FINALLY!!!!!!
If you have a buc-ees near you they are worth the trip. So many people stop in just for the food and snacks. Plus its so odd seeing nearly a hundred gas pumps in one place. If you are a beef jerky fan they have many great flavors, the brisket cooked in store is actually pretty good, and the snack wall will have you gaining weight just walking past. Best bit is, no semi trucks are permitted on their lots.
Thank goodness. Can't wait to use them
They could’ve put old 75kw chargers in as no one gets out of a Buc-ee’s before they’re 100% ;)
Do these allow non-Tesla EVs to charge? I know they are able but I’ve read that some Buc-ee’s had arrangements with Mercedes to install chargers so they turned off the charging from the Tesla Superchargers. I believe the one in I-75 in Richmond is set up like this.
I think they're just Tesla chargers, I have to drive by later today so I'll take a quick look. EDIT: They look to be the universal chargers
The only way to get out of a Buc-ee's in under 30 min is to not go inside. : )
I know the one I stopped at near ft Collins had the magic docks on about half the chargers it looked like
Do they allow tattood people to use them?
BUT massive campers work great for blocking 10+ chargers..... at a pop.
All Tesla superchargers are planning to support non-Teslas with either NACS ports or NACS adapters. I've read we will start seeing lots of non-Telsas at Superchargers in January 2025, but I can't find the link. Every major EV maker has said they will start shipping cars with NACS ports so they won't need adapters to use the Tesla supercharger network, but that's for new models or model revisions in 2025. The non-Telsa EVS currently on sale don't have the NACS port and will require an adapter.
I would like to believe that, but I’m telling you there are some specific instances where the property owners where Tesla superchargers are installed have exclusions for non-Tesla vehicles. I don’t really know the details of why or how that came to be and maybe a Tesla tech that’s on this thread can tell us.. just like destination chargers, they can absolutely set their superchargers up to refuse charging for non-Teslas
I've recently seen tesla chargers that had dual ccs/nacs functionality: you could do nacs for tesla, or use the same cable with a ccs adapter on the nacs (from the charger) for ccs cars.
I have an F-150 Lightning and have used it at a ton of Superchargers. Basically if it's a V3 and above, I can use it. This is V4, so it's 100% compatible with other EV's as they open up the network.
