Directions: Turn Straight

When driving along the highway that runs through town, there are about 4 points along the way, where the navigation pops up a message telling me to go straight instead of taking an exit. I can't think of any reason why this information would be useful. The first few times it happened, it caught me off guard. Glancing at the message, it's easy to overlook that the straight arrows are black, and the turn arrows are gray, and interpret the message as "There's something to do soon". Does this happen everywhere, or is it just an quirt of this particular highway?

There seems to clearly be a freeway exchange coming up. This is the same navigation prompt that comes up with every driving navigation system.

This happens to me as well. I understand it when it’s a freeway exchange, but it happens on regular exits as well. Apple Maps never does this. I’m in Phoenix, AZ area

It's actually telling you to keep straight at the next intersection or offramp.

These cues are important on roads with multiple lanes that split at some point. It’s to give enough time to change lanes. One might be driving straight on the rightmost lane and not realize they have to be two lanes to the left to keep going straight.

There's an even more useless one on my commute that doesn't even have an exit. It's just straight or nothing.

Not this time, it's just a normal exit. Here's a zoomed out map of that location. What really drives me crazy is when you have an interchange like this it will go to the slowest lane from the fastest just to go straight and 100 feet later go back to the fastest lane.
