How is the braking going to be smoother? The brake pedal is physically connected to the pads via hydraulics.
Model Y Juniper is brake by wire
ah yeah i see it says new y
Wild updates but none fix the SD in traffic acceleration issue.
Sort of. The brake pedal is still coupled to the mechanical brakes hydraulically. It’s more like a hybrid brake system with a mechanical fall back
"Spotify: tap the new down arrow to jump to the bottom of long playlists and podcast episode lists." Just got my new Model 3 today, which has scrolling and not pages (coming from a 2021 with Atom). And were kinda missing a "to the bottom" button. So this is great news
hw3 upgrade when?
The what?
Is it me or the updates have less interesting features at every code iteration? It's the second update with barely any major feature.
When you buy a new car
I’ll suggest «sudden death» because it sounds ridiculous
Guess they’re saving up for the summer update. Or working on a big rewrite or fixing things under the hood.
At work, we’ve stopped doing non-big updates on one of our applications because we would get complaints that we should be doing more. Now we just hold on to the updates and push them out when we have the big features. People are getting their updates later, but now they don’t complain. It’s sort of silly.
They don’t have time for new stuff cuz they fixing the wipers /s
i guess the car sometimes launches itself off a cliff and can’t recover
Jesus. Christ. When I started doing all my podcasts on Spotify my dumb ass went and added all the ones I like and listen to the most first, because those are the ones that came to mind first. It’s been a pain and this is super helpful.
My thing is as long as the updates are quality! If not I don’t give a shit how often you release stuff. Look at Apple, they release a new major os so fast that for 3/4 the time till the next major release it’s all bug fixes they introduced! Screw that, take time to regression test and release quality….that is what matters! Lol, I’m too old for this buggy shit!
The breaking feature is complete shit. Makes it feel like the break isn’t working
I feel like most people rarely use the physical braking.
We need some climate control automation.
Actually it makes complete sense. Why annoy people with minor updates filled with bugs for incremental improvements. If you think it’s silly, you don’t understand people
You would think that but the only time I do use it is precisely what it’s not designed properly for. At very low speed in a garage to do small starts and stops to inch forward when you switch to the break it just moves forward an extra inch because it’s completely unresponsive. They didn’t design it to adapt correctly to speed
Lol!
Did anyone lock sound sound drastically lower after these past few updates?
Brake* know the difference.
I just want wipers that work only when they’re supposed to.
Such as?
Theyre probably just updating grokand bundling it up like a broader update more often than not
Someone posted about that earlier and the answer was that they adjusted the volume of the .wav file itself. So if your using a custom lock sound, you won’t notice any changes, but if your using the standard lock sound, it is quieter
Apple is far superior to the android updates.
Maybe but if you introduce more bug for some bs like liquid glass then what is the point? I’m a huge Apple fan, I’m fully in the ecosystem so don’t get me wrong, love their tech over just about anything else. BUT that doesn’t mean I want to deal with more bugs than features that each new OS forces on you. I rather see a tick tock release that stabilizes the OS over just throwing crap out and forcing users to regression test their crap code.
People just making up issues with the car now.
I love both techs. You do have a choice to not update and stay on the releases you like. As well i think Tesla does a great job, maybe better than apple. In the grand scheme of software both are leaps and bounds great. You need to release features and until ai takes over we have to deal with it. I mean have you ever seen another software company not release buggy software?
I mean, if there are bugs sure. But like with this braking feature, there’s no reason to be annoyed that a minor improvement was made.
Well that is the sad part, you have me on that one! I remember the first iPhones and software being less buggy and more importantly not introducing so many bugs in previously stable apps/features like they seem to in this super fast release cycle. I personally think if they stayed in the same iOS and increased performance while adding some features would be better than rewriting the whole OS every year. I want quality, not be your damn tester. Especially for apps/features that were previously rock solid to now be buggy with an overall loss of stability in general. Don’t have the time on Tesla as I just got my first car last month. But will say I’m so far impressed with the UI and somewhat lack of software bugs like you see on a iPhone. Of course these are crazy different type of devices but giving props to what Tesla has out. And of course it has to be as it can be a danger if not.
No this is fine. I’m talking about in general those updates where as an end user you don’t notice anything different but it’s installed. Think windows updates or most iOS updates or similar. This is an actual feature so no reason to be mad
If external temp drops below X, raise internal to Y, maybe? I want an option to turn on lights when wipers are turned on (I am aware that a commander allows this but should be included in the car)
Thank goodness. It really was too loud. I didn’t want my entire road hearing my car quack.
when is the summer update? edit: 2026.26?
you mean update TO hw3 for us plebs? /s
The brake pedal is connected to the electric brake assist, then to the hidraulic system. You couldn’t really stop without assist at high speeds. They can tweak that to make your press stronger/lighter or press it without your help (e.g. hold mode).
Speed control in stop star traffic can be admittedly poor. If the car in front moves, the Tesla accelerates way too fast and will then slam the brakes when the car in front slows as opposed to other EV’s I’ve had which gently accelerate to match the traffic.
You have a Tesla and couldn’t put together SD meant self drive?
no, stop being lazy and abbreviating everything like everyone knows what you’re talking about
Are you aware Tesla uses abbreviations in their products sir. *overdramatic*
yes, and people are aware of what those mean, not “SD” which could mean literally anything, as you can see by everyone else being confused about it too
Ok, yes that is not smooth. My 10yo I had before was way smoother.
