Sounds like an air horn. That’ll get some attention.

Shygar 2024-11-28 01:23

It's super loud! I like it but weird that it's a permanent change.

CillGuy 2024-11-28 01:30

I think it's really cool and a great addition to the cybertruck

KyleCAV 2024-11-28 01:58

Was going to say on another post in r/cybertruck this sounds like an emergency vehicle. I feel this update may get reversed.

lavazzalove 2024-11-28 01:59

Love it. I will use it on all the people I see who are scrolling through their phones while driving.

B1Turb0 2024-11-28 02:03

Love this so much. Waiting for mine to update.

In Canada, there are [regulations](https://diamondlaw.ca/honking-101-the-proper-use-of-car-horns/#:~:text=British%20Columbia:%20Motor%20Vehicle%20Act,a%20loud%20or%20harsh%20sound) province to province surrounding horns on cars and trucks. Manitoba's specifically prohibits "siren-like sounds". Does the new horn sound like a "siren"? What qualifies as a "siren"? I'm not sure, but it just seems like a box Tesla wouldn't want to open. >Manitoba: The Highway Traffic Act >According to section 44(1) of [*The Highway Traffic Act*](https://web2.gov.mb.ca/laws/statutes/archive/h060(2014-04-30)e.php#44), all motor vehicles driven on the road must have a functional horn that can emit an audible sound from a minimum distance of 60 metres. Additionally, vehicles shouldn’t have a siren-like sound, which is primarily used in vehicles for law enforcement.

It’s also super quiet. No one is hearing that with road noise and music going. I hate it.

niceguyjv21 2024-11-28 02:31

Wait a min, this horn is new???? Since I picked up my Cybertruck it's always had this lmao

shellacr 2024-11-28 02:41

Those delivered prior to October have a normal sounding car horn

Boris_art 2024-11-28 02:52

Can you clarify, does the latest update change all Cybertrucks to this horn sound?

bgarza18 2024-11-28 03:03

It sounds like an emergency vehicle, I don’t like that.

MSTK_Burns 2024-11-28 10:30

Sounds like Optimus Prime ate a Semi Truck Horn.

mrandr01d 2024-11-28 11:34

So... Are they just playing that sound through the pws speaker?

Lumpy-Strawberry9138 2024-11-28 14:42

I need this for my MS!

Otto_the_Autopilot 2024-11-28 15:48

It's not a siren, it's a horn. horn: https://youtu.be/cSgHeFIaovs?si=_jZeARvvhb-Y8tB2&t=16 Siren: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxbGMkhrkZM

Go Zack!

HellsNels 2024-11-30 00:54

It’s opt-in. You get a notification in your tesla app inbox if you want to make the change if you have an older cybertruck. It says its permanent though. As I understand it, it will disable the ability to use the physical horn and only play this new sound via the pedestrian warning system instead.

asoto511 2024-12-01 06:59

Since the update mine has no sound. I saw it online the first day but then it disappeared. Maybe everyone’s but mine fixed

[deleted] 2024-12-02 01:04

Not true. Its loud af. Installed it today

[deleted] 2024-12-04 02:29

Well that will come in handy to help the tow truck driver find you.

Talteric 2024-12-04 17:05

No it isn’t. 😅 I took a test video and you can barely hear it.

[deleted] 2024-12-04 19:45

Then yours is broken. Mine is definitely loud.

ace-treadmore 2024-12-04 20:32

This

ace-treadmore 2024-12-04 20:33

Agree and like it

Talteric 2024-12-04 20:50

The upload a video. It sounds the same as everyone else’s.

GENDERFLUIDRAHHH 2025-01-02 21:38

It sounds like the Firetruck horns in Missouri, that’s a problem.
