Juniper Window tint with white interior

GizmoSwd | 2026-03-04 20:05 | 9 views

I’m considering tinting my windows and the main motivation is to reduce heat while having the front and rear glass match as close as possible. The consensus is 20% front 70% rear for the best match. Does this hold true for white interiors? I’m looking for any suggestions or opinions on what “visually” looks the best

I went 5% on the front windows, 25% on the back and 35% on the windshield. With the white interior it really lights up the space. So I went darker.

Be sure to check your state’s laws on automobile window tinting. For example, 20% on front windows would be too dark in Washington state.

If you’re only doing it for heat rejection go for 20% sides and 70% windshield. If you want privacy go 15% sides and tint the windshield to 35 or 50%. I did 15% all around and 35% windshield but the front seats are still visible from the outside.

5% film on the rears (1.2% vlt), 20% sides, 35% windshield.

20% front and 70% rear will not match exactly if that's what you are after.  I did 15% front two windows and did not touch the rear. It is very close, but the front is still slightly lighter due to light entering windshield and the white seats.

Thanks for your response. They don’t have to match exactly, just be close. Trying to achieve a balanced look without being so dark I attract the attention of the law. 15% with the light interior may be the sweet spot!

I’m sure that looks awesome but the last time I had 5% on the front windows of a vehicle, I received a citation shortly after crossing the state line. That seems darker than I want to go, but I appreciate your input. Thanks

I'm def rolling illegally. But any tint in CA on the fronts is illegal. Seems like front tinted windows have flooded the zone and the cops have given up.... until they pull me for something else.

I'd go a little lighter then 5% I'd prob do 15-20% if it was me again. I went with 5% on my Tesla this time around and *sometimes* I have to roll down the window to see me reversing even though I use the cameras heavily. It looks awesome though.

I put 5% on my very first car. It was so dumb, you couldn't see a damn thing out the sides at night. I had to put the windows down at every intersection. Haven't had tint on a car since.

I get it, as cool as 5% looks from the outside, it does present some challenges trying to see at night. With my wife and potentially one of my kids driving this vehicle, the tint has to be practical and safe.

To be honest, no tint is the most practical.
