Not available for registration

Im looking at preowned inventory cars on Tesla's site. Out of all the results I get that meet my criteria, less than 10% can be registered in my zipcode. I cant figure out why. My zipcode is in NYS. One Tesla employee told be its because of NYS' tint law, but that doesn't make sense to me because windows can be untinted and Tesla doesnt manufacturer anything too tinted. I got another explanation about NYS efficiency requirement which also doesn't make any sense because the same trim and year can have 9 models not available and 1 that is. Anyone knows what this is about. Cheers

Prolly because New York Sity doesn’t exist

The dealerships (especially Florida) tint their cars and NY has aggressive tint laws. The dealerships don’t want to remove the tint so they make it not available in NY state.

NYS=New York State?

Yes, NYS is NY State.

I know this. I was making a statement. I was born in New York. ;) The way the person before me said New York Sity made me laugh.

I would estimate about 95% of cars in Texas and other nice weather states are tinted. I picked up a used Tesla that isn't and I am going to at least tint the front side windows. Try to look for one from local dealerships.

But cant NY dealerships just remove the tint?

Sounds about right for the kind of person who would write "prolly" 🫠
