I am genuinely happy for you. I was 29 years old when I picked up my 2025 model Y and it was the most exciting adult purchase of mine. You are going to feel a new man driving off the lot. I guarantee it. If you’re single, even better.

Same as you! 29 turning 30 soon and history of Nissans. I got mine at the end of July and still love it as much if not more than when I first got it.
Excited for you - enjoy!!!

FSD will blow your mind. You pass people driving their own cars and realize most people have no idea cars drive themselves now.

Congrats! Hope you have home charging figured out. It makes a huge difference in ownership of these cars if you can set up a Tesla charger in your garage.

It's a big upgrade, I drove a 2014 Nissan Altima since new until last December when I leased the Model Y AWD cause of all the incentives Tesla offered. Having FSD on HW4 is a luxury on my commute that I don't see any other car maker offer

Did the same went from altima to model y in 2022, I had a 2011 altima back then ,with bose surround SL version. HUGE change to tesla , you'll love the smoothness, the driving on cloud feeling since there is no engine vibration......
That being said altima was a great dependable car and you will miss the bose system if you had on your altima, tesla is pretty nice, but altima audio was better(strangeely) . Rest everything is a huge upgrade...
CONGRATULATIONS!

Very nice! I was in the same boat. Driving a 10+ year old car with no A/C justifying it by not having a car payment. Did the upgrade to a M3 LR and literally the best daily driving car around. It will be a huge and well deserved upgrade. Congrats!

Yep, I get it, everyone’s home situation is different. But depending upon where you live and the price of electricity in your area, Superchargers can get really expensive.
I’m not sure about the regular chargers in your area, but I hope they are cheaper than Tesla superchargers. 🤞

I paid in full 530 bucks which is about 88 bucks a month
Tesla is estimating 200 bucks a month smh

Not to put a damper on your excitement, but one of the big selling points of an EV (for me, at least) was always waking up to a charged car and never having to go to a gas station again (not to mention the dirt-cheap off-peak rates). I’m not sure I’d buy if your only charging options are not at home. Supercharging can be around the price of gas, but slower. Regular chargers (depending on what you mean by that) will probably be even slower. If you drive much, you’re going to be spending a lot of time at chargers, and about as much as you used to pay for gas. Yes, you’ll still have an amazing and fun car, but it won’t be with the cost savings a lot of us are getting.

I just turned 30 and pick up mine next Tuesday. Main reason for my purchase was our daughter has special needs and the thought of my wife being able to give her b to e attention she needs on the way to appointments with FSD, let alone the unsupervised FSD that is to come made taking a car payment for a few years worth it! I did enjoy have a 2 car garage with no payments though 😅

I bought my Model 3 brand new when I was 24, I used to drive 2004 325Ci before. I remember the first time I drove my Model 3 off the lot, It surely was a big change and can never forget that feeling. Now I'm 27 and got 3 more years to being 30. I'm low-key scared to be 30 years old, can't explain why. How do you feel about being 30 soon, OP?

Hello fellow 2016 Nissan Altima Driver from 2016 to this past year. I just upgraded to the Model Y Standard.
You're going to enjoy the extra room and the fronk. The parking is a little harder to get used to since the Altima fit almost everywhere.
Other than that the torque and passing speed is phenomenal compared to my old 4 cylinder.
I was able to keep my old Altima as the trade in cost was not worth it.

I enabled fsd two days after owning the car and made a 698 mile trip that I drove less than 1.5 miles of.
I will never not have fsd.
You already quickly realize how badly most people need fsd when the car saves your life from bad drivers over and over and over…

No kidding about that last part.
People either love it or hate it and when they love it they really love it.
Smart summon blows people’s minds. I just give them the phone and let them bring the car to us.

Had a couple of those looks here in Nashville lol, one followed by “coal rolling”. The dichotomy of love and hate is real but so worth it for how much of a game changer fsd is. Most catch the vibe tho and smile with me.
I also keep it on hurry for the downtown rush but I try to be a kind driver. I hope my nudges are helping the training data.

Nice! Congrats. You can still get 3 months of FSD for free if you contact the center you bought it from and use someone's Tesla link. You can use mine if you want just lmk
