Wheel and tire damage

The Protection plan doesn't cover cosmetic damage so unless the rim is bent you will only get tires.

This happened to me a few times and I was so full of rage the last time that I changed to 18” rims and never had this problem again, despite my city having horrendous potholes. Those Telsa rims are the WORST.

Well I’m hoping they are bent … otherwise I’ll have to pay someone to fix the curb rash.

Yea … it was the worst. Especially when using FSD … wish I was in full control. What wheels did you go for ?

I had curb rash significantly worse than that and fixed it easily myself with a battery drill and sandpaper, and then Tesla Wheel Paint from Amazon. Took 10 -15 minutes and you can't see it unless you are within inches of the wheel and looking for it.

I hate these large diameter rims as well but I don't think its a Tesla specific issue. Its any large diameter rim with skinny tires.

Good luck. I'm also in LA potholes so bad recently I think it's only a matter of time for fsd to do the same to me. Rarely seems to avoid them. Part of the reason why I plan to downsize my myp wheels to 19s

Yea I’m also considering downsizing. Not worth the stress and the added potential costs.

Discount tire had 3 options so I picked the one I found least ugly. Liquid Metal Hawk is the name I believe. Work great! I don’t see any noticeable change in electric usage either.

If nothing else don’t wait too long, if it decides to let go, you’ll go flat and have bigger problems. I was at the tire store the other day and a guy was in with a model 3 that went flat and he ruined it (wheel, rim, and who know what else - he drove it in). Wishing you the best of luck!

lolz! Potholes are all over Los Angeles, and it feels like no one is doing anything about them. Sometimes I wonder where my tax money is actually going. Someone else's pocket!!!!

Bruh, I dunno. But get that replaced today! I have seldom seen tire damage that bad; it’s only a matter of time before that fails catastrophically.

Maybe go to your council meetings? Start actually demanding things?

Soooo Tesla hooked me up and replaced both wheels and tires 🙌🏽🙏🏽
