First ever accident 😭

wyattgilbertcreative | 2026-03-07 00:53 | 90 views

This is how I get into my first ever accident lol. My friend’s mom didn’t know I was behind her. Oh well, mistakes happen. Unfortunately, it did cause a good amount of damage :(

Get her a 3rd party backup camera asap 😭

IamStinkyChili 2026-03-07 02:19

Thankfully it was a car that she saw when she walked to the car and backed up into it and was absent minded, rather than the child/pedestrian that happened to walk by that she didn't see.

SblackIsBack 2026-03-07 02:58

Sheesh imagine backing out without looking at all. Sorry for you, OP.

Ringtaker 2026-03-07 03:18

Looks like this Ford Edge already has a backup camera and backup sensors.

seanocono22 2026-03-07 03:20

This sucks, OP. Lesson learned, park blocking a driveway and shit can happen.

LordFly88 2026-03-07 03:57

Side and rear view mirrors by the looks of it as well. Car must have had one of those camouflage wraps.

cday119 2026-03-07 04:23

Well I'm old, and I'm coming back! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy4KpX1KOp0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy4KpX1KOp0)

short_bus_genius 2026-03-07 05:31

“That girl wearing a mini skirt deserved it” vibes…

seanocono22 2026-03-07 05:33

That comment says a lot about you that your mind goes there.

short_bus_genius 2026-03-07 05:36

Says the guy blaming the victim.

seanocono22 2026-03-07 05:39

I’m not blaming anyone. But if you park in a place where vehicles enter and exit, then there is a non-zero chance that a vehicle will enter or exit.

Comfortable_Layer412 2026-03-07 05:40

Did you pull up after she was in the car? I’m wondering how she couldn’t have seen you when she got in🤷🏻‍♂️

Psice 2026-03-07 07:53

So if a little girl was crossing the driveway she would've flattened her... She is a danger to society

DameLasNalgas 2026-03-07 09:35

Was the person reversing the car legally blind?

Blazah 2026-03-07 10:06

Damn, full send backing up.... I almost never have to take my foot off the brake when backing up a regular ICE car...

satanforaday 2026-03-07 10:15

Send it...

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2026-03-07 10:31

Didn’t she see a car behind her as she was entering her car?

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 12:55

Absolutely. The worst part is there's a busy sidewalk right behind my car...

MrAnonymous__ 2026-03-07 12:55

You don't walk backwards out to your car normally?

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 12:56

Call me John Cena lol

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 12:57

Maybe another set of eyes, too...

MrAnonymous__ 2026-03-07 12:59

The driver in that video is so oblivious, there's a good chance they would have just backed into OP's car if it was parked along a curb. The only lesson to be learned here is for the person who managed to run into a stationary object.

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 12:59

There's also a busy sidewalk right behind my car. So yeah... pretty scary

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 13:01

Yes. I'm certainly going to be more cognizant in the future!

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 13:02

Correct. I was sitting there for about 5ish minutes, waiting for my friend to come out of the house. I didn't even know someone was inside the car in front of me.

RScottyL 2026-03-07 13:03

Why would you park blocking a driveway anyway? That's on YOU!

Packing-Tape-Man 2026-03-07 13:06

This is part of the problem that they let drivers as reckless as her have licenses.

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 13:07

I had just pulled in, waiting for my friend to come out of the house. I didn't know someone was in the car in front of me. Lesson learned!

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 13:10

🤣

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 13:11

💯

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2026-03-07 13:59

Sometimes I’ll do the moonwalk

iJeff 2026-03-07 15:30

IMO you should automatically lose your license for operating a vehicle without looking in the direction you're going. It could have easily killed someone, especially a child.

htdwps 2026-03-07 15:46

When you understand that 80% of the drivers you share the road with drive like this you learn to drive defensively on the streets.

ipokesnails 2026-03-07 16:01

Never trust someone who pulls in forwards to park. Back in or pull through, there's rarely a good excuse not to. Yes, they should have looked when backing up, but backing out of a parking space is still much more dangerous than pulling out forwards.

Fearless-Cattle-9698 2026-03-07 16:15

I’m surprised nobody asked the question, but here we go. what is your friends mom rushing out of your house in a panic? ![gif](giphy|elhmwUMsAUbScKLLzl)

Stivo887 2026-03-07 16:30

I did this the day I bought my tesla. More electronics than I ever had. Backed out of my garage after it got tinted and ran into my Honda civic 😢

Xx_HARAMBE96_xX 2026-03-07 17:17

How's that even possible?

Locrin 2026-03-07 17:24

How many acccidents have you been involved in? Guessing a lot lol.

Kimorin 2026-03-07 17:50

how can you be backing up and don't know there is a car behind u, that's crazy, feel like she shouldn't have a drivers license geez also is the car's parking sensors turned off? it didn't warn her?

ilikekielbasas 2026-03-07 18:19

Wtf was that

Radius118 2026-03-07 18:20

Mirrors! We'll get ya some! https://preview.redd.it/83h062ul0ong1.png?width=2510&format=png&auto=webp&s=23530fe54331d4f698eb9b8fd55a104f845f2dfe

bestbeforeee 2026-03-07 18:28

They should make her take her driving exam again. That’s just crazy dangerous.

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 18:35

You tell me, man 😭

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-07 18:36

I guess she just assumed the coast would be clear. Obviously, she was very wrong 🙃

ilikekielbasas 2026-03-07 18:48

🥴

Neat_Welcome6203 2026-03-07 19:07

It be your own...

Jensbert 2026-03-07 19:16

But usually no one is there....

Minigoalqueen 2026-03-07 20:13

May not have any sensors. My Tesla is the first car I've owned that had any.

Kimorin 2026-03-07 21:08

You can see it in the picture on the back bumper

Stivo887 2026-03-07 21:09

I just added the garage door opener and had someone in my garage waiting on me to tint another car so when I left garage it automatically closed and I focused on that rather than my other car.. Also alcohol was involved

CptCheez 2026-03-08 04:19

It definitely has sensors and a backup camera. You can see them all in the video.

ZealousidealDraw4075 2026-03-08 08:41

Maybe she shouldn't drive

carfo 2026-03-08 14:24

Is this a side shot or front camera ?

wyattgilbertcreative 2026-03-08 14:26

front

CatInteresting7601 2026-03-08 23:01

THOSE 4 DOTS ARE REVERSE SENSORS!!! HER DASH WAS SURELY BEEPING THE WHOLE TIME (UNLESS IT WAS BROKEN)

oliphant_branch 2026-03-09 00:32

“Accident”

Opposite-Use-2601 2026-03-09 16:20

I had the exact same situation happen to me last year in my M3P. My buddy’s mom backed into me in there driveway while we were out at lunch in her Yukon Denali with a tow hitch. Tow hitch cracked my front bumper. Damaged the frunk bucket and bent the hood. Went through insurance and Tesla had it back to me in about a week and a half and 17k later
