Did you consider asking them?

I did, they obviously wanted to charge me. Just want to see what the hive mind has to say.

2026-03-03 01:08
But please clarify for the group did they or did they not end up charging you?

Yes they did charge me

They did that to me once, I mentioned it was warranty work, and they removed it.

You should’ve escalated that no you should not have been charged for the services. I would naturally have assumed it was a mistake on the billing sheet. If they do repair work under a warranty, then anything being related to that work is covered. That’s how a warranty works, and there is legal language out there to support it.

So you genuinely paid $310.75 instead of escalating? One time I was getting an FSD Computer upgrade from hw2.5 to hw3 and it was billed as $2K, so I asked service why it was $2K instead of $1K like the site says and they apologized and fixed the invoice

I had them explain it to me and talked with the service guy for a few minutes and he wasn’t budging. I had to get to work so I paid and will take it up with Tesla. Hindsight I should have went after work when I had more time and escalated.

The alignment should have been under warranty.
Replacement of that many suspension parts requires an alignment. In the manual, it lists the steps needed for the replacement of those parts, the alignment is listed as a final step.
If the correction code is warranty and includes the alignment then it should be covered.

Thanks, I’ll look up the documentation on replacing the parts.

They did the suspension replacement for me, alignment included, at no charge under warranty.
However, several times they have left charges on for warranty work until I point out that it is under warranty and then they will remove them.

Hmm seems like a tactic. Charge and if customer does complain to boss then remove.

Sounds like the $300 bucks wasn’t a big deal for you. Maybe it was worth the extra 15-30 minutes of your time. Let me guess NFL player?

Same with me. They told me trim adjustment isn’t warrantable anymore

If the suspension goes and needs to be replaced, does that count as warranty replacement?

My warranty work has always been free including a all related diagnostics, services and labor.

If it lived its mileage or lenght, it becomes wear and tear, then customer will pay, unless there are some specifications like a ticket, recall, or banner with a explicit regulation to check for workmanship defects at factory past its lifeline.
This entire work could be covered under warranty as long as the mileage isnt greater than the lifeline of the parts.
Otherwise they can do courtesy change/ customer pay

Is this service center in a state that has 1 or 2 service centers?

Definitely not. California!

Alignment would be warranty if suspension components are warranty. The pay type discrepancy for the trim adjustment makes no sense. Covered under one year from new ownership, otherwise customer pay and take the $35 loss.

Noticed this too when I was getting my suspension work done. Parts were covered by warranty but was still charging me for labor. Messages the service team and they removed the charges.

I brought my first Tesla MS Plaid in for warranty repairs 1 month after purchase. They tried to bill me and I just used the app and asked the person assigned to my repairs and asked him why I was billed. He said it was a mistake and cancelled the bill saying that the service order failed to mark it as a warranty repair order. So this is most likely what happened, so I would suggest you contact them for a refund.

I had the same work for free, Sometimes going to next sc help. Although I added air filter and tire rotation since it was on the lift.

UPDATE: Tesla called me this morning and are issuing a full refund. They said it was a “mistake”.
But after reading through the comments, it seems more like a slimy tactic.
