I’m 29 years old and have had a Nissan Altima 2012 since it first came out.

BradBrady | 2026-03-04 22:18 | 221 views

I am beyond excited to be part of the Tesla club. The demo drive was unreal and I couldn’t believe it. I’m turning 30 in a few weeks and this is my early birthday gift. Plus you can’t beat that 0.99 apr. Can’t wait to pick up my Tesla Model Y premium AWD

Bring a change of underwear. Because the difference should produce something in your lower extremities.

Loud-Pay4659 2026-03-04 22:20

Yay!! Dude I'm excited for you. Went from a 2013 camry to a 2026 M3, it's a gamechanger

Xyridaceous 2026-03-04 22:24

Are you using Tesla insurance? Happy early birthday! 🎉

Professional-Ad-7517 2026-03-04 22:24

I am genuinely happy for you. I was 29 years old when I picked up my 2025 model Y and it was the most exciting adult purchase of mine. You are going to feel a new man driving off the lot. I guarantee it. If you’re single, even better.

Mindless-Respect7155 2026-03-04 22:25

This is 🔥🔥🔥

BradBrady 2026-03-04 22:25

My current car insurance expires in April so probably will do Tesla insurance after that

confused-entity 2026-03-04 22:27

Same as you! 29 turning 30 soon and history of Nissans. I got mine at the end of July and still love it as much if not more than when I first got it. Excited for you - enjoy!!!

WindyNightmare 2026-03-04 22:27

It is going to be like you upgraded from riding a horse....

RandomDude414 2026-03-04 22:28

You've been driving the same car since you were 15?

nikkonine 2026-03-04 22:28

FSD will blow your mind. You pass people driving their own cars and realize most people have no idea cars drive themselves now.

HiroyukiC1296 2026-03-04 22:30

I’m also 29, turning 30. Got my own M3LR last November. Welcome to the club :)

DTruxy 2026-03-04 22:34

Congratulations welcome to the club

BradBrady 2026-03-04 22:34

Yep! Around 15-16! My dads friend sold it to us a day after he bought it for his daughter and she didn’t like it lol

CR8VJUC 2026-03-04 22:39

Congrats! Hope you have home charging figured out. It makes a huge difference in ownership of these cars if you can set up a Tesla charger in your garage.

RandomDude414 2026-03-04 22:41

It's a big upgrade, I drove a 2014 Nissan Altima since new until last December when I leased the Model Y AWD cause of all the incentives Tesla offered. Having FSD on HW4 is a luxury on my commute that I don't see any other car maker offer

SpiritStatic 2026-03-04 22:42

I got my first tesla at 29 too and came from an Altima… funny enough. You will love it. Congrats!!

IGNORED34 2026-03-04 22:42

Bummer you missed out on autopilot

BreakTheDebtChain 2026-03-04 22:44

Congratulations man. Well deserved!

apu823 2026-03-04 22:44

Insurance doesn’t expire. You can change it anytime you want so you don’t have to wait until April …

BradBrady 2026-03-04 22:45

I live in an apartment and have superchargers less than 10 minutes away from me and regular chargers less than five minutes away from me either way I’m excited. Homes are way too damn expensive right now lol

juanitospat 2026-03-04 22:46

Congratulations! Teslas are amazing cars! 2 years later, I still love to drive mine! I also now hate to drive gas cars! Haha

Extension_Year6903 2026-03-04 22:50

Did the same went from altima to model y in 2022, I had a 2011 altima back then ,with bose surround SL version. HUGE change to tesla , you'll love the smoothness, the driving on cloud feeling since there is no engine vibration...... That being said altima was a great dependable car and you will miss the bose system if you had on your altima, tesla is pretty nice, but altima audio was better(strangeely) . Rest everything is a huge upgrade... CONGRATULATIONS!

Southern-Fortune-626 2026-03-04 22:52

Congratulations! I’m proud of you!

WhaleDonation7 2026-03-04 22:55

Went from a 2019 mazda to model y

kushtastic629 2026-03-04 23:04

Very nice! I was in the same boat. Driving a 10+ year old car with no A/C justifying it by not having a car payment. Did the upgrade to a M3 LR and literally the best daily driving car around. It will be a huge and well deserved upgrade. Congrats!

CR8VJUC 2026-03-04 23:04

Yep, I get it, everyone’s home situation is different. But depending upon where you live and the price of electricity in your area, Superchargers can get really expensive. I’m not sure about the regular chargers in your area, but I hope they are cheaper than Tesla superchargers. 🤞

Clout12x 2026-03-04 23:08

agreed.

