It's using Elon time.

[deleted] 2024-10-19 01:03

Is it a 30 day trial you have until Dec 17 to start? Or yeah, someone can't read a calendar. Could be either

menormedia 2024-10-19 01:04

Already started the trial today. I guess we’ll see 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

MindfulMan1984 2024-10-19 01:21

Maybe it's when the 30 day offer expires.

IamStinkyChili 2024-10-19 02:02

You have a trial to accept from now till december 17th, it will be for 30 days once you accept.

PeterJames1028 2024-10-19 04:11

The car tells you the expiration date on the software screen.

Poles_Pole_Vaults 2024-10-19 04:31

Unfortunately I don’t think you have a choice as to when to start the trial.

My_Man_Tyrone 2024-10-19 06:03

Lucky!!!

Beastgupta 2024-10-19 06:34

wait how can i choose to delay the trial for a few weeks?

iTurkie 2024-10-19 06:55

Maybe maybe stacked the two trials from two months ago and this event one!?

Fun_Marsupial_5380 2024-10-19 08:27

Sweet deal! Enjoy the extra time. Sometimes bugs work out in yer favor.

menormedia 2024-10-19 10:06

I had paid FSD on the S. FSD was transferred to my new M3P last month.

menormedia 2024-10-19 10:06

You can’t once you start the trial.

TheyCallMeKP 2024-10-19 12:51

It asked me, and I just X’d out of it because I wanted to think about it later, and it just started anyway. I got to work and could auto park

I’m not subscribed. As I mentioned in another comment, I transferred FSD to my new M3P from this S.

Quin1617 2024-10-19 14:45

OP literally said in the post that it’s been activated already.

IGNORED34 2024-10-19 14:50

You had paid for a month of FSD and a free trial. So 2 months

menormedia 2024-10-19 14:51

I’m not subscribed. As I mentioned in another comment, I transferred my paid FSD to my new M3P from this S.

420Deez 2024-10-19 16:00

prolly felt bad for ur old ahh car

menormedia 2024-10-19 16:22

Old ≈ Legacy 😅

IamStinkyChili 2024-10-19 16:34

And OP literally said that it will expire in 2 months, which is wrong. OP misread the terms. Like you misread the situation. Reading is hard.

handspin 2024-10-19 17:13

This allowed update to most recent fsd

ElectricalDisaster4 2024-10-19 18:18

Might be a stupid question but I'm not home right now(away for work) and my wife is headed back to check on things. If she drives the car does the 30 days start when she drives or does it start when FSD is enabled? Thanks

sargonas 2024-10-19 18:19

This is wild because this week i got an email telling me my lease is up in “120 days, on December 11th” I assumed it was some kind of automation script one off error, but it sounds like they have a systemic problem with telling time lol.

menormedia 2024-10-19 18:22

It starts when you drive regardless if you enable FSD or not. Your expiration should show either 10/16 or 10/17

menormedia 2024-10-19 18:29

Not the most recent https://preview.redd.it/pu8akvvrarvd1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48c1892c580017a91982a85caf1bfd1501205edc

Quin1617 2024-10-19 18:53

OP didn’t say that, that’s what the car says in the Autopilot section in settings. If the trial expires earlier, Tesla needs to update their wording. So no, I didn’t misread squat, reading is stupid easy.

uNr_ly 2024-10-19 18:59

I had this happen to me last year when the 3 free months rolled out and somehow ended up with 5 months of FSD for free. Just go with it.

kikibuggy 2024-10-19 19:43

Is it a new car? Maybe they’re giving the 30 days on top of the 1 month free trial

menormedia 2024-10-19 19:49

This is a ‘16 S75D. I’ve had it for 4 years. I transferred its FSD to my new M3P last month and have never subscribed to FSD.

menormedia 2024-10-19 19:51

Nice! Yeah I’m just gonna roll with it. It just caught me off guard when it was 2 months out.

kikibuggy 2024-10-19 20:22

Wait so you already have FSD? Then why are you worrying about the trial?

menormedia 2024-10-19 20:24

No, FSD was transferred to my new M3P last month. What I’m saying is that the initial email says “30 days” from the other day, but my expiration date is in 2 months. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying wondering if anyone else has experienced this. https://preview.redd.it/6bka0z88vrvd1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b5a7a34e61971477bd6887e83e2ebc2d646afce

PM_ME_UR_DECOLLETAGE 2024-10-19 23:12

It just enabled on both of my cars without warning. I had to check the AP settings and noticed the options available. Don't know when rhey became enabled.

P0ETAYT0E 2024-10-20 06:29

I like it when it works… tried to pull me into center divider twice so far on my commute home. A bit unnerving

wnmurphy 2024-10-20 17:00

PSA: if you're doing the trial, clean and recalibrate your cameras first. FSD requires additional calibration to Autopilot. This can be the difference between "it's awkward and sucks" and "wow, it's really good." If you already have FSD, you should be doing this after every update. The cameras have slight variance, each FSD version has variance in which features are weighted, and in order to stitch together an accurate world model, recalibration for that version is necessary.

Nhonickman 2024-10-21 16:19

30 days for me

menormedia 2024-10-21 16:33

Nhonickman 2024-10-21 17:10

Congrats

Thankful4USA 2024-10-21 18:31

Smart summon is cool

raygundan 2024-10-21 21:30

Is there any way to fully disable the trial? Last time they did this, even if you went through and turned off FSD and the other extra features, it left some stuff enabled that screwed up the behavior and UI of normal autopilot for the duration of the trial. It looks like the same thing is happening this time. Most annoying one for me is that if I turn on autopilot, normally using the turn signal makes it easy to turn the wheel to merge. But during the trial, it would instead keep the wheel "locked" and try to do an automatic lane change (I thought at first it was just keeping it locked and doing nothing... turns out the automatic lane-change thing is just plain not capable of finding an opening in rush hour traffic and will never merge.) If anybody knows how to fully shut it off, that would be great. I don't want to be stuck with 30 (or 60) days of screwed-up functionality for a trial I don't want again.

menormedia 2024-10-21 22:10

Go to Autopilot and set it to anything other than “FSD”

raygundan 2024-10-22 00:52

Doesn’t fix it. That disables FSD, but the autopilot controls are still screwed up during the trial. I need it gone (or fixed, but it’s Tesla so I’m not holding my breath) since disabling FSD doesn’t disable all the changes the trial makes.

Astronaut_Library 2024-10-25 03:58

You weren’t already subscribed? I am in the middle of a subscription month and it gave me a trial that starts at the end of the paid month.

menormedia 2024-10-25 09:55

FSD was transferred to my new M3P last month and I never subscribed to it on this S.

CapitalJeep1 2024-10-25 10:24

—if it were necessary, you’d figure it would be in the instructions or that the software would complete that process after install.

One-Tax2929 2024-11-19 07:16

I got a free trial October 17th as well, however mine seems to expire November 24th, weird…
