What's the year and mileage of your Model 3?
Test drive the Lucid Air and see if you like it at all. I found it to be underwhelming.
You could also look into financing a different EV? Perhaps another Model 3?

If you do go Lucid I would lease.. Their future is pretty uncertain at the moment.
My father in law had a Lucid Air on lease a few years ago though, I thought the quality & fit and finish was better than Tesla but everything else especially the tech and UI was subpar.

Depends on how much money you’ve got. Tesla are pretty reliable.

cheers, its a 2021 tesla - with 80k KM on it.
Drove the Air - absolutely loved it - and the interior was another level.
Level head in me says stick to M3 and ride it out for 3-4 years.…though….YOLO….lol…hence here to get some sense stuffed into me

The lucid subreddit has steered me completely from them. They have some sick looking cars though.

Another thing to consider is how close are you to a Lucid & Tesla service center. If you have a Lucid service center somewhat close by I would go Lucid. I own both a Lucid and a 3. The Lucid is so much more car than the 3 especially once you pick up friends/family. The space is just incredible. Good luck with your decision. Cheers!

Yep - a lot of those are older firmware - I believe that youtuber has an updated video talking about things that have resolved. Either ways first gen tech doesn’t faze me. I had the 85d‘s with the MCU failing and going dark for mins during my commute lol.

amen, the rear is insane - I plan to never sit in it tho lol. And yes SC is roughly 30 mins drive - like Tesla. though I’ve heard the Lucid SC has quite the backlog, so definitely weighing on my mind.

interesting - seeing a split on other Tesla forums and threads. Much like any car….curious if I were to budget for potential failures that are likely on a M3 - how much would I budget for the next 4 years?

Ask yourself if the warranty truly matters? I can give you my experience. I have a 3 also that I bought 7.5 years ago that has about 125k miles on it. It’s been out of the vehicle warranty for 4 years and the batter warranty for about a year. You might still have the batter warranty but keep in mind it’s whatever hits first (mikes or years). The control arm (front right) had a recall and was replaced by Tesla. This was also within the warranty period. The only other item I’ve had to deal with was replacing the front right headlamp assembly. This happened a year ago. I’m out of warranty so the Tesla quote was $1600. Since this car has become pretty common everywhere, I figured there were enough mechanics and you tube videos. The part is expensive ($1300) but you can get it from suppliers online. I spent $200. It’s OEM but had a scratch on the inside. I replaced it and paired it myself. This has been the only issue I’ve had with the vehicle. I’m probably going to drive it into the ground.

If it were me I'd ride it out and own the Tesla, then trade it for a 3 year old Lucid as soon as it's paid off.
Don't do what I do.

super low interest - long term spread - invested cash into VFV to keep steady growth.

Go with an extended warranty, with decent care your M3 batter could last 4-5 times as many miles as you have now, a Lucid is not going to last 200k km

If you have a 2021 3/Y, the chances of your HV battery going bad is higher than other year 3/Ys.

The most expensive thing you're doing is paying payments. Focus on that. Don't focus on the possibility that you might have to pay something for your model three down the road.

How old is your M3? what mileage? You should be aware that short of rare battery pack issues there is not much potential "failure" on the car. Control arms could be more robust (but are easily enough replaced and not an expensive repair) and other normal wear and tear on a well driven vehicle.
If you are happy with the car and you are still making payments you should put your anti marketing sunglasses on and drive it till you can't/have it paid off and some money saved towards your next one.

Check to see if you have a service center near by if needed if you are going to think about Lucid. I live in Oregon and there is one in Seattle. 5 hours away or Sacramento 8 hours away which kills it for me. Just to far away to make it viable if there is a problem.

Only thing is Lucids future is not really certain. The saudis are just pumping more and more money into it
