Mud flaps are no longer optional for me. Brands to avoid?

New Model 3P owner. I didn't initially choose to add flaps to my car. But wow, I had no idea that driving in the rain one day would result in some pretty serious dirt carnage ALL over the side and up the rear of the car. There's road spray and grit all over the entire rear of the car. Regular road usage, no construction sites etc. Wow. Car is filthy. So I'm reading through threads and attempting proper due diligence. But there are a lot of options for mud flaps. I'm seeing I want flexibility to avoid damage and a flap getting ripped off etc. I get that. But I'm also seeing comments that some can cause paint damage? They are all mounted the same way correct? Ideally a good set that works that's not looking like barn doors hanging behind the wheels. So which "style" or brands should I avoid then? I'm reading comments about flaps that come with pieces of PPF for your paint and I'm not even seeing where that would be an issue based on how they are mounted. End of the day these are just mud flaps for a car. So I don't want to overthink this lol. But I'd prefer to get a good set and install once and be done lol. EDIT: Ok it seems there are good choices but Rally is highly recommended here, and a few other places I've seen. I'm going with that brand. Thanks all for taking the time to help out :)

I had put Rally Armor flaps on my Subaru before and ended up going with them for my 2023 MYP and like the look.

If you are in snowy regions (i forgot the exact wording), they offer free PPF + Mudflaps for your cars. You just need to contact Tesla and they give you the OEM ones for free. I believe they just give you the front 2, the rear 2 would need to be 3rd party

Tesla in Upstate NY, one of the most gnarly winter areas, does not give free PPF or mud flaps. Would have saved me a ton if they did.

This did not happen for me in Chicago :(

:\\ Which service center did you visit? Me along with friends were all able to get PPF + mudflaps in Chicago

Whatever you do, install PPF under where the mud flaps contact paint. Dirt and grime get behind the mud flaps, and, over time, the mud flaps vibrate and move and wear the paint. My mud flaps from Tesbros came with pre-cut PPF, but I noticed that their mud flaps for the newer Highland M# do not include PPF. But you can buy your own PPF and cut it, or perhaps other sellers include PPF.

Ok thanks. That makes sense now that I have the context you provided. Appreciate it.

I tried cheap Amazon and eBay ones, they don't last more then a single winter, so depend where. Spent the money on rally amor, 3 winters through.

And another vote for Rally. That's what I'll order. Thanks :)

the PPF will get just as dirty and stain more easily than paint. it’ll also look a little out of place. unless you really care about some paint chips (you’ll have still have PPF chips) not worth it at all

BASENOR on Amazon. Great product! No issues. Two winters already. And look cool too. Have them on my S

Did you end up installing on all four wheel wells or just for the front tires ? I had trouble finding anything that worked on the rear
