tesla rental

jbolko808 | 2026-03-09 18:58 | 12 views

in pretty sure the answer is no, but want to double check here. tesla rental through Budget so i only have the card access. Is there anything at all i can do with my phone? Specifically, just want to adjust climate so my butt doesn’t get melted to seat when i get in.

If you're getting in and out of the ride to pickup something, voice command; keep climate on. And it'll keep the climate cool while your out and about doing things.

Card access, they did not add it to the app for me the last time I rented the Tesla

thanks but also anything i can do if im gone for 1hour+

Hertz had a way to link phone access with a QR code on the screen, not sure why Budget wouldn’t have this also

I rented from Avis and had the same, there was no app access just card access. Supercharging was charged back after the rental rather than using my Tesla account. I heard that Hertz does allow App access (Tesla supports rental car access, but the rental company needs to implement it), so next time I will try Hertz if Avis hasn't enrolled in app access.

i haven’t charged yet. i’m guessing if it’s supercharger. they just add that to my bill? since my tesla app has my car on it

Hertz used to add it to your phone key but I don’t think they rent Teslas anymore in most areas

Generally, no. Rentals that I’ve had while traveling are card only. Not going to have the full suite of ownership features on a rental.

correct

Hertz is the only one I have ever gotten app access.

Do rentals have FSd or an option to add FSd?

jbolko808 2026-03-10 04:46

i think Touro does but not Budget

Tesla collision center rented late model Tesla 3 and Y very reasonably, and included free supercharging, free tolls, and free roadside assistance. It not only gave phone access, but it knew all my settings. The down side is you might have to wreck your Tesla first.
