Apologies if I just didn't see it, but what Tesla hardware versions is it compatible with?

I'm running tesla-usb on a Pi Zero 1. Is this tested and not working or only hasn't been tested on the Zero? Thanks :)

Based on the listed supported Pi's, I don't think it's been tested.

Sorry but does the Raspberry Pi run in the glovebox? Is it plugged into the USB port of the car and use its own storage for capturing sentry/dashcam?

Correct. The pi tells the car I’m a USB use me basically.

Will this make my Raven HW3 Model X more enjoyable? Access stuff via the app?
Either way, I’m interested by the FSD tracking, as I use it 95% of the time in both of our Teslas or so I think.

It’s not live FSD tracking or modifying FSD in any way. It processes footage every ~58 minutes or after your drive. Tesla only keeps 1 hour of rolling dashcam footage, Sentry USB captures all of it before it gets overwritten so you can keep hours of footage or archive it indefinitely to cloud/network storage.
From that footage it extracts GPS, vehicle speed, gear state, and autopilot status. For FSD it tracks engagement %, distance on FSD, disengagements, and accelerator pedal pushes (driver interventions). All mapped on your drive route.
Works with any Tesla that has dashcam so your HW3 Model X is good. You can access everything through the web UI or the Sentry Connect iOS app.

Will it pull dashcam footage via the app? That’s the big difference in our Model X vs Model 3. That’s more so what I meant by making the Model X more enjoyable. Some things feel neutered on it.
Thanks for the detailed response.

Ah got it. We’re actively working on improving this. Right now viewing dashcam footage is a bit hit or miss on the iOS app since it runs into a Bluetooth bottleneck. The web UI is usually better depending on your connection to the Pi.
You can download clips from the web UI today. Downloading from the iOS app is on the roadmap and coming in the next couple updates.

If you want to view or export footage without the Pi and don’t mind pulling out the USB drive, check out our desktop app [Sentry Studio](https://sentry-six.com/sentry-studio) Just plug in your USB, select your TeslaCam folder, and you can view, export, and share everything in one place.

Sounds great. Again, thanks for the detailed response. I’m going to put this on my to do list and stay in touch with the progress. Already downloaded the app.

I am not sure if you’ve seen the teslaUSB by mphacker (https://github.com/mphacker/TeslaUSB). I use this one and a couple things I love about it is the ability to change lock chimes easily as well as upload light shows and vehicle custom wraps. Is this something yours can do or have you thought about adding?

It is on our list! Yes. We currently support the light shows, new wraps, license plates. Chimes are a big on for me so I’ll personally work on that one my self!

For the storage configuration, if you choose an external drive, all the sizes should reflect the size of your external drive correct. For example I have a 1tb external drive. I make 5gb for lightshows, 5gb for boombox, and 990gb for dashcam?

This is sick! Never heard of Sentry USB before. Love the idea of everything being local - no cloud creepiness. Btw, for scraping other data sources, we've been using Scrappey. It does all the fancy stuff like proxies and AI extraction. Works like a charm. Would be neat if you could merge some AI analysis directly into the Sentry setup.
