Tesla Homelink Module

_knightwalkr | 2026-03-09 23:10 | 26 views

Hi all, I can't seem to find any clear answers about the Homelink module part number 1114984-00-B. Does anyone know what frequency it uses? I tried looking online and have found conflicting information about US being 315mhz and EU being 433, and other sources saying it covers the spectrum of between 288 MHz and 433 MHz. Anyone have a difinitive answer? Thanks in advance!!

It learns the frequency from the garage door remote. It should work in the US or Europe.

hmm, if that's the case i cant seem to get it working, I bought a US module from ebay and installed it (i'm from australia) and tried to pair up 3 different garate remotes (for 3 different openers all on 433) and none of them worked which led me to believe the homelink modules have frequency region locked, but i couldnt find a clear answer

When you installed it, did you reload the software from the service menu?

It wasn’t installed previously so it wasn’t “reloaded”, but yes I went to service menu, installed the device, and confirmed via the test that it was working properly, the only thing I haven’t tested is using a 315mhz remote which I’ll do if all options fail to pair up my 433mhz remotes hence I’m trying to figure out if the homelink modules work with all frequencies or if they are religion locked to specific frequencies

The firmware must be reloaded for it to work.

How do you reload the software? Excuse my lack of knowledge. It shows that it’s connected and working, I’m at the stage where i try and add my garage remote by holding the remote in front of my bumper but doesn’t detect my garage remote

Yep, I followed all the steps! But my remote won’t pair hence reaching out to the community to see if anyone knows what frequency these run off and if there’s a difference between eu and us homelink modules

From what I find doing a Google search: The US Tesla HomeLink module is a versatile transceiver that generally operates within the 288 MHz to 433 MHz radio frequency range, supporting common garage door openers, gates, and security systems. While 433.92 MHz is common in many setups, the system is designed to learn various frequencies and supports modern, secure rolling code technologies.

Did you know that a service manual is just 1 Google search away? Tesla has all their service manuals on their webpage for free. There is a section for home link installation and I'm pretty sure you need to do a software reinstall or do something via toolbox to install the software for it.
