Then why didn’t you…
They are $20 at Amazon. Different prices from different stores.
I just bought my sensors from Tesla and had Discount Tire install them.
They used to be $95 each from Tesla until somewhat recently I believe. That’s what I paid for them anyway a few years ago.
I did the same thing? That is a huge difference in price!
I think Costco charges about $300 for installing all four tire sensors with a list price of about $50 per sensor.
Good one is $40+. Also there are pre-restyled (cheaper) and restyled (Bluetooth)
FYI a few of their America’s Tire locations do alignments and they are also more expensive than Tesla.
I take the blame I thought the price was $95 for 2 .. Wasn’t paying attention
respect for admitting that ✌️
When did Tesla lower to $60? I paid about $400 for 4 altogether over a year ago.
They sell the euro oem’s on Amazon , set of 4 for $107ish - my car registered them almost instantly
I took a risk and I got 4 on Amazon for $90. They registered just fine and work as good as OEM so far. Discount Tire installed no problem.
How much does it cost to install it from discount tires? One of mine doesn't work and Tesla wants $163 to do one. Little over price.
Considering they told me yesterday I need 4 and it will be $776, I thank you very much.
what's the installation fee for the sensor?
I was getting new tires there, so there was no charge for tpms install.
good to know! how long does your original tpms last?
Google says something like 5-10 years. My OEM sensors were fine. I just kept them with the stock wheels, and had aftermarket wheels and new tires installed.
I had it done at the same time I bought tires, so it was included in the $25 mount and balance.
Just had one replaced yesterday. It was $60 CDN.
holy moly
My local mom and pop shop charged me $100 parts and labor per wheel. So this doesn't seem crazy
I brought up the cost of OEM sensors on Amazon and negotiated Discount Tire down to $60 installed each for 4x, $240 total. If you don’t ask for it, you’ll never get it.
I assume you have an older car out of warranty? I've had TMPS sensors die twice on my 2023 Tesla and both times Tesla service center replaced for free as part of warranty (the 2nd time they actually replaced the whole tire as they noticed an issue with the foam when they were swapping out the TPMS)
At Tesla?
A local tire shop.
If you pay for the ESA subscription you are only out the $100 deductible and they will replace every faulty sensor. Had this done for 3 that malfunctioned and all were replaced and installed for $100
