Nothing phone with Tesla.

Does anyone have use a Nothing Phone with their Tesla? I’m considering moving away from my iPhone, but I’m a bit concerned about the Tesla integration. I can’t seem to find much online about it. My main question is if the walk away lock/unlock works reliably? If anyone has one and would be able to share their experience that would be great!

idk about Nothing Phone but isn’t it the Tesla app that allows you to do anything with the phone even using it as a bluetooth key? Are you able to get Tesla app on the Nothing Phone and Does it have bluetooth? If so, it shouldn’t be an issue should it?

The Android Tesla app is fine, works great on my Pixel. Also the Tessie app is phenomenal too for scheduling things like charging, preheating, sentry on/off etc.

Yeah, if the Tesla app is available, then it should work, but I have no idea if they have it because they’re App Store is weird

Yes I’m sure it would work, but I don’t think the Nothing phone has ultra wideband, which (I think) is what makes the walk away lock and walk up unlock so reliable with iPhone.

I have the Tessie app and I love it! I’m mostly concerned with the lack of ultra wideband on the Nothing phone. Does the pixel have ultra wideband support?

Ah yes genuine concern but my understanding was that automatic lock should still work even without UWB when walking away from the Tesla. The newer Teslas have UWB i think that allows the trunk to open and close when standing behind it. If your phone doesn’t have UWB that might be the only challenging part…

You don't need the UWB for the walk away lock and unlock to work reliably, that part does not even use UWB anyways that I know of. It works very reliably on android phones that don't have UWB. The trick of getting the trunk to open when standing behind it would be about the only thing you would be missing that I can think of and that only matters with Junipers.

My current phone doesn't have UWB and the walk away lock works just fine. UWB is just for the cargo automation.

Ohhh that makes sense. I don’t use that anyways, so I wouldn’t really mind not having it.

Not for Nothing, but I'm using a OnePlus (Carl Pei's previous phone company) and have had no issues beyond an occasional unrecognized phone key. Which is annoying, but is resolved by turning BT off, then on again.