Clout12x 2026-03-04 23:09

You can cancel it beforehand unless you paid in full for 6 months

BradBrady 2026-03-04 23:10

I paid in full 530 bucks which is about 88 bucks a month Tesla is estimating 200 bucks a month smh

waznpride 2026-03-04 23:12

I always wonder when people see me make a turn at a light while I'm using both of my hands and get confused.

n8yi 2026-03-04 23:14

I went from a 2012 Hyundai Tuscan I drove since 2015 to the juniper RWD. What an upgrade!

lotofry 2026-03-04 23:17

Congrats on the upgrade

[deleted] 2026-03-04 23:24

Bro this is gonna blow your mind lol

Blancenshphere 2026-03-04 23:34

I don’t think this was a requirement when I picked mine up😅

kuse94 2026-03-04 23:39

Congrats! If we’re sharing ages I was 25 when I got my first Tesla, 2020 Model 3 SR+ and I was 30 when I got my 2nd Tesla, 2025 Model Y LR AWD

Kooter37 2026-03-04 23:41

Congrats! I just got a M3 after driving a 2012 Elantra for 10 years. To say my first drive in the Tesla was amazing, is a huge understatement. So fun to drive.

Lucky_Chaarmss 2026-03-05 00:00

I never test drove over. I just ordered and my first time driving electric was as soon as I pulled away.

BradBrady 2026-03-05 00:01

I can’t wait, just demo driving it for an hour made my adrenaline go up

TaxNo2158 2026-03-05 00:21

Not to put a damper on your excitement, but one of the big selling points of an EV (for me, at least) was always waking up to a charged car and never having to go to a gas station again (not to mention the dirt-cheap off-peak rates). I’m not sure I’d buy if your only charging options are not at home. Supercharging can be around the price of gas, but slower. Regular chargers (depending on what you mean by that) will probably be even slower. If you drive much, you’re going to be spending a lot of time at chargers, and about as much as you used to pay for gas. Yes, you’ll still have an amazing and fun car, but it won’t be with the cost savings a lot of us are getting.

RScottyL 2026-03-05 00:28

"and have had a Nissan Altima 2012 since it first came out." LOL, sorry about that! Glad you finally decided to drive a better car!

AggravatingSupport60 2026-03-05 00:46

I just turned 30 and pick up mine next Tuesday. Main reason for my purchase was our daughter has special needs and the thought of my wife being able to give her b to e attention she needs on the way to appointments with FSD, let alone the unsupervised FSD that is to come made taking a car payment for a few years worth it! I did enjoy have a 2 car garage with no payments though 😅

junlowe 2026-03-05 01:08

I bought my Model 3 brand new when I was 24, I used to drive 2004 325Ci before. I remember the first time I drove my Model 3 off the lot, It surely was a big change and can never forget that feeling. Now I'm 27 and got 3 more years to being 30. I'm low-key scared to be 30 years old, can't explain why. How do you feel about being 30 soon, OP?

Ok_Cake1283 2026-03-05 02:23

You are about to be transported so far into the future

thewallran 2026-03-05 02:45

congrats, welcome to the club. I just joined the tesla club this year and I absolutely love it. the Y is going to be great for car camping and road trips.

S2THERIPPER 2026-03-05 03:06

My first car @ 27, Model 3 Highland! Not many people around my age drive Tesla.. anyways congrats and enjoy your car to its fullest! (Pro tip: play with the EQ, these cars have an AMAZING sound system)

Enjoy_The_Ride413 2026-03-05 03:18

Omg you're gonna love it! Coming from an Altima is going to feel life changing. Congrats!

Ill_Aside_5662 2026-03-05 06:09

Same, I got mine at 28 years old. Was an EV hater until that point. Wish I got it before.

Guilty-Pie-2589 2026-03-05 09:33

I’m 30 and currently drive an old crown vic lol. My MYP should be here next week 😎

Guilty-Pie-2589 2026-03-05 09:36

Definitely shop around. Geico has me covered for about $130 per month.

1868orc 2026-03-05 18:10

Hello fellow 2016 Nissan Altima Driver from 2016 to this past year. I just upgraded to the Model Y Standard. You're going to enjoy the extra room and the fronk. The parking is a little harder to get used to since the Altima fit almost everywhere. Other than that the torque and passing speed is phenomenal compared to my old 4 cylinder. I was able to keep my old Altima as the trade in cost was not worth it.

FjordTV 2026-03-06 00:47

I make intense prolonged eye contact while resting my hands folded behind my head. The looks range from anger to laughter to mostly incredulity

FjordTV 2026-03-06 00:48

I enabled fsd two days after owning the car and made a 698 mile trip that I drove less than 1.5 miles of. I will never not have fsd. You already quickly realize how badly most people need fsd when the car saves your life from bad drivers over and over and over…

FjordTV 2026-03-06 00:50

No kidding about that last part. People either love it or hate it and when they love it they really love it. Smart summon blows people’s minds. I just give them the phone and let them bring the car to us.

waznpride 2026-03-06 00:55

I'd be weary of getting angry looks. It could easily turn into a road rage incident where "Muh ICE lifted truck is better than your tin can!!!"

FjordTV 2026-03-06 01:24

Had a couple of those looks here in Nashville lol, one followed by “coal rolling”. The dichotomy of love and hate is real but so worth it for how much of a game changer fsd is. Most catch the vibe tho and smile with me. I also keep it on hurry for the downtown rush but I try to be a kind driver. I hope my nudges are helping the training data.

choking_ur_girl 2026-03-06 04:42

Nice! Congrats. You can still get 3 months of FSD for free if you contact the center you bought it from and use someone's Tesla link. You can use mine if you want just lmk
