Hope the warranty covers this 😭
Long story short...• I own a 2019 Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD with around 74k miles. The battery and drive unit warranty is valid until September 2027 or 120k miles. • I purchased the car at around 70k miles and have driven roughly 4k miles in the past month with absolutely no issues. • The only issue since purchasing the car was a common suspension/control arm squeak, which I had repaired. Other than that the car has driven perfectly. • While driving recently the car displayed the warning: “Vehicle may not restart — service required.” • Tesla mobile service attended expecting to replace the 12V battery, but even with external 12V support connected the vehicle still would not start. • The technician notes suggested a possible High Voltage battery / BMS (Battery Management System) issue, so the vehicle was recovered to Tesla Dartford for further diagnostics. • Prior to this, a Tesla battery health test showed the high-voltage battery itself as healthy with normal energy retention for its age and mileage. • I was told the vehicle would only be recovered to the service centre if the issue was believed to be related to the high-voltage battery system and therefore potentially covered under warranty. • The vehicle is now at the service centre but has not yet been diagnosed due to workshop workload. • Tesla have said that at the moment it does not indicate the issue would be covered under the battery warranty, so I am not eligible for a courtesy car until a full diagnostic is completed. Anyone experienced anything like this? Did tesla honor the warranty in the end? I've got warranty from a 3rd party company too so that's the bavk up.
